Love In Hell (Sequel to Running And Fighting)
Chapter 2
TARA'S POV
"Sup loner?" Justin smiled, breaking the soothing silence
I just smiled in response.
I couldn't answer.
I knew if I opened my mouth, I would slip.
My eyes were locked onto the sunset, the sun starting to hide behind the waves of the Canadian ocean.
"Beautiful, ain't she?" I commented

"Yeah.." Justin breathes,"she really is..."
I turned to him, seeing that his eyes were focused on me, a shy smile on his face.
I couldn't help but blush.
"I'm talking about the sunset Justin." I giggled, looking back over to the photo perfect site
He laughed a contagious laugh, making me smile slightly.
"Yeah, I guess it's pretty, but nothing compared to you."
Justin and I have had a little romance for a while now. But i'm not gonna lie, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Niall.
"I feel like I am back in Junior high." I giggled shaking my head
"How so?" Justin asked, turning his body to face me.
"Sitting on a beach, as a guy says cheesy pick up lines, every young girl dreams about this happening, and here I am." I explained, I couldn't stop smiling, because it's true.
"and is being here, a good thing?" Justin smirked, leaning in closer to me, his eyes fixed onto my lips.
I mimicked his actions, and leaned in closer to, our faces just inches apart.
"it's a very good thing." I whispered, as we slowly came closer and closer
but I stopped midway, when I felt something cold and tingly at my feet, I looked down to see that I had gotten water on my feet, which meant....
OH NO
Justin had his eyes closed, which gave me enough time to quickly cover up.
I quickly looked around me, looking for cover.
To the left: Nothing.
To the right: Nothing.
My feet were starting to scale up, and I did what was good for now, I buried them into the sand just as Justin opened his eyes, and awkwardly cleared his throat.
"Um...so...how have you been?"
"I-I've been good," I quickly responded, biting my lip, trying to keep his attention on the top half of my body.
"That's go-are you okay? You seem kidnda pale." his eyes were roaming all over my face and his eyebrows were furrowed
"I'm peachy keen!" I smiled, "j-just um, a little cold, would you mind fetching a blanket for me?" I pleaded
He quickly got up and ran to the house.
Oh great, this is exactly what I was hoping wouldn't happen.
How could I have been so careless?
Justin came back running with pillows and blankets piled up in his hands.
I quickly reached for the biggest blanket he had and covered my entire body with it, just in time.
"Whoah, someone's anxious" he laughed sitting down beside me again.
But I didn't respond, I knew I would probably say something I would regret.
"Tara can I ask you something?"
I nodded and my heart began to race, what could he possibly want to ask?
Was he suspicious?
I held the blanket tighter into my half mermaid body, wanting to get out of this scene.
"What did I do wrong?" he asked, his voice getting shaky.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean, what did I do? You act so different around me now, like you don't want to talk to me."
"Justin, I almost kissed you moments ago, why wouldn't I want to talk to you?" I asked, caught of guard by his question.
"Exactly, almost, you pulled away, and now you're acting all anxious and...dare I say...weird."
I shot him a firm look.
"Trust me Justin, you're not the reason why." I chuckled, looking down at my blanket covered fin.
"Then why-"
"Justin you're not the reason why! Can we drop the subject?!" I burst out, tired of our current conversation, but feeling bad afterwards.
"I'm sor-"
"Nah it's all good." he interrupted, picking up the blankets and pillows from the sand. "We should head inside now, it's getting dark."
"I'll go in a bit."
And without another word, he headed back inside.
I really want to tell them, but I can't.
Would they think of me as a monster?
JUSTIN'S POV
She always acts up around me. I won't stop until I know the reason why.
"How did it go?" Dj asked as I entered the kitchen.
"She blew up." I stated, grabbing the gallon of milk from the fridge.
"Oooh how bad?"
"Pretty bad..." I responded taking a big gulp straight from the gallon.
"Did you find out though?"
"Nope, nothing new."
We heard the door open and turned our attention to a hurried Tara who just gave us a wide-eyed look, before she headed up the stairs just as Niall was coming down.
"Hey Tara can I talk-" he didn't get to finish as Tara just pushed through him and ran to her room, followed by a loud slammed door.
DJ, Niall and I exchanged confused looks.
"What was that about?" Niall asked, looking back and fourth between DJ and I.
I just shrugged.
Niall and I never really got along. I knew him and Tara had a thing before her and I did. He never really did anything to me, I guess I was just jealous.
