Angels and Demons (17+)

Meeting the Parent

Chloe POV:

Once we both had our clothes on, he headed back to the Impala hand in hand. But before we could reach the doors, Dean stopped himself.

Confused, I asked, "What? Is something the matter?"

He furrowed his brows and cocked his head as he spoke, "Hey, do you want to come over to my place? Meet my old man?"

I was astonished by what he just said. Is that really what good sex gets you? An invitation to "meet the parents"? I gulped slightly, "Uh, sure. Why not? Sounds great." I smiled.

"Awesome." He replied, giving me his lovely crooked grin. Then, his hand rejoined mine as we got in and drove to the Styles' household.

We arrived in a matter of fifteen minutes and parked in the driveway. Dean turned off the car but procrastinated in unlocking the doors.

"There's something I gotta tell you about my dad first."

"Okay... What is it?"

He sighed, "He doesn't really approve of the girls I normally bring home."

Curiosity and anger arose at that statement, "Well, how many girls have you brought home? And what makes you think he will like me any better?"

"I'm not entirely sure-"

"Then why are we doing this, Dean?!" I shouted with frustration apparent in my voice.

"Let me finish," he paused, "I'm not entirely sure if he'll like you. But, you're different than all the other girls I've brought to meet my dad. So that's a start."

"Okay... what are the attributes of these so called 'other girls' then?"

"They were just bad news, Chloe. They were into drugs, the hardcore kind, and other things that are hard to explain. They had a bunch of tattoos and piercings... And he just doesn't like that type. In fact, since I've met you, I don't understand why I even settled for that type either."

I smiled at that.

Glad to know he finds me attractive even though I don't have a rude tattoo on my ankle.

He continued, "You are so much better than them. I guess I just settled because that's what everyone expected from me. They thought, 'Oh, well, Dean is a bad ass so his girlfriend must be too'. I don't know. And plus, how does a guy like me: average student, 'trouble maker', and unconventional job holder... Get a girl like you? Smart, funny, sexy, and a gorgeous perfection?"

I'm glad he thought all of those things about me, but why did he think that he wasn't good enough for me? Honestly, it should be the other way around.

"Dean, you're way more than you give yourself credit for. You are smart, you are funny. And the fact that you yourself are unconventional... Is the coolest, most bad ass thing in the world. You can be yourself and you make it seem like you don't care." I studied his expression after I said that, "Do you care, Dean?"

"Only when it comes to you." He replied. He then unlocked the Impala and we walked up the steps into the Styles' antique house. They bought the house on the end of Wayward Drive. The house that had been on sale for months and months on end; continuously lowering the cost so someone would buy it. We believed that it was supposedly haunted, but now with Dean and his father living there, that's probably no longer an issue.

"Dad, I'm home!" He called out as he rested his keys on the end table next to the door. His father came out from the kitchen while drying his hands on a hand towel,

"Oh, good. 'Cause I need you to-" he stopped at the sight of me, "Who is this?"

"Dad, this is Chloe. Chloe, Dad."

I took out my hand and greeted him with a "nice to meet you". Unfortunately, he just stared at my hand like it was, like, an alien hand or something. With that response, I awkwardly pulled my hand away.

He stared at Dean long and hard, "Dean. What did I tell you about bringing," He nodded his head over to me, "Girls around here?"

"Dad, I just wanted her to meet yo-"

"Well, maybe I didn't want to meet anyone today. Did you ever think of that?" He continued to dry his hands as he looked over at me, "I'm sorry about my son." he said.

"It's fine. I don't see anything wrong." I honestly replied.

"What's wrong, Chloe, is that Dean doesn't know how to follow the rules. He thinks that he just has the almighty power to break them whenever he wants."

Dean looked at him in disbelief. He just wanted me to meet the guy. It's not like we were raiding a house and asking him to help.

"I don't mean to be rude, sir, but I was the one who suggested meeting you. Dean was only following what I asked." I could feel Dean's eyes on me as I continued to lie, "So you should blame me, not him."

He stared at me for a while and asked, "What's your GPA, Chloe?"

Well. That's random.

I responded, "Uh, 3.67, sir."

He nodded, satisfied with the answer, "And what's your thoughts on anything paranormal?"

Answer this one right, Chloe.

"Well, if there's good in the world, there has to be evil, right? For example, if there's angels, there has to be demons. And if there are angels and demons, what happens to the souls that don't get damned to Hell or vice versa? I would think the only logical explanation, sir, would be the reason of paranormal phenomenon. Basically what I'm implying is the existence of spirits."

He squinted at me, "And why do you believe this?"

"I've had my experiences." I promptly answered.

He began nodding again and looked at Dean, "I'm glad you disobeyed me, boy. Now, don't screw this one up." And with that, he returned to the kitchen.

He looked at me with bewilderment, "Did that just happen?" he asked.

"I believe it did."

He smiled, "Bravo, Miss Thompson."

"Why thank you, Mr. Styles. It was an honor." I echoed in a cheesy, British accent.

Dean's father, John Styles, invited me to stay for dinner. So, as the night went on, we talked about how we met, our rat project, and school for the most part. Until Mr. Styles asked me about my personal paranormal experiences.

"So, what exactly is your experience with the paranormal, Chloe?"

I put down my fork, preparing myself for the story I was about to tell,

"Well, sir, it's not a good experience. Are you sure you want to hear it?"

They both nodded in anticipation.

"Well,..." I paused, trying to find an easy way to say this, "I was possessed by a demon once. And its name was Lilith."

I totally get the teen!Dean thing now. It makes a lot more sense when you put it that way. Thanks for explaining that; it really helped. But yeah. I will call you out on details I don't understand. You're going to really need to step up your game.

It's totally fine. I understand. It's really hard to mix fandoms, as you know. As for Dean's emotional side, I'm making him sensitive as a teenager so as he gets older, he becomes more shaded with his emotions. I have a plan with this story, and I ask that you trust me. Everything will make sense. And I know I made John say Idjit. Bobby says idgit. I get it. I have watched almost every single episode of every single season and I started this when I was still in Season 3. So things aren't lining up like I originally wanted them to because, well, things change. Dean really does care for Chloe. And I wanted to mix Dean and Harry and create Dean Styles-- a guy who is mysterious and cold at first but once you get to know him, he stays attached. With this said, because he's attached, he's very overprotective. And, if you recall, Dean from the show always says he's the reason people get hurt. I'm trying to portray that here. As Chloe becomes more in danger, Dean realizes this. I'm writing this way so I can show you HOW Dean became the Dean we know. I do like to sugarcoat things, but only because I'm setting you up for something unexpected. And yes, Mary isn't dead. I did that for a reason as well. This is an SPN and 1D fic but I am also altering the universe a bit. I know how Mary dies and everything of that nature... but I needed a way to bring Sam into the picture while having Louis' last name. I do appreciate your criticism and attention to detail though. It just means I need to step up my game :)

Okay. This is cute. And I'm trying. I'm really, really trying to understand why Dean would just cry like that (I'm on chapter 19 now).
Okay, so I'm being extremely protective of my favorite fandom. I should probably stop that. It's just all a little confusing and the way you're kinda jumbling everything around (John saying "idjit," Dean crying, Dean letting someone know he cares about that person on the first date, Mary not being dead, etc.), it's making me go just a little bit crazy over here.
I'm probably being very overdramatic about all this. We authors do need to change things a bit so everything fits the plotline, but to me it just seems like the entire "Supernatural" part of the plot is just how you kill things, what the things look like, and names.
So please excuse my criticism and rude-ish comments. I'm just being an overprotective fangirl.
