Its Love Actually
Chapter 21
Today when I woke I was really excited. I was getting my cast off for good. I had had it on for a few weeks and I was more than ready to get it off.
“HARRY WAKE UP!” I shouted shaking Harry awake.
“Well good morning.” Harry said in a really sexy morning voice.
“I’m getting my cast off today!” I shouted.
“How do you have so much energy it’s like eleven?” Harry said rubbing his eyes.
“Just wake up so we can go.” I said kissing Harry on the cheek and springing out of bed.
Harry followed slowly after me.
“We can pick up something to eat on the way.” I said.
“Ok.” Harry said groggily.
I could tell he was tired and wasn’t in the mood for being all jumpy and excited so I rushed over to him and wrapped my arms around his waist.
“I love you.” I mumbled burying my face into his chest.
“I love you too.” Harry said kissing the top of my head.
I swayed him back and forth, and he finally produced a small smile.
“Can you go get ready now babe.” I said with a pouty face.
“Anything for you love.” Harry said smiling.
I grabbed his hands and rushed him upstairs where we got dressed. It was raining out today so he let me wear one of his sweatshirts.
“Are you ready Harry?” I called from the door.
“Yeah. We don’t have to be there for like a half hour there is no need to rush.” Harry said walking down the stairs.
“Harry Styles, I have been walking around like a penguin stuck in the mud for like a month. I am getting this stupid thing off today and I am extremely happy about it. The least you could do is fake excitement.” I said placing a hand on my hip.
“I’m sorry. I know you’re excited but I’m tired baby. Bear with me.” Harry said.
“Fine. Fine. I won’t be mad at you. But you have to help me walk when I get this off the doctor said that it would painful.” I stated.
“Ok. I promise. But if you start crying I’m carrying you everywhere.” Harry said.
“Deal.” I answered.
Harry took my hand and we walked out to the car. He opened the door for me, and then went around to the other side and got in. We drove to the hospital, and stopped on the way to grab some lunch. We ate on the way to the hospital.
When we got there I practically flew out of the car.
“Calm down babe.” Harry laughed and grabbed my hand.
We walked into the hospital, and they brought us back to the room where they would remove my cast, and help me walk a little.
“Hello Miss Alana.” My doctor said walking in.
“Hey!” I squealed.
“Well someone is excited.” He laughed.
I smiled, and he began to remove my cast.
“Alright, now, everything is looking good. There is no swelling, and you’ll be able to walk with no physical therapy. For a few days, it will hurt a lot to walk. The more you walk the faster the pain will go away. I don’t recommend walking far distances. Keep in up and down the street or up and down the stairs, around the backyard, small things like that. No running, jumping, dancing, or acrobatics for another two weeks. Any questions?” the doctor said.
“No that’s all. Thank you.” I said.
“Have a nice day Miss Alana.” My doctor said, and left the room.
Harry and I stayed behind. Harry stood up off the table, and got in front of me.
“Ready?” He asked.
“I’m scared. What if it hurts really bad?” I asked.
“Then you can sit down. It’ll be fine. Like the doctor said the more you walk the faster the pain will go away.” Harry answered.
I nodded my head, and slowly placed my feet on the ground, but not putting any pressure on my hurt foot.
“You can do it babe.” Harry said.
I grabbed onto his shoulders, and stood up. I immediately yelped in pain, and buried my face into Harry.
“Shh…it’s okay. Just walk slow it’ll get better.” Harry said holding onto me, and walking backwards slowly.
I walked slowly, still buried in Harry’s shoulder. I was trying not to cry, but I didn’t know how much longer I could hold it in.
Harry kept walking with me, but the pain wasn’t going away. I stopped walking.
“I can’t do it.” I mumbled into Harry’s shoulder.
“You want me to carry you to the car?” Harry asked.
“No. I want to walk.” I said.
“Lana, if it hurts, we can just walk more when we are home.” Harry said.
“I know, but I don’t want to give up.” I said.
“It’s not giving up if you try later. I’ll carry you to the car, and you can practice walking at home on like pillows.” Harry said.
I pulled away from him and smiled.
“You always know what to say don’t you?” I said to Harry.
Harry smiled and kissed my forehead. He picked me up, and walked out to the car. He placed me inside, and then we drove home.
When we got there, he carried me inside, and brought me to the kitchen. He set me down on the counter.
“I am going to set up this house as your crash course walking place.” Harry said.
I laughed, and he continued.
“I’ll put every pillow and soft object on the floor, and you can walk around in peace.” Harry said smiling.
With that, he ran off and began covering the floor in fluffy stuff. When he was done, he came over to me and grabbed my hands.
“You can do it baby.” Harry said.
I grabbed his hands, and placed my feet on the floor. Harry helped me walk around, and my foot still hurt really badly, but all the stuff on the floor was a distraction.
Harry walked me around the house in circles for almost three hours. After walking for so long my foot was starting to feel a little better. Harry and I were having a pretty good time too. He put on the music, and sang obnoxiously too it, causing me to laugh hysterically.
We kept walking and walking, and then my phone started to go off. Harry left me standing, and went to grab my phone.
“It’s a text from your mom.” He said.
“What did she say?” I asked.
“She wants you to call her immediately.” He said.
“Dial her number.” I said getting nervous.
Harry dialed her number, and ran over to me with the phone. She answered on the first ring.
“Hello? Mom? What’s going on?” I asked.
“Hi baby. I need to talk to you.” She said.
“Mom are you crying?” I asked.
“Baby, can I come over? Or are you and Harry busy?” she asked.
“No, of course you can come over. I just got my cast off and was practicing walking. Come over it’s fine.” I said.
My mom said she was on her way, and then we hung up. I looked over at Harry nervously.
“Alana don’t worry. Don’t jump to conclusions everything is probably fine.” Harry said.
“My mom never cries Harry. Something is wrong.” I said.
Harry walked over, and wrapped his arms around me. He kissed my temple.
“Everything is going to be fine. No matter what it is, I’m here for you.” He said.
“Thank you.” I answered.
I leaned up, and kissed him sweetly on the lips. He kissed me back. Harry hugged me tightly, and held me close.
“Don’t let me go okay Harry. Just don’t.” I said nestling myself into him.
“I never will Alana.” Harry said kissing me again.
The doorbell rang, and Harry started to walk away to get it.
“No Harry!” I shouted running after him.
“You aren’t supposed to run!” Harry said grabbing onto me.
“I want to be with you.” I said.
Harry wrapped his arms around me and smiled kissing my head.
“I need to get the door now.” Harry said.
I hopped into his arms, and he carried me to the door. Harry opened it, and my mom stood there a sobbing mess.
“Mum come in.” I said.
Harry shuffled her in, and we walked to the couch. Harry sat down with me in his lap, and my mom sat across from us.
“Mom what’s wrong?” I asked.
“I can’t do this anymore.” She said sobbing.
“Do what?” I asked.
“Ever since you left your father and I, we’ve been going downhill. Nothing is here to keep us close. I found out that…Alana…” She said.
She breathed in deeply and continued to cry.
“Your father cheated on me.” She said finally.
I was shocked.
“Does he know you know?” I asked.
“Yes. I confronted him. Alana your father and I are getting a divorce.” She stated.
She wiped her eyes, as mine welled up with tears. My parents had been together for almost thirty years.
“I need to call him.” I said.
“Alana, don’t be mad at him.” My mom said.
“He ruined everything!” I shouted.
Harry held me close to his chest, and I cried. My dad had cheated on my mom. I know it happens to a lot of couples, but it is so hard and so different when it’s happening in your family and worse to your parents.
I stayed and comforted my mom for a while, and then she left. She was staying at a hotel until she found a place without my dad.
I logged onto my computer, to email my dad, and on the very first page of the computer was a picture of Harry holding hands with some girl.
“WHO IS SHE!?” I screamed.
Harry rushed into the room and was shocked by the image of he and Christina Aguilera holding hands on the screen.
“That’s fake Alana.” He stated right away.
“How can I believe that!?” I cried.
“You have to trust me. I would never do that to you. Ever.” Harry said.
“Harry my mom and dad are getting a divorce over this. And you went, and you did the same thing to me.” I said sobbing.
“Alana I didn’t though. This is photo shopped. It’s some girl sitting behind her computer starting drama.” Harry said.
I stood up, barely able to walk, and left the room.
“You have to believe me.” Harry said, close to tears.
“How could I Harry? After everything, how could you do this to me?” I said tears flowing.
“I didn’t cheat on you!” Harry said in a pleading tone.
“Harry we slept together. You think that would mean something.” I said shaking my head.
Harry was in tears now.
“What can I say to make you believe me?” he asked.
“Nothing.” I spat.
“Fine. The get out.” Harry said pointing at the door.
“HARRY WAKE UP!” I shouted shaking Harry awake.
