Its Love Actually
Chapter 13
Harry and I went to sleep really late that night. When I woke up Harry was already gone at the studio. I decided I would go for a run. The fans seemed to have calmed down so it was safe. I grabbed an apple, and then left for a run.
I was going to run a few miles, since I hadn’t run in a while, and needed to get back in shape. I had my iPod in, and my music blasting. Once I got into town, a small crowd started to follow me. I was a little nervous, but I didn’t think too much of it.
As I kept running, the crowd following me got larger. I started to go faster, until I was sprinting. Then they chased after me. They were clearly supposed fans of One Direction.
Out of nowhere one jumped on my back, and I went crashing to the ground. I yelped in pain, as a felt a piercing pain in my knees. My hair was being pulled and people were cussing at me, and screaming. I was trying my best to fight everyone off, but things just got worse when I tried.
After a while, I blacked out.
Harry P.O.V
When I got home from the studio, Alana was gone. She left a note saying she went out for a run, and she would be back later. I figured whatever. I didn’t know when she had left, so I didn’t know how long it would be until she got back.
I sat out in the back waiting for her. I was going to surprise her tonight, by taking her favorite restaurant, and then we were going to meet up with Liam and Danielle and go bowling. It was going to be really fun, and a good way to keep her mind off of everything that has been happening lately.
It had been three hours since I got home, and Alana still wasn’t back. I was starting to wonder where she could be.
I called her. The phone rang, and rang, and rang, and rang. Then it went to voicemail. Maybe she couldn’t talk?
I texted her. No answer. Now I was nervous. She had been gone for a while, and I hadn’t heard from her, or get in touch with her. I called her mom. Alana and I have been friends forever, so her mom and I are pretty close.
“Hi Harry.” He mom said.
“Hi, have you seen or heard from Alana?” I asked.
“No sweetie, sorry. Why is she okay? Did you get in a fight?” her mom asked.
“No, everything was fine last night, and she left me a note this morning saying she was going for a run, but she never came back. I don’t know where she is, and I’m freaking out.” I said.
“I’m sure everything is fine, maybe she stopped somewhere?” she suggested.
“No she would be back by now, I got back almost four hours ago.” I said.
“Would calling the police be over reacting?” she asked.
“I don’t know.” I answered shaking my head.
We discussed things for a little while longer, and then hung up. I decided to call the police. They said they would go and look for her.
I sat and waited by the phone. I couldn’t even think of what might have happened. I had cancelled the date night with Liam, but didn’t explain why. I couldn’t accept the fact that something might actually be wrong with my Lana.
My phone rang. It was the police officer I had talked to earlier. I answered right away.
“Did you find her?” I asked urgently.
“Yes.” The officer sighed.
“What? Well is she okay?” I said nervously.
“Not really, when we found her, she was nearly dead. She is badly beaten, and in very critical condition. They took her to the hospital; you should head down there now.” The officer said.
My heart dropped, and I started seeing spots. I don’t know how, but I made it to the hospital. I ran inside, straight to the front desk.
“Alana Goldberg! I’m looking for Alana Goldberg!” I shouted at the lady.
“She is up in the Intensive Care unit, you can’t see her right now.” The lady said.
“Please.” I begged.
“I’m sorry but it’s against regulation, you can see her another time.” She said.
I walked away, and went to wait in the waiting room outside of the ICU. I called Alana’s mom on the way here. She arrived shortly after me.
I got up and gave her a hug.
“This is all my fault.” I said.
“Why?” her mom asked.
“The cops said it was teenage girls that did it. There were witnesses.” I said.
My eyes stung with tears, as I sat down with Alana’s mom. She held my hand as we waited.
Alana P.O.V
I woke up, with searing pains everywhere. Where was I? What happened? A nurse rushed over to me with a glass of water, which I drank immediately.
“Where is Harry?” I asked, my voice coming out as a hoarse whisper.
“I’m sorry?” she said.
“I want my Harry.” I said.
“I’ll go check the waiting room.” The nurse replied.
“What happened to me?” I asked.
“You got jumped.” She replied before walking out.
It all came flooding back to me. My run, the screaming, the pain, the girls punching kicking and beating me.
The nurse came back with my mom.
“No offense but I said Harry.” I blurted.
“Oh honey.” My mom said rushing over to give me a hug.
“Is he here? Let him know I’m fine.” I said.
“Honey, calm down.” My mom said rubbing my hair.
“Everything hurts.” I said.
My eyes welled up with tears. I just wanted Harry. I know my mom was here and concerned, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Harry.
“Oh baby, I know.” My mom said hugging me.
“Mom, this is going to sound really rude, I don’t mean to hurt or offend you, but I really want to see Harry.” I said wiping my eyes.
“I know, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. The nurse came out and asked for Harry, but he let me see you first. He is a good boy, don’t let him go.” My mom said kissing my head, and walking out.
(Author’s note: Listen to Collide by Howie Day)
Harry walked in, and he looked a wreck.
“Harry, it’s okay.” I said.
“No it’s not.” Harry said shaking his head.
“I’m okay.” I stated.
“No Alana, you just got mobbed by my fans. The doctors said you should have died.” Harry said.
“Yeah, but I didn’t. Harry please, I’m okay.” I said.
“I can never make this up to you.” Harry said.
“And you don’t have to.” I said.
I propped myself up on the bed, and started to get out.
“No, Alana stay where you are.” Harry said.
I stood slowly, and made my way over to Harry. He grabbed my arms to support me. I looked down at my leg, which was sporting a huge cast up to my thigh.
Harry was sitting, so I lowered myself into his lap. I rested my head on his shoulder. He wrapped his arms around me.
“I’m so sorry this happened to you Alana.” Harry said.
“I know you are, but you don’t have to be.” I said.
“If I hadn’t of done that interview you wouldn’t be here right now.” He said.
“You don’t know that Harry, there still are crazy fans, and you still would have been at the studio, and I still would have gone for a run.” I said.
“Alana, I will take care of you every single day. I promise. You can come to the studio, and I’m never leaving your side.” Harry said.
“Harry, you don’t have to do that.” I said.
“I want to. Baby, I will never ever let anything bad happen to you ever again.” Harry said.
“I know you won’t now shut up and kiss me.” I said.
Harry smiled, and kissed me sweetly.
“Ow.” I said.
“Sorry.” Harry smiled.
“What happened to never hurting me again?” I joked.
“I’m sorry Lana, I didn’t mean to…I…” Harry said freaking out.
“I’m kidding babe, I’m kidding.” I said pecking his cheek.
“Don’t do that, I feel bad enough about this already.” Harry said.
“I’m sorry.” I said resting my forehead on his.
He twirled my hair.
“I want to go home.” I said.
“Not for a while babe. They want to keep you here.” Harry said.
“You’re Harry Styles, can’t you like sign an autograph and get me out?” I asked.
Harry smiled and shook his head. My eyes welled up with tears.
“No, no. Don’t cry.” Harry said.
“My whole body hurts, and I can’t make it stop. I want to be home, in bed, but I can’t. I want you to stay here with me, but in a few minutes they’ll say visiting hour is over, you have to leave, then I’ll be here alone. I just want to be better.” I said, a few tears sliding down my cheeks.
“I know, maybe I can convince them to let me stay.” Harry said.
“Don’t leave me. Promise you won’t leave me.” I said.
“Never, I will never leave you.” Harry said.
I buried myself into him, and he held me. Eventually a nurse came in.
“I’m sorry, visiting hours are over. It’s time to leave.” She said.
“No he can’t leave, please let him stay.” I said.
“I can’t do that miss.” She said.
Harry carried me to my bed, and tucked me in.
“Alana, I will be right outside your room, in the waiting room. I will be here right when you wake up okay?” Harry said.
“You promised you wouldn’t leave me Harry!” I cried.
“He has to go now. Please keep your voice down.” The nurse said.
“Harry please! Don’t make him leave. Please. I can’t do it! Please just let him stay.” I wailed.
I couldn’t be here without him. My whole body felt like it was being ripped apart, and grinded up and I needed Harry here to hold me.
I flung myself onto the cold, hard floor, which hurt more than anyone could ever imagine. Harry bent down next to me, and gently tried to pull me up.
“Alana. Alana. Alana calm down.” He said.
I kept crying, and my body was trembling.
“He can’t stay here no matter what you do Miss.” The nurse said.
“You can’t do this to me!” I cried.
“We are going to have to give you some pills if you don’t knock it off.” The nurse said sternly.
I wrapped my arms around Harry’s neck, still sitting on the floor. He wrapped his arms around my waist.
“Shhh…baby….shhh…” Harry whispered slowly rubbing my back.
I started to calm down a little, and Harry helped me back into bed.
“You promised you wouldn’t leave me. You promised.” I said hurt.
Harry didn’t say anything, he just looked down at the ground.
“There isn’t anything I can do.” He said calmly.
“I want you to stay.” I said.
“I can’t stay in here. I have to wait out in the waiting room.” He said.
“Then I’m coming.” I said.
“No, Alana, you have to stay here.” He said.
I let the tears slide down my cheeks.
“I’ll be in here first thing tomorrow. Okay?” he said.
“Okay.” I said in a small voice.
“I love you.” he said.
“I love you too.” I answered softly.
Harry walked out of the room. I continued crying.
“Get some sleep.” The nurse said.
“SHUT UP!” I screamed at her.
She started to walk out.
“I want my Harry.” I cried into my pillow.
“I need my Harry.” I said crying.
