Chased Across the World
New Helpers
Callie's POV:
The floorboards creaked as I slowly crept up the porch steps toward the door. I swore under my breath, pausing to make sure no one was coming. The coast was clear. Releasing my held breath, I continued on until I reached the door. I grasped the cold knob and turned it, praying that it wouldn't squeak. It didn't. I love this door.
The inside of the house was just like the outside. Ramshackle. Abandoned. Okay, Callie. No kidnapper is going to put their victim on the main floor. No smart one anyway. And whoever this is must be smart. So that leaves...maybe an attic? A cellar? A basement? A garage? Just check the house first Callie.
I moved forward, letting my feet glide over the dusty floors. In front of me was a flight of stairs going upwards, next to it being a closed door. It can't be... I opened the door, expecting a closet full of jackets, but I was wrong. It was stairs leading down toward a basement. I'm a lucky girl today. I descended them, using my phone as a flashlight, so that I didn't trip and fall down the stairs. That'd would suck.
When I reached the bottom, I noticed a few light switches. Might as well. It doesn't seem like anyones here. I flicked the switches and instantly, the lights overhead buzzed on. Brightness flooded the hallway, revealing a structure opposite to that upstairs. It was white, pure white and nothing was cracked or broken. To be honest, everything looked new. Really new. I froze as I heard voices from down the hall.
"Man, I don't know what to think anymore." Some guy said.
"Ya gotta help me though Lou. I gotta do something. I can't take it anymore." Another guy said.
"Well, what do you want from me?" The one called Louis asked. "What happens if they come after us for helping her?" Are they talking about who I think they're talking about?
"Lou, come on. They'll never know."
"I don't know Harry. What the hell?" I was so focused on their conversation, I didn't notice them turn the corner. I stared, probably like a deer in the headlights, at the two boys down the hallway fro me. I recognized them from the club. One was the curly haired boy who had been next to Jasmyne, the other one just someone who was with them.
"Who the hell are you?" The curly-haired boy exclaimed. I turned to run away as 3 more boys came around the corner behind me.
"I thought I heard someone come downstairs." The dark mysterious one from the club said. I scanned the three of them, focusing on the blonde one. He was the hot one that I had pretended not to like. They're all involved?! I stumbled back a few steps until I ran into the other two boys. Pivoting to face all five at the same time, I began to speak.
"What do you want?" I asked unafraid.
"Your name." One of them said.
"Not gonna happen." They all took a step closer. As much as I like to believe I'm a tough cookie, five on one aren't good chances. "How about a trade?" They all stopped. "My name for all of yours. Seem fair?" They all nodded and went down the line. Harry. Louis. Liam. Zayn. Niall. Wait a minute...I know those names.
"I go to school with all of you! You're those guys who always miss!!" They all looked at me with surprise. Didn't see that coming, did ya? "YOU KIDNAPPED MY BEST FRIEND!?!?"

A hand clamped over my mouth. "Shhhh!" A voice hissed in my ear. "Do you wanna get caught?" I squirmed out of their grasp, turning to face them angrily. They were right, but I was still pissed.
"Well? Did you?"
"No. I mean yes. I mean no. Well..." Harry tried to explain, his mop of curls shaking as he hung his head. I glared at all of them, including Niall. You're hot, but some things are more important.
"Look, what Harry means is we wanna help her to leave." I narrowed my eyes at Liam.
"What are you saying?" Suspicion crept into my voice as I studied them warily.
"Anything you need. We'll help." Louis answered, taking a sideways glance at the boy next to him.
"Are you serious?" I questioned. This can't be happening. Am I dreaming? I pinched my arm slyly. Nope, still awake.
"Okay.." I started. "Make sure no one gets down here for a while." I crossed my arms over my chest, enjoyment filling my head as their jaws dropped.
"That's it? No questions asked?" Zayn inquired. Smirking at him, I rolled my eyes.
"None." They all shared a look. "All I need you for is strength, brute strength. Everything else I'll handle. None of you are going to mess that up...right?" I growled at them, watching as they all nodded. Good. "Now go." They all began to walk past me except Harry. As they disappeared up the stairs, I walked over to him.
"Can I ever be forgiven?" Harry asked, looking up at me with tear-filled eyes. Why is he crying?
"For what?" I asked, actually interested in his answer. Did this have to do with Jasmyne? He just shook his head at me. I began to move past him when he stayed silent, but his hand wrapped around my wrist.
"Can I come with?"
"To see Jasmyne?" I asked, already knowing the answer before he nodded. "Why?"
He hesitated only a bit before responding. "I need to tell her something." I was disappointed with the vague answer, but for some reason, I believe he's telling the truth. I still don't trust him though.
"Fine, lead me to her." He nodded, taking me down the hall to the second to last door on the left. We stopped and Harry turned to me.
"I don't have my keys with me. Hope you can pick a lock." With a scowl, I shoved him to the side, digging my pocket knife out of my pocket. I've always carried one with me, no matter where I was going. Old habits die hard I guess. With one final twist, the lock popped and I pushed the door open, letting my eyes drift to the familiar shape.
"Jazzy?"
