Chased Across the World
Double Sided
Jasmyne's POV:
I stared at the ceiling. I was finally alone. We had gotten back from the club a while ago. I guess I passed out or something. I don't know. I only remember being at the club and next thing I knew, I woke up in my room on the bed. I haven't moved since.
It's not that I can't. I just don't want to. I have no urge to. What's the point anyway? I'm never going to escape. I don't know if Callie followed, but wouldn't she have saved me by now if she had. I mean she wouldn't waste any more time than has already been wasted...right? A sigh escaped my lips. I guess I'll just have to wait and see won't I?
The ceiling is actually pretty interesting when you look at it long enough. There's tiny little details that you never notice until you really take the time to look. Actually, that happens to me with people too.Like Harry. I would have never guessed that it had been him. I mean he's played a part in all this, yet he has a soft side like that? How does that add up? I'll tell you. It doesn't. Which side of him is the real Harry? Will I ever find out? I just want to-
"Jasmyne?" A voice called out through the door. Who is it? I closed my eyes instantly, hoping I appeared to be sleeping. It's not like I know who is on the other side of the door. It could be anyone. It could be Mr. Carter. The door swung open, the soft creak filling the silent room. Soft footsteps came closer to my still body. I forced my breathing to be slow and relaxed, but I was far from that. My nerves were on high alert, my brain powering at full-speed. Honestly, how can I be relaxed in my situation. Someone please tell me.
The bed sank down as more weight was added to the mattress. "Jasmyne?" A hand shook my shoulder lightly. I wanted to open my eyes and look upon the person. But instead, I forced my eyes to stay shut, my body to stay still. The hand shook me harder this time. "Hey. Jasmyne. Wake up." I wouldn't move. I wouldn't. Whoever was next to me suddenly evenly distributed their weight along the side of the bed. There were a few moments of absolute silence. Of absolute peace. Then a finger poked my cheek.
My eyes flew open against my will as I whipped my head to the side, staring into someones deep green ones. I gasped, the sound filling my ears. Then I flailed, my body rolling away until it thumped to the ground. And ache began in my lower back, but that didn't matter right now.
"Jasmyne?" Harry called, leaning over the edge that I had tumbled over. I stared up at the curly headed boy.
"What were you doing?"
"What do you mean?" I stared at him. Really Harry? "Oh that. Well, you wouldn't wake up."
"So you decided to lay in my personal area?"
"I'm sorry?" He asked. I sighed in exasperation. Why was I even wasting my time? I stood up, getting back on the bed, while shoving Harry off it. He hit the ground, bouncing right back up. He scowled at me.
"That wasn't nice." He complained.
"Oh, and what you were doing was nice?" I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest. His eyes hardened, before going soft and light. Weird.
"Look, we-"
"Need to talk." I said, finishing his sentence. We stared at each other for the longest time, before he finally spoke up.
"So I'm assuming you heard everything I said?"
"Which time?" I inquired, glancing down at my hands.
"Both." I nodded. "And?"
"And what?"
"Well, what are you thinking?" He asked, coming closer to the edge of the bed.
"I don't know."
"Well, are you happy it was me?"
"I don't know."
"Would you rather it be someone else?"
"I don't know!" I almost shouted, turning to glare at him. "I don't know okay? This whole thing is so fucking confusing! And you and all this shi- stuff doesn't make it any easier!" I drew my knees up to my face, trying to avoid breaking down into tears.
"Hey." Harry whispered, coming to sit next to me. His arm wrapped around my shoulders as I buried my head in his shoulder. "Don't cry. I didn't mean to- god, please don't cry." I sniffled, holding back the tears as I adjusted to this new position. With my face hidden from him, I allowed my emotions to play out on my features. I didn't hold back or hide. I let loose. I scowled. I glared. I smiled. I almost laughed. Everything I'd been burying inside me for the longest time suddenly came out. Then I remembered his arm on my shoulders. He still hadn't moved it. It lay there, not awkwardly, but comforting for me.
"Harry." I muttered. He looked down at me. "Why did you say all those things when you thought I couldn't hear. I'm mean we barely know each other. I've only just met you and it's not on the best terms either." He sighed deeply.
"I think it's time for you to know everything. At least about me and the boys."
