Business Proposal
The "Contract"
Mel POV
Harry choice of words started me when he said “signed a legally binding contract,” not only did my sister lied to me but forgot to tell me about the “contract.”Mel was the lawyer in the family and was the one who understand legal deals and what binding contract meant. “Contract?” she managed to ask. And if Lilli had signed something without having me to look at it again, then this could be very very bad. Harry smiled. If she didn’t know any better, she’d swear that his smile was the smile of a predatory. A very sexy, handsome and a cold-blooded reptile.
“She didn’t mention that to you?” harry asked almost innocently.
“NO, and if she did, I believe that i would have remembered that.” She stated firmly. Harry nodded agreeably. “You would love this next part Melrose because the contract states that if she breaks her end of the deal, she must find me a replacement within 24 hours without breaking the confidentiality agreement with in the contract. And if the contract is considered broken I can sue her.”
Mel blinked at the word “replacement within 24 hours.”
“Yes,” harry said. “The wedding is in three days. I don’t care who, and also as she meets the qualifications in the contract. Meaning educated enough to carry conversation. Attractive between 22 and 24 years and socially well adjusted. No drugs and willing to sign the contract and all financial support once the marriage dissolves.” Mel left out a laugh. You have got to be kidding right.” Harry facial expression looked hurt as he watched her closely “You’ll find that i do not joke.” Mel occupied herself by fidgeting with her purse straps. She needed to end this conversation and get out of the house.
“Well, Mr Styles, it was nice to meet you and i should leave now. Look your wealthy, good looking and lives in a nice house i am sure that you would have no problem trying to replace Lilli.”
Mel nearly screamed in frustration, “I don’t know where Lilli is. So don’t you think that it might be hard for me to contact her and asked her to find you a replacement before your wedding?”
“Then you would accept the contract in order to save your finances tied in with your sister,” harry said as he saw Mel’s reaction, but he just shrugged. “Then it is now your business, because by the time I’m through with your sister, all of her assets with you would be mine and just so you know i am pressing charge against your sister, since she runway with a large amount of money.” All of Mel’s lawyers rebuttal skills stripped down from her as she was left with nothing but to stared at harry, as his words crash her down like tons of bricks.
“I am being serious,” harry replies as his eyes bored into her with the same predatory look she’d seen before. Mel said in a response. “I can’t find you a wife in two days!” Mel caught harry staring at her ring-less finger before he asked. “Unless you’re prepared to stand in for Lilli? I am also guessing that you are single.”
“I am not marrying you,” said Mel as she shivered.Harry stood up then toward her, leaning in to her personal space. “That’s fine and you would be hearing from my lawyer, and I’ll be contacting the authorities.” Mel remained seated. “I want to see the contract,” she demanded, looking straight at him.
“Don’t worry, leave me your fax number or an e-mail address and i would send it to you. Plus you need a lawyer to help you with the complicated language used in the contract.” Mel rolled her eyes at him and said. “I need to look at it now.” Standing up from the couch and refusing to let him intimidate her.
“But ..... I just said that you need a Lawyer to assist you.”
Mel rolled her eyes. “But i don’t need a lawyer and the reason for that is, I am a lawyer,” she informed him
