I made it to Santa’s nice list this year! It’s about time! I’ve waited for nineteen years! I thought that old imaginary bloke had put me permanent on the naughty ones. IT’S A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE I TELL YAH!!! Hahaha!!! Can’t wait to see you and Liam again and tell you what’s Santa brought me this year. You’ll cry for sure! Merry Christmas, Campyyyy!!! <3

Liam told me your Mum makes the best gingerbread man cookies for your family’s feast. I expect a tin foil full of them when we see each other on New Year’s Eve, alright? Merry Christmas, Camp! :)))

Someone put mistletoe in my bedroom door. Don’t tell Liam, but I thought of you. ;) Happy Christmas, Campbelle. :)

It’s snowing here in Bradford! I would love to do a snow angel but nobody wants to lie on the cold snow and do it with me. :( Is it snowing there? I need my art buddy. We need to do a snow angel together soon! It’d be sick, I can imagine it. :) How’s your Christmas Eve feast with your Mum and Liam? Is it okay if I call you later when you’re not busy? :)
It’s amazing how this Christmas is different from the past ones. For one, I’ve got new friends that greeted me. Some people actually cared about me this holiday, not just Mum, Liam and the rest of the Payne’s, and that’s quite a change. Aside from wanting to slapping Harry and his undying cheekiness, the ridiculous blush on my face because Zayn thought of me of all people he could to do a snow angel with (read: in a totally platonic slash just best friends way only, I assume) and the fact that he wanted to talk with me later tonight, everything’s pretty normal. But to be honest, I say this Christmas is more awesome than the rest of all.
We were doing the Christmas Eve feast in the Payne’s household and everyone’s in their cheery moods tonight. Mum and Karen did the all the cooking. Geoff brought home a bottle of expensive champagne to drink while Liam and I have sparkling white grape juice to share (read: because they didn’t want the whisky thing last year to happen again). Liam and I helped with setting the table for our families, added by both of us belting Christmas songs that echoed all throughout the whole house –the whole street even- until Mum nicely told us to shut it because our voices sound horrible together. I can’t argue with that. Simon Cowell made a good choice of not signing me with the boys. I’ll probably end their career.
I kept the smile in my face as I re-read the boys’ holiday greetings. I sat by myself in the loveseat on the front porch. I could hear singing; there are probably some carolers somewhere down in our street. The chilly wind of the night wrapped on me like a blanket but was it was rather comfortable to me because it’s Christmas wind.
It is Christmas time and I’m definitely merrier.
It is that time of the year that I definitely won’t forget.

Would you mind if I sit there with you? You look like you need company. :)
I turned my head and caught Liam’s smiling face looking from the window pane. He sat across from where I was while he was on the living room.
Giggling, I quickly replied,

Only if you get both of us a glass full of that wonderful and tempting Champagne, love. ;) They won’t let me anywhere near it. >:|
Again, it’s because of that whisky accident.
A few minutes later, Liam came out of the house with the whole bottle of Champagne and two glasses with him. I gave him two thumbs up for being sneaky and getting away with it.
“Why would you only wish to have a glass when I can bring us the whole bottle?” he cracked as he sat next to me.
I crossed my arms on my chest and pouted back at Liam. “That is totally unfair. They won’t even let me near the bottle.” I told him straight.
He poured us half full glasses of the delicious champagne, handed me the other one and made a toast. “But do you want to know why they don’t want you?”
I raised an eyebrow and said, “Tell me why, Liam James Payne.”
“Well, they want you totally sober when they make us stand on the mistletoe.” He said straight.
“Not again! Who brought mistletoe this year?”
“I believe our mums did, again.” Liam snickered.

I didn’t forget to greet you on my text message, but I’m worried you might think I did. I wanted to greet you by the phone when I call you, but it seems you are busy. It’s okay though. We can talk sometime. :) Happy Christmas, Campbelle. xo

But if you’re still up with talking later when you’re not busy anymore like when you’re about to sleep, maybe I can still call you then? I’ve got Christmas stories to share. :))
If Mum’s gingerbread cookies don’t give me diabetes, then Zayn would.
Liam scooted closer to my side and tried looking at my phone. “Wait, are you texting Zayn?” he asked.

Is it still valid if I bring the mistletoe on the New Year’s Eve party?
I can’t even with Harry.

But that doesn’t count as the New Year’s kiss, alright? ;)
“And Harry? The lads haven’t even greeted me ‘Merry Christmas’ yet!”
“Oh, they so want you out of the band and have me instead!”

I get two Campbelle kisses! Yay! <3
The boy’s ridiculous. I just don’t give Campbelle kisses to anyone. See the dilemma with the mistletoe thing with Liam?

What’s this deal about Harry getting Campbelle kisses?! TELL ME SOMETHING I DON’T KNOW.

DO NOT GIVE HAROLD A KISS OR WE’RE DONE, BROOKS!

Seriously Camp, if you don’t give me those cookies, I’m disinviting you to the party.
Technically, Niall can’t disinvite me because it’s not his party. It is Uncle Simon’s New Year’s Eve party.

Harry just sent me a message about this so called Campbelle kisses. Well then, if you can’t bring me cookies, maybe I’ll get one of those? Yah can’t blame me for being curious, babe. ;)
I finally showed Liam all the messages I received. Chortling, I told him, “Your friends are a bunch of bonkers!”
“Well you’re one of us. That makes you bonkers as well.”
I gave Liam a good punch on his arms, in which he returned a quick kiss on my cheeks.
What’s with boys and getting kisses every Christmas, eh?
“Hey, can I give you my Christmas gift now?”
“But we open gifts all together…”
“This one’s kind of special.” Liam said.
But then I noticed that Liam’s got no box or any sort with him.
“You know the lyrics to your favorite Christmas song, right?”
“Seriously, you’re not going to mock me now with my obsession with the Britney Spears’ Christmas song.”
“And to be quite honest, you were a little naughty this year so the song doesn’t actually fit you.”
Even before I could smack him in the head, Liam started singing.
“I hope my letter reaches you in time
Bring me love I can call all mine
Cause I have been so good, so good this year
Can’t be alone under the mistletoe
He’s all I want in a big red bow.”
Then out of nowhere, Liam got a really big red bow and put it on top of his head.
It left me speechless.
Wow.
“Happy Christmas, Campbelle.”
And even before I knew it, Liam’s face was leaning forward to mine, with a wide smile etched in his beautiful pinkish lips.
Closer…and closer…
Until,
“PICTURE TIME!!!”
I must say I was proud that I fought the heavy urge to close the gap and kiss him too.
Of course, the family found the perfect time to barge in and ruin the almost moment with my best friend.
“You two are not getting away this time.” Ruth announced.
And I thought she was speaking of the bottle of wine we took without permission. “Liam took the wine, not me!” I said in defense.
“You might want to look above you.”
Liam and I did what my Mum said and, no frigging way.
There was mistletoe hanging right above us.
They really outdid it this year.
“Kiss or else, you’ll get bad luck for the rest of the year.”
Liam hasn’t said anything, at all. He just looked back at me with his pearly white teeth showing as he smiled brightly at me.
And then it hit me.
Surprise, surprise!
He knew about it. Of course Liam would know about it. He knew about the mistletoe right above us. He knew our parents would have put it there and I love seating at the loveseat on the front porch alone. They knew it. He’s plotted the whole scenario with them.
But then again, one kiss wouldn’t change anything. I bet our family just wants a good laugh at how awkward we’ll be after it because they don’t know Liam and I have done things further than innocent kisses. Just to think about it, a mistletoe kiss wouldn’t change their view of Liam and my so platonic friendship -with a few benefits. You know what I mean.
And I don’t want to get bad luck all throughout this year, especially when there’s this teeny tiny bit of a chance I might get more than just friendship with, like, I don’t know… Zayn?
Ha.
I really don’t want to have bad luck.
I looked back at Liam and told him to, “Smile for the camera,” before I held on his cheek and gave him a sweet peck on his lips.
Sweet Jesus, they cheered like we got married.
“Merry Christmas, Liam.” I greeted him and pulled Liam on a hug, my Mum snapping another photo.

It was definitely one Christmas Eve I’ll always remember.
