Stephanie’s P.O.V.
I headed back into the kitchen with my iPod, and my expression was apparently clear to Rachel.
“My laptop is on the counter if you want to use that,” she suggested as she finished eating breakfast.
I slid across the kitchen floor and reached for her laptop, sitting among many black cords and other electronics. I picked it up, untangled it from the mess, and ran back into the living room, typing a reply:
Hey Harry, yeah I’m not doing anything today. When do you want to Skype? I’m getting the stuff ready right now :D
I sat down on the couch and opened the laptop, typing in the passwords. A few minutes later, my iPod lit up with a message from Harry:
Yay! You replied! I was scared you wouldn’t and you’d see the message later and we wouldn’t get to Skype. I’m heading upstairs to the computer room right now, too :)
Butterflies swarmed my stomach as I opened up Skype and immediately a call from Harry popped up. I hit “Accept” and the screen blew up with his face.
“Hey Harry!” I practically screamed, smiling like a complete idiot, but I didn’t care.
“Ouch, geez Steph! Don’t blow out the speakers!” he chuckled, turning the volume down on his side.
“Haha, sorry,” I giggled.
“It’s so great to finally see you,” Harry said.
“I know! You look very different, but that’s a good thing,” I commented, realizing how cute and hot he’s become.
“You look great, too! Damn Steph!” he responded, looking impressed.
“Thanks, but I highly doubt I’m that pretty,” I admitted.
He gave me a look through the screen.
“Ok, new subject?” I suggested, feeling slightly uncomfortable. “What’s this exciting news you have for me?”
Rachel entered the living room and sat next to me on the couch, her face appearing in the screen, too.
“Hey who’s that?” Harry asked.
“This is Rachel, my best friend I told you about,” I answered.
“You didn’t tell me he was this hot!” Rachel whispered in my ear. I laughed and shrugged at her.
“Hey, Rachel! Wait, are you the best friend Niall’s been talking about?” Harry asked.
“Yeah, that’s probably me. Why, is he there?!” Rachel squealed.
“Yeah, let me go get him,” Harry replied, smiling. He got up and left our view to go find Niall.
“Eeeeep!” Rachel screamed, facing me. I giggled and rolled my eyes.
“Happy?” I asked.
“Yes!” she yelped.
“Hey guys, I found him,” Harry declared, and we saw blurry movements on the screen until the 2 boys sat down and the camera refocused itself.
“Aaah! Hi Niall!” Rachel eagerly greeted, waving.
“Hey Rach!” Niall responded, smiling.
“So, you two are in a band now, huh?” Rachel began.
“Yup, and that’s the exciting news I wanted to tell you, Steph, but apparently you already know,” Harry replied.
“I kind of did, Rachel showed me a video of it last night and I thought it was a dream until she told me this morning that it was real and now I’m sitting here talking to you,” I explained.
“Well, that works,” Harry said.
“So, how’s life been over there?” I asked.
Harry and Niall both related their stories on The X-Factor and how they’re feeling about all of this. The reactions were basically the same: excited, nervous, and surprised.
Rachel and I took turns telling our stories, informing Harry that Rachel and Niall knew each other from the past. Niall already knew about Harry and I from his and Rachel’s Skype last week, so we didn’t really need to explain that. But there was one question I really wanted to ask…
“So, do we get to meet the rest of your band?” I questioned, once we were finished telling our stories.
They turned to each other with a little smile.
“Hmm, I don’t know, Niall, should they get to see the other boys?” Harry smirked.
“I’m not sure, Harry, do they deserve it?” Niall played back.
“Oh, come on, please?” Rachel pleaded.
“All right, all right, fine, I’ll go find them,” Niall said, and stood up and left the room.
We talked to Harry a little bit until Niall came back with the rest of the boys.
“So, this is Liam, Louis, and Zayn,” he introduced as all of them came into view.
“And this is Rachel and Stephanie,” Harry named off, pointing at us.
“Hello,” we chimed together, waving at them through the screen. Damn, these boys are hot!
“Hey,” they replied back.
All of us talked together and we explained to Liam, Zayn, and Louis our situation with Harry and Niall and they seemed really surprised but happy. They also shared their stories about being on The X-Factor and we really got to know all of the boys. Today was going great so far, and it barely even started.
Time went by so fast and it was already past noon here and it was about dinnertime for the boys in England, so we said goodbye to them and ended our video chat.
As I exited out of Skype, I couldn’t contain my happiness. Together, Rachel and I jumped up and down and screamed, falling back into the pile of blankets.
“How did we get so lucky,” I asked rhetorically.
“I don’t know, but it’s crazy,” Rachel answered.
“It’s definitely crazy,” I replied.
We laid there for a few minutes, taking in the whole conversation that lasted about an hour and a half.
“So what do we do now?” Rachel questioned.
“I don’t know, my mind is still playing games on me. I’m not sure if I believe everything that just happened, even though the proof was right there in front of my face.”
Honestly, how did we get so lucky? This entire time I’ve been asking myself this question, and there simply is no easy answer. None of us can believe anything. We can’t believe that our best friends from across the world are in a boyband together, and we can’t believe that we are best friends with each other and with a new boyband. This is a completely crazy life. Woah…

Hey guys, sorry for the late update (again). We're trying to write more, but it obviously isn't working. So I figured that instead of promising the next update, just keep checking back every once in a while to see if we've updated (we won't let it be more than a month).
