Louis T:Queen Bee

Sadness

Revving the engine brought Stella to her bedroom window which was right above her houses driveway. Her face was slick with tears and her eyes looked puffy.I twiddled my fingers like I would have done if we were still friends, and then shaking my head, I backed out of the driveway and onto the street.

I should have known this would happen. Louis dosen't let anyone get close to me, everyone thinks I'm a freak because of him. The woman in the security outfit that is watching the gated doors of the neighboorhood waves at me as she lets me through. I keep my head down so she won't see my tears, even though my large helmet conceals my face.

The parking garage seems fuller than it usually is, but its later in the day so it makes more sense. I park my motorcycle in a free spot, and take the elevator up to my apartment that I share with my mother. I walk in, and shes sitting on the couch watching Americas Funniest Home Videos and eating barbecue flavoured chips. She doesn't acknowledge my presence, which works fine for me.Taking a whiff of the air, I frown.

"Mom, your not supposed to smoke in here! We'll be kicked out!." I drop my backpack on the front table and she grunts. I roll my eyes, and make myself a sandwich. I grab my bookbag and carry it into the room that I sleep in. I wouldn't really call it my room, because the only items that are mine in it is the bed, myself, and a small desk. Boxes and junk litter the floor, and I step on a small cord by accident. It digs into my toe and I flop onto the bed.

Ouch.

FLASHBACK

"Sweetheart, your going to your fathers house tonight." My mother calls from the kitchen of the small home we owned. It smelled like cinammon and fresh paint, and I loved it more than any other place in the world. For a 6 year old, I didn't really understand about the divorce that my parents went through. All I knew was that my father moved out, he was getting married soon, and that my mother sometimes cried herself to sleep at night.

I ran down the steps of the house with my Dora suitcase rolling along behind me, the purple wheels clacked against the hardwood floor, and my mother winced as they scratched at the furnish. "Lets go" I said as grinned as we made our way out the door.

My mother stayed in the car and watched as I made my way up the large steps of my fathers house. When I got to the top, I waved at her, and she pulled away leaving me in the darkness. I knocked on the door, and my fathers fiance Kennedy opened the door. "Hello dear." She said, and smacked her gum. she opened the door wider, and walked away. I took off my tiny Sketcher sneakers and my coat. Then I ventured farther into the house towards the living room.

"Hey gorgeous!" My father said and smiled at me as I walked in. "Theres someone I want you to meet." Kennedy walked out of the kitchen with a little boy who looked my age trailing behind her. He was dressed very nice, with jeans and a striped shirt. I looked down at my old Dora t-shirt and my sweatpants that had a hole in the knee, and blushed. "This is Kennedys son. hes your age, and hes going to go to your school!" I looked at my father, then at the boy, and then at Kennedy.

"I'm Trixie" I said quietly, and stuck out my hand for him to shake.

He replied back "I'm Louis."
