This is Me
Chapter Six
"You know what? Who cares! I'm dead anyway!" I spoke to myself, my cold, quiet flat echoed.
"Tegan! Are you in here?" Perry's voice rattle me from my thoughts.
"Yeah! In my bedroom." I heard her walk through the flat and pop into my room, looking at my outfit. She smiled widely and came completely around the corner, revealing her outfit. I hoped up and pointed from her clothes to mine.
"WE MATCH!" I squealed. She nodded.
"This calls for a day out, in our cheesy matching outfits! Do you have your phone case?"
"Yeah, I never Take it off." She pulled her phone out.
"These are just so cute." I nodded in agreement. "SO where do we go? The mall. What are we gonna do thee? Shop." She answered herself while pulling me to the kitchen.
"Per, I like your necklace." She froze, her hand drifting up to her neck and fiddling with the charm. A tear fell from her eye.
"Thanks." She dropped my hand. "It was a gift." She walked to the fridge and pulled out a bag of carrots, throwing them at me. "Eat." She sat on a bar stool next to me. I began to chomp on the orange veggies.
"You know, eating carrots is surprisingly dirty if you think about it." I slowly, skimmed my teeth along a carrot, licking the tip, and slowly, slowly biting into it.
"Ew!" She waved a hand in her face, fanning herself. I did my best to seductively eat the rest of the carrot.
"See what I mean?"I laughed as she cringed.
"That disgustingly true." She ripped the bag of carrots away from me. "No more for you." Back in the fridge they went.
"Sure. Where to first?"
"I just kinda want to sit around and talk now." She shrugged. "I'm just not feeling up to shopping now." We walked into the family room, next to the fire place. I know what you're thinking, How did I get such a nice flat? Well, Zayn gave me an unlimited amount of money, so I am a billionaire.
"So Perry." I faced her.
"I have no idea what you're going to ask me, but whatever it is, don't."
"Who pissed in your cereal?"
"Nosy friends." Wow. Not gonna lie, that hurt.
"Well excuse me for telling you your necklace is pretty." I could feel my defensive side getting fired up.
"I know you want to know what it is, and I'm not going to tell you. Ever. Why? Cause you're a bitch." Well, ok.
"If you really think that, I'm sorry." I stood up and went to get popcorn.
"I do think that." She followed me.
"That's fine."
"You're not going to do anything about that?"
"What do you want me to do?"
"I don't know! Get mad?"
"Are you looking for some sort of release for past transgressions?"
"What?"
"Hit me." I stepped in front of her.
"No."
"Come on, Hit me." I stepped closer.
"I said no!"
"I SAID HIT ME!" I shouted.
"NEVER!"
"BITCH! HIT ME!" SLAP! Hello.
"I'm so sorry." She held her hands to her chest.
"Feel better?" I asked.
"Yeah, actually. How'd you know that work? Doesn't your cheek hurt?"
"i just figured you were having issues with something." I shrugged.
"Oh. Ok." She sat down on the floor. "Thanks."
"No problem! How about shopping?"
"Later. Can I spend the night tonight?" I don't want to be alone."
"Sure baby cakes." She giggled, her blonde hair falling in her face. She's so beautiful, and it's my job to protect her from whatever is hurting her. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. Right?
