Angels and Demons (17+)

Midnight Memories (Part 1)

Chole POV:

"Oh, come on, Chloe! One more picture!" My mom insisted as she took more candid shots of me shoving my hand against the camera lens.

"Mom, you took like 200 already and Dean isn't even here yet."

"Oh but Chlo. You just look so..." Tears threatened to spill from her eyes as her voice shook, "You look like a princess, sweetheart." She wiped her tears with the heel of her hand and hugged me. I was pretty sure this was the menopause talking, or maybe like empty nest syndrome... But all I know is that it was a rollercoaster of mood swings. "Doesn't she, Tommy?"

Tommy rose his head from playing Flappy Bird and smiled with an eager nod, "You look like Cinderella, Chlo. Except way more prettier."

I smiled at that, "Oh come here, you little nugget." I said and gave him a big hug.

Dean POV:

"Dad, come on. I'm going to be late!" I shouted as I readjusted my tie for the fifth time.

Hands came and helped me adjust it for the last time, "Here, let me help you with that." Once finished, he handed me a small, plastic box.

"What's this?" I asked.

"A corsage. You put it on her wrist." My eyes widened at that and I stared at the box then up at my father.

"Oh God, I don't think I can do this."

His face looked at me in disbelief, "You fought demons, Dean. And THIS is what you're afraid of?"

"Yeah? Well you don't have to put a flower on their wrist and be something that you're completely not with them. You just stab them."

"Well, I give you that. Demon hunting is not like this at all." He placed his hands on my shoulders, "I want you to have a normal, teenage experience, Dean. For once in your life." He brushed off the place where his hands were, "And who says you don't have to be yourself? That's what she wants, you idget." He playfully slapped me across the back of the head, "You'll be fine."

I grinned slightly, "Thanks, Dad." He then slipped some holy water into my jacket pocket.

"Put this on her hand. It will sting... But it will heal that demon scar." Pulling me into a tight hug, he whispered, "Have fun. I love you, Dean."

"Love you, too."

Chloe POV:

I looked nervously at the clock, watching the time tick by. I mean, what do you do in this situation? It's awkward to watch TV while all dolled up, and sitting in a dress is uncomfortable enough as it is so... I leaned against the table and watched my little brother play Flappy Bird as the minutes continued to pass as slowly as possible.

Finally, after about 15 minutes, the doorbell rang.

"Oh! I'll get it! Chlo! Go upstairs."

"What? By wh-"

"Just go!" She shouted as she shoved me towards the stairs.

"Okay! Okay! I'm going!"

I retreated upstairs as my mom answered the door.

"Oh, Dean! You look so handsome."

"Thanks Mrs. Thompson. Where's Chloe?"

She gestured behind her, "Just finishing getting ready. Why don't you come in?" From where I stood, I could partially see Dean. And he looked... Damn. He knew how to clean up nicely. "Chloe! Dean's here!" My mother yelled up towards me.

Oh, now I get it. She wants me to have one of those Cinderella moments where the girl comes down the stairs gracefully and everyone's in awe. Gotcha.

I descended the stairs as carefully as possible with one hand on the rail. When I looked back up, all I saw was him. It was just me. And him. Nobody else in the room at the time. I couldn't explain the feeling, but I can say that the tips of my fingers were tingly, and my heart was about ready to jump out of my chest. I gave a nervous smile as he returned it with a smile of admiration.

Mom continued to take pictures as I finally reached the bottom of the stairs. Phew. Thank God I didn't trip.

"Look, Chlo! He got you a corsage!" My mother squealed, "Put it on!"

He carefully removed it from the box and slipped it onto my wrist. His poor hands were shaking so I held them in mine and whispered, "You didn't need to get me this. And there's no need to be nervous."

He smiled slightly, "You look phenomenal, Chloe."

"Thanks. You do too." I adjusted his bow tie slightly to the left, "I love the bow tie, by the way."

We were interrupted by the flashes of a camera and giddiness coming from the direction of where my mom stood. So, we got into position and posed for the camera.

About 25 shots later, someone had to stop the madness or we would've never gotten there. "Okay, Mom, we have to go now!"

"Wait, one more pi-"

"Love you, bye!" I shouted as we rushed out the door. We ran, hand in hand, to the Impala and as the doors shut behind us, there was a slight moment of silence before we both burst into laughter.

He let out a sigh, "Your mom has a thing for 'capturing the moment', huh?"

"Yeah, she's always been like that. She started ever since I could walk. Hasn't stopped since." I paused, "I hope you don't mind."

He grazed his thumb across the scar on my hand as our fingers intertwined. He started up the Impala and smiled softly, "Never." He paused as he remembered something, "Give me your hand for a second." I knew he was talking about the one with the demon scar, so I handed it over to him reluctantly as he slowly poured water over it. I took in a sharp breath and squeezed my eyes shut as the pain stung and intensified. It must've been holy water. He lightly kissed the spot where the demon scar was previously and apologized, "Sorry, I should've warned you that it was going to sting. But, at least it's healed." He smiled.

"Thanks." I responded with a smile of my own and as simple as that, we took off.

Once we had arrived, Dean took my arm in his and escorted me into the school. For someone who was born and raised tough and reckless, he sure knew how to be a proper gentleman too. And they say chivalry is dead...

"You don't have to do this, ya know," I said, commenting about the way our arms were interlocked.

"No, I want to." He smirked, "It's to show all these sorry bastards that you're mine." His smirk was contagious as it brought a similar one to my face.

The music was booming from wall to wall as we walked inside. Our school was one of the cool ones that didn't hire a DJ. They were the ones that would rather have a live band who went to Groove Wood High perform. And I didn't blame them. The mainstream music that played on the radio nowadays all sounded the same to me.

"Hey! Thompson!" I turned around towards the voice to find that Clara was dressed in a full length emerald gown with none other than Sam Tomlinson on her arm. "You look great!" She continued as she shouted over the music.

"Thanks! You too!" I shouted back, "Care to introduce me?"

"Chloe this is Sam. Sam, Chloe." He took my hand and gently shook it.

He proceeded with a smile, "Nice to meet you, Chloe. Who's your date? I've never seen him around before." He was referencing to Dean.

"Oh! Sam this is Dean. Dean, Sam." Dean looked at Sam's face with curiosity as he firmly gripped his hand.

"Nice to meet you, Sam." He said, "I'm sorry, but, have we met before?"

Sam shrugged, "I must have one of those faces, I guess." The conversation was interrupted by Clara insisting that dances were for dancing. Not for socializing.

I leaned over to Dean, "Yeah, you're aware that I can't dance, right?"

"Just follow my lead." He replied nonchalantly as he pulled me along with him onto the dance floor.

I was sure this was a night that I would never forget.

And boy, could I ever be more right.

I totally get the teen!Dean thing now. It makes a lot more sense when you put it that way. Thanks for explaining that; it really helped. But yeah. I will call you out on details I don't understand. You're going to really need to step up your game.

@iceskatez
It's totally fine. I understand. It's really hard to mix fandoms, as you know. As for Dean's emotional side, I'm making him sensitive as a teenager so as he gets older, he becomes more shaded with his emotions. I have a plan with this story, and I ask that you trust me. Everything will make sense. And I know I made John say Idjit. Bobby says idgit. I get it. I have watched almost every single episode of every single season and I started this when I was still in Season 3. So things aren't lining up like I originally wanted them to because, well, things change. Dean really does care for Chloe. And I wanted to mix Dean and Harry and create Dean Styles-- a guy who is mysterious and cold at first but once you get to know him, he stays attached. With this said, because he's attached, he's very overprotective. And, if you recall, Dean from the show always says he's the reason people get hurt. I'm trying to portray that here. As Chloe becomes more in danger, Dean realizes this. I'm writing this way so I can show you HOW Dean became the Dean we know. I do like to sugarcoat things, but only because I'm setting you up for something unexpected. And yes, Mary isn't dead. I did that for a reason as well. This is an SPN and 1D fic but I am also altering the universe a bit. I know how Mary dies and everything of that nature... but I needed a way to bring Sam into the picture while having Louis' last name. I do appreciate your criticism and attention to detail though. It just means I need to step up my game :)

Okay. This is cute. And I'm trying. I'm really, really trying to understand why Dean would just cry like that (I'm on chapter 19 now).
Okay, so I'm being extremely protective of my favorite fandom. I should probably stop that. It's just all a little confusing and the way you're kinda jumbling everything around (John saying "idjit," Dean crying, Dean letting someone know he cares about that person on the first date, Mary not being dead, etc.), it's making me go just a little bit crazy over here.
I'm probably being very overdramatic about all this. We authors do need to change things a bit so everything fits the plotline, but to me it just seems like the entire "Supernatural" part of the plot is just how you kill things, what the things look like, and names.
So please excuse my criticism and rude-ish comments. I'm just being an overprotective fangirl.
