Chapter 6: Where Do We Go From Here?
My stomach flipped, and I looked over to Louis who still had his arms wrapped around me.
“What’s going on?” Lou asked calmly.
“Uh…” Louis stammered.
I removed myself from his grip quickly, and we stood far apart.
“Is there something we should know? Or was this a one-time accident that will never ever happen again?” Lou asked.
“Accident.” I muttered.
Louis looked over at me with a hurt look, but I couldn’t risk losing him, or my job.
“That’s what I thought. Now Macintosh come with me, we need to unload some new supplies from the vans outside. Louis I believe you have a rehearsal to get to with Paul.” Lou said.
Louis and I both nodded, and I followed Lou out to the vans.
“You’re together aren’t you?” Lou asked.
“Well we fought today, and we were making up, but then I denied we were together, and said it was an accident kissing him, so we’re probably not together anymore.” I stated.
“What did you fight about?” Lou asked.
“I don’t even know, it was really stupid, but we were both being really headstrong, and it escalated.” I said.
Lou nodded, and handed me a box.
“You really like him?” Lou asked.
“I have never felt this way about anyone, ever.” I said.
Lou smiled, and closed the door to the van.
“I’ll help you keep your secret, but I won’t be an alibi, and I’m not covering for you.” Lou said.
I threw the box on the ground, and gave Lou a big hug. She laughed, and embraced me back.
“What if he’s mad at me now?” I asked Lou, once we made it inside.
“We’ll go to the rehearsal, and maybe seeing you there, he’ll just brush everything off.” Lou said.
I nodded, and Lou and I headed back out to the vans. We got in them this time, and headed to the studio where the boys were rehearsing.
When we got into the studio, the boys were up on stage running over their songs, so Lou and I sat in the audience, and played the crowd.
Louis didn’t look at me the entire time, but Harry couldn’t stop looking at me. He kept waving and smiling, and I would wave and smile back. Louis was watching that, and he shot a death stare at Harry each time.
The boys had a break, and Harry and Louis both approached me. Harry went in for a hug, but I high fived him instead. His face dropped, but he tried not to make it noticeable.
Louis kind of smirked, but I wasn’t letting him off so easy. He had to stop getting mad at me over every little thing. I was trying to protect our relationship and keep us together.
“Can I talk to you?” Louis asked.
I nodded, and we walked outside behind the studio.
“Why did you say we were an accident?” Louis asked.
“I am trying to save this relationship. Paul would have forbidden us from being together, so it’s just easier to deny it.” I said.
“Why can’t we fight for us?” Louis asked.
“We were going to keep it a secret anyway, so why can’t we still?” I suggested.
“Because, I am way to in…” Louis said trailing off.
“You are what?” I asked with a growing grin on my face.
“Forget it.” Louis stated.
I nodded, and smiled. Louis fiddled with his fingers, and looked down at the ground. I placed myself in his line of vision.
“Why are you being so awkward Louis? We were just okay when we were back at the hotel. What happened from the to now?” I asked.
Louis shrugged.
“You do know, and if I mean anything to you, you’ll tell me.” I said.
“Harry told me that he had feelings for you.” Louis blurted.
“Oh.” I said, now seeing why Louis was uncomfortable.
“Do you…feel the same about him?” Louis asked nervously.
I pressed my lips gently to Louis’, and wrapped my arms tightly around him.
“Why would I want him if I already have you?” I asked.
Louis smiled down at me.
“Good point.” He said laughing.
“Stop doubting what we have Louis, it pisses me off.” I said.
Louis laughed, and I grinned. We walked back inside, talking and laughing, trying to act like natural friends.
Niall trotted over to us smiling.
“I saw you kissing in the window.” He whispered.
“What?” Louis asked.
“You two, were kissing outside. Don’t worry I’ll keep my mouth shut. Just thought I should let you know how obvious you were.” Niall laughed.
“Seriously Niall, you need to keep it quiet, or Macintosh will get fired.” Louis said.
“Why?” Niall asked.
“Because we work together.” I said.
Niall nodded.
“I’ll keep it quiet, but you need to be more careful. If I wasn’t paying attention and I saw, then imagine someone who is paying attention.” Niall stated.
Louis and I nodded, and then the three of us joined the group again.
Harry tried to stand next to me, but Niall blocked him out, not even on purpose. I giggled at how oblivious Niall was.
“That’s it for the day.” Paul said.
All the boys jumped up excitedly.
“Let’s go eat.” Zayn said.
Everyone followed him out of the studio, and we loaded into the cars. Louis stayed with me, and tried to keep me away from Harry. He rested his arm over my shoulders in the car, and I leaned my head against his arm.
“Tired love?” Louis asked casually.
“Long day.” I stated.
Louis nodded.
“Are you mad at me?” Harry asked me.
“What?” I said confused.
“You won’t talk to me like you usually do. Did I do something?” Harry asked.
“No, I’m just tired.” I said.
Harry nodded, and then dropped the subject. We pulled up at the drive-through, and all the boys ordered their food. I didn’t order anything, because I hated fast food.
“You need to eat girl.” Niall said.
“I don’t like that.” I said.
“So picky aren’t you.” Liam laughed.
I stuck my tongue out at him.
“We’ve got a bad ass over here.” Louis laughed.
I smiled, and Louis put me in a headlock.
“Who’s bad now?” Louis asked.
“Still me!” I shouted.
All the boys were chanting for us to fight, and I was laughing so hard I could barely breathe, never mind the headlock.
“Beg for mercy.” Louis shouted.
“Never.” I shouted.
Louis tightened his grip on me, enough to keep me still, but not enough to hurt. I balled up my fist, and nailed him in the balls. He released his grip almost immediately, and grabbed his crotch.
“Serves you right.” I said.
All the boys howled with laughter, as Louis howled on the ground in pain.
“You. Are. So. Going. To. Pay. For. That.” Louis grunted, pulling himself back into his seat.
I shrugged, and smiled. Louis grinned at me.
“I have one idea on how you can pay.” Louis whispered to me.
“What’s going on?” Lou asked calmly.
