Angels and Demons (17+)

Castiel...? What Kind of Name Is That?

In a household not too far from Groove Grace hospital; a blonde, religious, teenage boy clenched his beaded cross chain and bowed his head.

Earlier that day, the boy attended a seminar with his youth group about God and His angels. He didn't believe the speaker at first, I mean, angels possessing humans? Now that's just insane. But, the longer he sat there and absorbed the man's words- the more he started to believe them.

"My fellow brothers and sisters," the man said, "Let the angels in! Once you do, you will be blessed and eternally full of His spirit! Why do this, you ask? Because only through you can angels perform their miracles. And they need you- you young, strong, pure souls to be their vessels! And if you accept them in, you are helping them accomplish a task that could not be accomplished in their true form."

The boy took these words with him to his home; a quaint, red, country-side farmhouse. And now, he was about to accept one of these angels in.

He continued to bow his head and fold his hands, "Lord? Angels?" he began, "If any of you can hear me... I accept. You may use me as one of your vessels to perform your works." He opened his left eye carefully, expecting some sort of miracle to occur, but nothing did.

"Hm. I guess it didn't work-" And as simply as that, a beam of light entered the household from the Heavens and possessed the young man. It seemed as though the winds picked up, and a great storm would blow through. But the strange phenomena only occur in his bedroom.

The boy collapsed to the ground and lied there unconscious for a while. But when he arose, a new being formed. And the teenage countenance and personality seemed to vanish as something of a wiser, more intelligent visage became apparent.

The angel possessing him walked mechanically to the closet and put on his trench coat. Then, he walked down the stairs... but was stopped by a voice at the door.

"Hey Niall, sweetie, where are you going so late at night?" The boy supposedly named Niall's mother called out to him with a hint of a country accent.

The being at the door turned his head slowly and looked directly towards the boy's mother, "My name is Castiel. I am an angel of the Lord... and I am not your son." He calmly turned the doorknob and walked out as he left Niall's mother there in shock and confusion.

Dean POV:

I sat there. In misery. In guilt. In anxiety. Waiting for an answer from the doctors or some form of clarity that would assure me that she was alright.

Just then, a blonde man in scrubs, who looked way too young to be a nurse (He actually looked... our age), appeared.

"Dean Styles?" He asked. I got up from my seat apprehensively and approached him.

"That's me. Is she alright?"

He gave no sign of reassurance as he monotonously replied, "You're going to have to come with me."

I walked with him, not even bothering to look back at the others.

He took me through various hallways and doors that it started to make my head spin. But, we finally stopped at room 3786... where Chloe laid unconscious and hooked up to numerous beeping machines.

I turned to the male nurse, "Is she alright?"

"She's in a medically induced coma and she-"

"Is she alright?!" I repeated a few notches louder, making the whole hallway stop and stare.

The nurse sighed and whispered, "Just come inside so we can talk about this."

I eventually grew silent and nodded while I followed him into room 3786.

I closed the door behind me and asked, "What's wrong with her, nurse?"

The man just simply stared at me and replied, "I'm no nurse. I'm an angel of God. You asked for me to come and perform a miracle." He paused, "Well, here I am."

"What?!" I screamed in disbelief, causing him to shush me. "You mean to tell me that you're an angel?" I asked in a hushed voice. He nodded. "You gotta be fucking kidding me."

He shook his head, "No.... my name is Castiel and I was sent here to heal your female companion."

"Castiel? What kind of name... Never mind. But, aren't you a little... young?"

"I'm a thousand years old," he answered while furrowing his brow, "This was the only vessel available. And my true form is about the size of your Chrysler building."

I looked at him with suspicion, "Well Cas,... can you heal her?"

"I prefer to be called 'Castiel' and yes I can."

I rolled my eyes, "I'm calling you Cas."

He gave me a stern look, "Rolling your eyes is a sin, you know." He kept the stare but then sighed grudgingly, "Fine. Call me Cas."

He began to take off his gloves and was about to place his hands on her before I stopped him.

"Wait, wait. What are you doing."

"You want me to heal her, don't you?" he asked, confused.

"Yeah, but that involves touching her?"

He shook his head, obviously annoyed, "Yes, it does. Now can you let me do my job?" I sighed and nodded slowly, allowing him to return to his work.

He pressed his fingers against her neck and her stitches and wounds miraculously disappeared. Then,... she gasped to life.

"Chloe...? Chloe! Are you alright?" I rushed over to her and sat by her side.

She looked towards Cas with wide eyes, "Who... Who are you?"

"I'm Castiel. I am an angel of-"

"The Lord blah blah blah... Long story short..." I smiled down at her, "He saved you, Chloe."

She returned it and placed a hand on my cheek, "No,... you saved me, Dean."

"... What?" I asked, "What... what are you talking about, sweetheart?" I questioned while stroking her hair.

"You-- You saved me from Nathan." She grinned again. I looked towards Cas and then back at her. But, instead of reading the obvious astonishment on my face, she drew me into a tight hug.

I slowly wrapped my arms around her as I continued to stroke her hair, thinking:

Dammit, I'm screwed.

What will she think when she finds out that it wasn't me who saved her? That it was, instead, Sammy? My brother?

Oh my god.

What if she leaves me for him?

I held her tighter.

...I guess she'll never know, then.

Notes

Hey guys! Just wanted to introduce Castiel really quick! Sorry if this seems rushed but I wanted to get this chapter done before youth group and before my computer breaks again.

But how is it? Do you like it? Do you like my photoshop skills with Niall being Cas?

Let me know! I love hearing from you guys and I love knowing that you all are enjoying it so much!

Love you most,

I totally get the teen!Dean thing now. It makes a lot more sense when you put it that way. Thanks for explaining that; it really helped. But yeah. I will call you out on details I don't understand. You're going to really need to step up your game.

@iceskatez
It's totally fine. I understand. It's really hard to mix fandoms, as you know. As for Dean's emotional side, I'm making him sensitive as a teenager so as he gets older, he becomes more shaded with his emotions. I have a plan with this story, and I ask that you trust me. Everything will make sense. And I know I made John say Idjit. Bobby says idgit. I get it. I have watched almost every single episode of every single season and I started this when I was still in Season 3. So things aren't lining up like I originally wanted them to because, well, things change. Dean really does care for Chloe. And I wanted to mix Dean and Harry and create Dean Styles-- a guy who is mysterious and cold at first but once you get to know him, he stays attached. With this said, because he's attached, he's very overprotective. And, if you recall, Dean from the show always says he's the reason people get hurt. I'm trying to portray that here. As Chloe becomes more in danger, Dean realizes this. I'm writing this way so I can show you HOW Dean became the Dean we know. I do like to sugarcoat things, but only because I'm setting you up for something unexpected. And yes, Mary isn't dead. I did that for a reason as well. This is an SPN and 1D fic but I am also altering the universe a bit. I know how Mary dies and everything of that nature... but I needed a way to bring Sam into the picture while having Louis' last name. I do appreciate your criticism and attention to detail though. It just means I need to step up my game :)

Okay. This is cute. And I'm trying. I'm really, really trying to understand why Dean would just cry like that (I'm on chapter 19 now).
Okay, so I'm being extremely protective of my favorite fandom. I should probably stop that. It's just all a little confusing and the way you're kinda jumbling everything around (John saying "idjit," Dean crying, Dean letting someone know he cares about that person on the first date, Mary not being dead, etc.), it's making me go just a little bit crazy over here.
I'm probably being very overdramatic about all this. We authors do need to change things a bit so everything fits the plotline, but to me it just seems like the entire "Supernatural" part of the plot is just how you kill things, what the things look like, and names.
So please excuse my criticism and rude-ish comments. I'm just being an overprotective fangirl.
