Unexpected Fate
Chapter 11
HARRY’S POV
I walked into the living room of the hotel to see the boys waiting on me. Liam was texting, while Niall, Zayn, and Louis were engrossed in their own conversation. I cleared my throat slightly and they all turned to face me, “Aria isn’t coming to dinner, so it’s just us tonight.”
Niall looked slightly confused, his Irish accent filling the room, “I thought you said she was coming?”
I shrugged my shoulders, “She texted me that she has some things she’s got to take care of before we leave.”
Louis came over and threw his arm around my shoulder and smiled at me, “That’s alright, mate. We need to celebrate our last night in America.”
I nodded in agreement and Liam headed towards the door, “Ready, lads?”
We all nodded and made our way to the elevator. We decided to stick to the back exit to avoid being mobbed by all of our “dedicated” fans… And when I say dedicated, I mean completely mental, but we love them. That’s how we have gotten so far in our career today. Paul, our tour manager, was waiting outside the building, in a black van. We all piled in the van and Paul began to drive. When we got on the main street, girls were standing outside the hotel with signs. There were sweet ones like: Niall, I’m not Irish but you can still kiss me; Harry you got style, and we love Paul. Even though Paul wasn’t a part of the band, the fans still loved him and he’s a part of the 1D family. And then there were some… quite inappropriate ones: Point your erection in my direction; Harry, we want your gravy. The scary part about those signs, they were being held by girls as young as 13.
When we arrived at the restaurant, we were lucky to see that there were no paps. We all exited the van and made our way in, trying to stay undercover with glasses and hats, except for me, I stayed with my classic gray beanie. The restaurant wasn’t crowded, so we were seated within a few minutes. We requested a booth in the back, where it was dimly lit. Our waiter was a man, probably in his mid twenties, which had no clue who we were. He took our drink orders and left. “So, Niall, are you gonna be in London at all this break, or are you staying in Ireland for holiday,” Zayn asked.
“I was planning on flying back to London first to check on everything at t flat. I was gonna stay there for a few days, then head home to Ireland to see t family. Sorry, Lou. I wish I could be there for your birthday.”
Louis smiled at him, “It’s alright, mate. I understand. We’ll just have to have a pint before you leave?”
Niall nodded his head. Liam pipped in, “What ARE the plans for your birthday?”
Louis’ lips formed a devious smirk, “We’re going clubbing, boys.”
We all cried out in excitement, “Gonna do it big, mate. Is El and Dani going to be able to come,” I asked curiously.
Louis and Liam smiled at the sound of their girlfriends names, “I know Danielle will,” Liam said. That boy was on cloud nine whenever Danielle was around. They were getting pretty serious, actually. They had been dating for about two years now and had finally decided to move in together. We were all truly happy for Liam. They both deserved each other.
“Of course El will, idiot,” Louis said, looking at me like I was mental.
I acted hurt, “That’s not nice, Lou. You know how I feel about you and El and then you have to go and call me names. I know you love her more then me but you don’t have to rub it in.” Niall started laughing, becoming red in the face. That boy laughed more than anyone.
Louis’ face softened and he put his arm around my shoulders again, “Awe, I’m sorry Hazza. You know you mean the world to me.”
I laughed, “Thanks, boo bear.” The relationship between me and Louis was odd, yes. But he was my best mate. We had gotten along since the beginning. We told each other everything. I was the one who introduced Eleanor to Louis. Some people actually think me and him are together, which is the funny part. They ship us as “Larry Stylinson”, and we play along with it to entertain the fans, but since El and Lou have gotten more serious, we have toned it down a lot, well, publicly, anyway.
The waiter returned with our drinks and we all ordered our food. Once the waiter left, we were back into our conversation. I had been texting Aria for some time but was still engaged in the conversation. I looked up from my phone to see Liam looking at me from across the table with a smile on his face, “So, when are you and Aria gonna go public?”
All the boys turned, anticipating my answer, “Um… I, er, I don’t really know. We just became an item yesterday,” I chuckled nervously.
“True. But you do know, Haz, you’re not going to be able to hide it forever. The paps already know there is something going on with you two, and now they are watching you like a hawk. The whole world is just waiting for Harry Styles to get a girlfriend so all Hell can break loose,” Louis stated seriously. Louis serious? Not something you see often.
When Louis said “so all Hell can break loose”, he wasn’t joking. Every time I was linked to a girl, the whole world flips out. Some of the “fans” will send death threats to the girl, saying some of the ugliest things. If I am seen just walking down the street with a girl, it’s all over the internet the next day, saying that I have a new girlfriend. And then there are girls who say that I pick them up at clubs and we have a one night stand. Yeah, there might be one or two times I have done that, but not as many times as it’s been claimed. Some girls just say it for the popularity, which is repulsive. Over the past few months, I have been linked with numerous girls: Taylor Swift, Emma Ostilly, and Emily Atack (who I never even met). My last relationship was with Caroline Flack, the 32 year old X-Factor host, which only lasted a few months and ended in January... Almost a year ago. Not many people were happy about that either…
I leaned my head forward, shaking my curls with my hand, and swiping it to the side, “Yeah I know. The fans deserve to know but she needs to be prepared before anything is said… I don’t need the fans and paps to ruin anything before it gets started… That’s why I was kinda hoping that El and Dani could give her some advice when we go back,” I turned to look at Liam and Louis.
Liam looked at me and nodded, “That’s probably not such a bad idea. I’m sure the girls wouldn’t mind.”
Louis nodded his head in agreement. I turned to Zayn, “No offence, Zayn. I just figured Perrie would be busy with all of the band stuff and since you guys haven’t been together long, I figured even she was still adjusting.”
He shrugged his shoulders, “It’s ight, mate. It’s hard for me to even see her with her schedule.”
I nodded my head and checked my phone, texting Aria back. Louis patted me on the shoulder, “You must really like her if you’re taking her home to your mum.”
A smile began to creep across my face as all the boys just stared at me, “I really do. I never really thought something like this would come of it. She’s just… Amazing, beautiful, independent, and strong. She’s different from all the others.”
Niall raised an eyebrow, “Even Caroline?”
Caroline was kind of a touchy subject. The age difference tore us apart. I looked down at my phone, “The only thing that made Caroline different was she was an older woman, with more experience. I knew nothing serious would come from it. She was 32, for shit sake.”
Louis laughed and elbowed me in the side, “Come on, Hazza. We know it was mostly for the sex.”
I shrugged one shoulder, a smile creeping across my face, “Maybe. Gotta live a little.”
The boys erupted into laughter, Niall yelling “busted” which caused Louis to laugh harder. Liam became serious first, “Just don’t hurt her, mate. If she is different, don’t screw it up. You’re kind of good at that, no offence.”
I nodded my head. He was right. I wasn’t the best at having serious relationships. I think it was partly due to the fact that I just didn’t have the right girl. I had meant what I said to the boys and what I had said to Aria a few nights ago; she was different. She didn’t like me because I was in the hottest boy band or because I was famous. She wanted me for me. She had opened up to me last night. She opened up to me about something she has never told anyone, ever. That meant more to me than anything she could ever say to me. It just showed me that she trusts me, and I wouldn’t let her down. I couldn’t. This girl was extraordinary. Nothing I had ever experienced before. Every touch we share sends an electric shot though my body. There’s nothing in the world I wanted more than her. If I could keep her all to myself forever, I would, but I knew that I was going to have to tell the world about her soon, and I wasn’t prepared. I wanted to protect her, but the fans have to know.
The world will know soon enough, I told myself, and I will stick by her every step of the way.
