World Tour
Loubers
***Harry Styles***
Saturday, August 11th, 2012 – North London, England
“Shh, Lou,” I whispered as I hugged Louis after our fight with the band, both of us crying. He took a deep breath and calmed down.
“Are you mad at me like Liam said?” he asked, pulling his face away to look at mine, our arms still holding each other’s.
“No,” I shook my head. “I’m not mad. I’m – I’m jealous, and I miss you,” I stammered, already emotional enough as it was without having to get into this with Louis.
“Harry,” he said, sympathetically. “If it helps, I’ve missed you too. Everywhere I go with Abby just makes me think how much more fun it would be with you instead.” That made me smile, and it also made me feel bad because I knew I was part of the reason he couldn’t take me to those places. But Louis understood where I was at with that, so I needed to understand this whole Abby thing. Still, it didn’t seem necessary.
“I feel like the world knows about you guys,” I continued. “I mean, you’ve made it clear you’re dating, I just – I wish you weren’t always with her now.” Louis nodded.
“I know,” he said. “I’ve told her the same thing. But she’s a method actress; she’s just trying to fully get acquainted with the role first and then I promise things will slow down. Besides, you know how she is – she’s energetic and always wants to be doing something.” Yeah, like you, I thought.
Every time I had seen Abby around Louis, there were more signs that she was into him as more than just a “friend”. I kept telling myself that was the jealousy talking, but my heart said otherwise. Louis hadn’t noticed – probably because he was used to girls fawning all over him – and I didn’t want to say anything because, well, it hadn’t become a problem yet, not really, and if I could avoid a fight I would. Besides, now that the rest of the band hated us, Louis and I needed to stick together.
“Are you okay?” I asked Louis. He took another deep breath then nodded.
“I’m sure this will all blow over again like it did last time,” he said, but his voice didn’t sound too convincing.
The doorbell rang, and I went to answer it while Louis washed his face. Abby was standing on the other side. I tried to hide my disappointment.
“Hi!” she exclaimed, her usually peppy self.
“Hi, Abby,” I said, and stepped aside to let her in.
“Is Loubers here?” Loubers? “We have plans to go to shopping.” That was news to me.
“Yeah, he’s in the bathroom,” I told her, just as Louis walked out.
“Hi!” he said, surprised to see Abby. “What are you do – oh, crap, Abby, I totally forgot,” Louis said. “We had kind of a rough morning…” he trailed off.
“Oh no!” she gasped. “What happened?”
“I don’t want to talk about it,” Louis said. “Would it be a huge inconvenience to reschedule?”
“I mean, I drove all the way over here…” Abby said. I so badly wanted to roll my eyes.
“Well, stay for a bit, eat lunch with us,” Louis offered. Really? “I’m just not up for going anywhere.”
“Okay!” Abby exclaimed. “But how about I make lunch and give Harry a break from cooking?” Okay, so maybe she wasn’t as bad as I thought…
“Be my guest,” I told her politely.
Abby cooked lunch, and it was actually pretty good. The three of us ate in the kitchen, and then picked out a movie to watch and settled on the couch, Abby having no desire to leave. Louis sat between the two of us and put his arm around me. It didn’t seem to bother Abby at first, but then she slid closer to him and rested against his side. My chest filled with anger.
