Chased Across the World
Let's Go
Harry's POV:
I was speeding. I know I am. Do I care? No. All that matters is getting to Jasmyne and getting her to come with us. She'll agree. She has to. It wouldn't make sense if she didn't. Our plan is perfect, a great way to get her out and keep her safe. She will agree. She will.
"Dude. Do you even know where you're going?" One of the boys asked me from the back seat of my range rover.
"yeah." I replied quickly, my tone a bit harsh. What can I say? I'm not in the mood for distractions right now. I slammed on the brakes in front of Jasmyne's house. Woah. I'd forgotten that her parents were loaded.
"Everyone out." I barked. The boys instantly complied, piling out onto the sidewalk beside me. A shout drew my gaze left. There were two figures moving swiftly down the sidewalk, talking loudly. One of the girls had her head low, feet moving fast. The other had her head thrown high, arms gesturing in wide movements. Both girls had bags and were going probably as fast as they could. Where are they going? Why are they going? I examined them closer. Come to think of it...they look slightly familiar. I squinted at them.
"Is that-?" Louis questioned, pointing in the direction I was looking. I shushed him, straining my ears to hear the girls conversation. They were almost to the end of the block, but the one girl was so loud I could still hear her.
"Jazzy! You're being ridiculous!" Oh my god.
It's her.
Jasmyne.

Jasmyne's POV:
5 minutes earlier...
"I still don't get it." Callie stated, her head shaking in confusion as she packed a bag full of things she might need. It's not like it mattered what she grabbed. Whatever we forgot we could just replace. I huffed.
"I'll explain after we get out of here." I said quickly, zipping up my pack. It wasn't nearly full. All I grabbed were absolute essentials. A month or two in captivity teaches you what you need to survive.
"Alright, Jaz." She sighed, putting her bag aross her back as she faced me. I studied my best friend. I can't believe I'm dragging her into this. It has nothing to do with her. She shouldn't have to be dragged into my problems. Maybe I can get her to go home and just-
"Don't even think about it." She snapped. I opened my mouth to protest, but she just shot me a look and I shut up. There was no use in agruing with her when she was like this.
"Okay. You ready?" I asked, trying to keep the emotions out of my voice. She nodded, watching me carefully. "Let's go then." Quickly, I opened my door, moving to the main floor without the stairs creaking. Today was a good stair day. Funny how the little things make you smile when you're leaving it all behind. I could hear my parents down the hall, talking about some business thing. It's like I never left. Business is all they can focus on, in the past and in the present.
I stopped in the hallway, staring down the hall toward the room my parents occupied. This was goodbye, and I don't even get to say that to their faces. Who knows how long I'll be gone this time. I just wish I had a bit more time with them, if only to say I love you and goodbye. I didn't get to last time. The least anyone could do is let me this time. But I know in my heart I can't. I can't say goodbye. I can't say I love you. I would never leave otherwise. So instead, I settled for an air kiss their way and the silent mouthing of goodbye. My only wish is that they will understand.
With tears in my eyes and Callie's hand on my back, I exited my house, walking down the driveway to face the enormous home. It was truely home. It held first place in the contest of best childhood memories. Everything in my life has happened in or near that house. It's too soon to be saying farewell. But I did it. Tears streamed down from my eyes, past my nose, down my cheeks, and off my chin; hitting the ground below in quiet thuds. But I got my goodbye. At least with the house, I got my final words. I turned toward Callie.
"He was going to kill everyone." I said before we had even moved an inch. Her jaw dropped and her eyes widened in shock.
"Who was?"
"The guy. The kidnapper. He was gonna kill them all if I didn't go with him." I cried, sniffling as I tried to keep my composure. Callie pulled me into a huge hug.
"How'd he find you?"
"He never lost me." I whimpered. It was true. Even though I thought I was free, I really wasn't. I was never out of his grasp, more like dancing along the edge of my cage, never able to truely leave. And he just reminded me of that. "He was gonna come for me. I couldn't do it. I couldn't. I had to leave. I just didn't want him to kill you if I left." I felt hot tears hit my face, ones that weren't mine. I pulled back to see Callie crying along with me. Silently, our feet began moving us down the block.
"I'd never let you leave without me." I nodded to her words, watching as houses I've known since birth blurred past me. "But why don't we just tell the police? They were gonna be here soon anyway." I heard a car slam on its brakes, but I was too afraid to look back. Callie did though, but she seemed unfazed by it. The only thing we both did was walk even faster. I put my head down and just kept moving. That's all I had to do. Keep moving.
"No. Something bad would have happened. I just know it."
"But they're the police!"
"No." I stated flatly. Last time we got the police involved, and they weren't even the ones to find me. Great law enforcement right?
"Jazzy! You're being ridiculous!" She shouted, arms flailing about her body. I shot a glance toward her, disapproving of her sudden outburst. That's when I heard footsteps. A lot of footsteps. I stole a peek behind me, gasping at the sight. One boy was sprinting towards Callie and I, another four just standing there staring. I watched the boy grow closer, recognizing the curly mop on his head. Harry.
No. He shouldn't be here. He can't be here.
Callie and I began to run, my friend sensing that something was not right. We ran around the corner, speeding down the sidewalk in hopes of leaving Harry behind. We made it to the edge of the block, turning back to wait and see while our breath came in harsh pants. We watched intently, waiting for Harry to turn the corner.
That didn't happen.
Instead a car roared around the corner, racing toward us at a speed they surely would have gotten a ticket for.
"Callie?"
"Uh-huh?"
"Run."
