Unexpected Fate

Chapter 12

Aria’s POV

I had gotten home about noon and texted Harry, telling him I wouldn’t be able to come tonight. There were just too many things I should have taken care of before now but what can you do? I walked to the kitchen and took out the Nutella and spread it on a piece of bread before stuffing my face with it. I turned to see Lizzie staring up at me by my feet. Crap! My morning was so busy that I had forgotten to ask Suzan if she would talk care of Lizzie while I was gone.

I picked up my phone and searched for Suzan’s number before pressing call. It ringed a few time and then she answered, “Hello?”

“Hey, it’s Aria. I know, I stormed out today without explaining but my head was in a rush, ya know?”

I heard her chuckle slightly from the other line, “Understandable. So, what’s up?”

I sighed, “Well… You know how I told you I was staying home for Christmas? Well, I’m actually going home with Harry.”

She squealed like a teenage girl, “Really?!”

I laughed lightly, “Yeah. I was just wondering, do you think you could come and check on Lizzie and feed her while I’m gone? I know its last minute notice, but it totally slipped my mind and I have nowhere else to take her. Pleaaaaase?”

“Of course I will.”

I smiled, “Thank you so much, Suz. I owe you. I’ll write a note that tells you were everything is. Do you still have the spare key I gave you from last year?”

“It’s not a problem. Yeah, I still have it. Hey, I gotta go. I’ll take care of her, don’t worry. Have a good holiday… I mean a REAL good holiday.”

I rolled my eyes, even though she couldn’t see, “Bye, Suz.”

The call ended and I headed to my room. Oh how I hate packing. It seems like I always end up forgetting SOMETHING. I dug out my suit case and began to pack. I threw in everything I needed. I packed some dressy clothes and then some not so dressy clothes, just the normal. My phone buzzed on my dresser. I picked it up to see it was Harry.

I smiled, “Hey.”

“Ello, beautiful. I was in an interview this morning so I just got your text. Is something wrong?”

I continued packing, pressing my phone to my ear with my shoulder, “Eh, not really. Just some stuff went down at work and I’ve still gotta pack, so I figured I would just let you boys have fun.”

He sighed, “You’re no fun. What went down at work, exactly?”

“I’ll explain later…” Actually, I’m not too sure I would. I continued, “I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”

“Alright… Hey,” I could hear a smirk in his voice, “just remember when you’re packing, only pack the necessities: toothbrush, pants, shirts, and shoes.”

I raised an eyebrow, “What about panties?”

He chuckled, “That’s not a necessity, love.”

I tried to hold back a laugh, “You’re nasty, Harry Edward Styles.”

I knew a smug grin was plastered all over his face, “But you love it.”

I rolled my eyes, “Whatever,” I chuckled, “I’ll talk to you later.”

“Later, love.” The call ended but I couldn’t help the smile on my face. That boy was something else. I finished backing about two hours later. Considering I was going to a different country, I thought it would be best if I double checked it… Okay, maybe triple check it.

I looked at my messy apartment. I was definitely going to have to do some cleaning before I left. I went through cleaning the whole place and by the time I was done, it was about 8 o’clock. The whole time I had been stopping to text Harry back. It takes longer when you have to stop and text someone back every minute. I ate a quick salad before I hopped into the shower to wash off my nasty feeling self. I threw on pajama pants and a tank top. My phone started to ring again and I ran to get it off my bed stand.

Without looking to see who it was, I answered, “Hello?”

My mother’s angry voice screeched through the phone, “Would you like to explain to me WHY you slapped your boss in the face before quitting?”

I should have known this was coming. Mrs. Kalder was exactly the type of woman to tell my aunt, who, of course, would tell my mother. Perfect.

“There’s nothing to explain, except for the fact she’s a heartless bitch, who doesn’t care who she crushes to get to the top.”

My mother snorted on the other line, “Yeah, well, hun. I’m sorry to break it to you, but that’s life. And I know ALL about this little pop star you’re screwing. Are you just that stupid that you can’t see he’s just using you? I mean, really, Aria. Do you actually think that a rich and famous heartthrob is just going to drop everything to be with you? Use your brain. I am so disappointed in you.”

I am so disappointed in you, are words you never want to hear your parents say. I blinked back tears, “It’s not what you think, mom. It’s different. The tabloids don’t know the full story.”

She laughed bitterly, “Oh, I know the story. Mrs. Kalder passed it along. You don’t know how hard you’re Aunt Krista worked to get you that job. You’re such an ungrateful little bitch, sometimes. You take everything for granted and give it up for a BOY. Are you that stupid?”

Anger started to roll through my body, “You really don’t know a damn thing.”

“I don’t know a damn thing?” she hissed through the phone, “I know that this won’t last. I know that you’re going to be crawling back to me and your father because that boy broke your heart and you have no job. And when that day comes, I will do nothing but say I told you so.” The line went dead and I sunk to the floor in defeat.

I didn’t know why everyone doubted me. Why nobody thought I was capable of making it on my own. From the day I left for New York, my parents never believed I would stay… They never believed I could make something of myself. They are just waiting for me to crawl back home. There was only one thing I could do. Only one thing I knew I HAD to do. I had to prove them wrong.

I wiped the tears from my face. I was leaving tomorrow and I could just forget about this for a couple weeks. I know you can’t run from you’re problems, but we all try anyway, don’t we?

I turned my alarm on and curled into bed. Lizzie jumped up and snuggled next to me and the last thing I remember was getting a good night text from Harry.

Notes

Okay Directioners, fair warning: As you know this is rated with visual sexual content. Soo, in a upcoming chapter, be prepared. If you don't want to see it, then don't read it, that's why it has a warning on it.

Anyway, would you like to see something go "down" between Aria and Harry?

And what do you think about her mom? Bitch, right?

Thanks for reading!
