The music was pounding and I could barely see past the flashing lights. I pushed my blonde bangs out of my face as I served another drunken customer at the club I worked.

‘Having fun Samii’

I looked to where the faint shout came from and stood at the other end of the bar was my best friend Grace serving an obviously drunk man staring at her chest.

‘The time of my life darling’ I called back.

Grace laughed and gave me her dazzling smile showing all her pearly white teeth. I had known Grace for about 2 years when we both started working at Purple Moon. Grace was my only friend in the world and she was all I needed in life.

After about an hour or so it started to get quieter as people started to stagger out of the club and find their way home. I started to wipe down the surface when I looked over and saw Grace talking to a guy over the bar. The guy was blonde and had tattoos all up his arms, not my type of person but I could tell from Grace’s over enthusiastic laugh and her wide smile she was trying to flirt. After a few minutes he handed her a piece of paper and walked out the club. I made a mental note to ask her about him later.

I looked at my watch, 1:15am, time for me and grace to head home back to our flat for the night. I was ready to get into bed and pass out until at least tomorrow afternoon before our next shift.
