Chased Across the World
Not So Secret Secrets
Callie's POV:
I must be hearing things. This isn't possible. At. All. My head swung the my left, staring down the length of the bar. And then I saw her. Jasmyne. My best friend.
There were so many things I wanted to say. So many things I wanted to do. What should I do first? Do I run to her? Hug her? Call her name? Smile and wave like an idiot? She still hadn't seen me. But I definitely saw her. My gaze was drawn to the boy on her left, who was staring at her with concern. Who was he? How did he know her? Is he the one who did it? The infamous kidnapper? Why, he's our age. Just a kid, barely an adult! Anger built up inside me. How could he do such a thing to Jasmyne. Kidnap her and bring her here. He must have known someone would see her.
Then I saw all the guys looking at her with concern. Even Blondie. Are they all in on it??? The only one who looked like he didn't want anything to do with her was the mysterious one, but even he was watching her out of the corner of his eye. What do I do?
I can't do anything now. They are all here, watching her. I bet they brought her here to make sure no one would give them problems in the future. Bring her here, find her friends, and take them out. I can't give myself away. But I couldn't just walk away. I watched her, watched her hands tremble, watched the darting of her eyes, the quiver of her lip. Watched her eyes shifted to the right. Watched her eyes fall on me. The fear in her eyes, the desperation, forced me to decide on my actions.
No matter what happens, I will get her back.

Jasmyne's POV:
It's her. It's really her. I wanted to jump up and down with joy. I wanted to smile and scream and run to her. But my butt remained glued to the seat. Her eyes and mine locked, feelings flowing through a nonexistent link. Hers were thoughts of relief, happiness, and a bit of anxiety. Mine were the exact same. I knew I couldn't do anything to give her away. She was my only hope. The only one I could depend on.
"Jasmyne?" Harry asked again. My head snapped toward him, my mouth slightly open. Think Jasmyne think. Say something!
"I-I'm sorry. I've never drank anything before and I-" They all stared at me. "I'm sorry." I replied meekly, staring at my hands. I wanted Callie's help so bad, but that wouldn't end well. For either of us.
"Jasmyne." Harry whispered. "We'll do this together." Together. Just like the other boy had said. It was Harry. It had to be.
"It was you." I breathed, staring at him confused.
"What was?" His face remained blank, but his eyes gave him away. They were half hopeful, half scared. He knew what I was talking about. And now he knew I knew.
"You know what I'm talking about." I muttered, being careful to make sure only he heard. His eyes flashed.
"Jasmyne, I-"
"Time to go boys." Mr. Carter said suddenly, yanking me out of the stool. He seemed unconcerned with the strange glances that people were sending us. "Let's go." He growled, pulling me to my feet. My eyes sought Callie. She was staring at our teacher, not able to get past the surprise. I want to shout out her name, but I didn't have to. She found me on her own. Her eyes held endless questions, ones I didn't have time to answer. I only had time to mouth four words.
Follow. Boys will help.
My wrist was then grasped and pulled on, sending me tumbling into my teacher. I looked at Callie one last time, seeing her nod. My breathing slowed, my heart at a normal pace. Callie would help.I know she would. A blindfold was wrapped back around my head. I could hear the boys arguing with Mr. Carter, but their words were too quick to decipher. I was dragged through the dance floor, bodies knocking into mine as we plowed through the crowd. I hope Callie can follow through in this. I need her. We stopped. I looked around, trying to figure out what was happening even without being able to see.
"NO!" I heard Harry shout. What?
A sharp stinging began in my neck, my body beginning to tingle and go numb. The world began to go as black as my blindfold. I was falling into a deep state of unconsciousness. My last two thoughts weren't thoughts at all. Rather they were names.
Callie. Harry.

Callie's POV:
Follow? The boys will help?? Does she mean the boys who were with her? They did seem to care for her more than they should, but would they actually help. I guess I'll have to trust her on this one. I watched as she was dragged through he club and out the door. I just watched. My body itched to do something. To help her now. But I couldn't. Instead, I pushed myself after her at a safe distance, following them out the door. Finally I exited the club.
The brisk September, almost October air hit me like a ton of bricks. I shivered, my breath appearing in puffs before my face. I looked down both sides of the street. There they are. I saw them on foot, lugging Jasmyne over the shoulder of our social studies teacher, as they walked down the street. At least, I can follow easily.
What kills me is that Mr. Carter is in on it. I would have never suspected him. I mean sure he's been off lately and today whenI talked to him, he seemed really weird, but this? I still can't believe it. As I set off after them, I whipped out my phone, finger hovering over Ethan's name.
I did make a promise.
But I hate him. And he's keeping secrets.
But it's the right thing to do.
But I don't want to.
Yes you do.
Ugh. Fine.
Wow. I just had a whole conversation with myself.
Okay. Time to stop.
My finger pressed the message button and I sent Ethan a quick text.
Me: Found Jas. Following now. I'll text u where we end up.
