Trouble

Harry’s POV
It was a slow song, and I was being completely swept up in a feeling of awe and admiration as Sophie and I rocked back and forth.
My hand was placed lightly on her lower back, cusping the flimsy silk material of her dress. Her head was rested on my shoulder, and I could smell the coconut and vanilla shampoo stained in her honey coloured locks.
I felt like I was in a dream, standing here with her now, having her so close to me.
“I love you.” I whispered gently into her ear.
She moved her head and looked into my eyes. She looked flawless tonight, burgundy lips with golden coloured eyes.
“I love you too.” She whispered giving me a shy smile.
As we continued to dance, I looked over at Gemma with Nick as they twirled around the room. It was a strange feeling, but I could honestly see myself and Sophie in that exact position.
I felt like spending time all the time in the world with Sophie would never be enough and that even marriage would never keep her as close to me as I wanted it too.
As the song ended, her torso disconnected itself from mine as she clapped Gemma and Nick who had stolen the show. I wrapped my arms loosely around her waist from behind, feeling her hip bones through her dress, not wanting to let go of her.

I took her hand, leading her away from the dance floor and across the field picking up the pace as we walked.
“Styles!” She squealed. “Where are we going?”
I didn’t reply and continued to carry her across the field, heading towards the farm house.
“Harry!” I heard her laughing as an excited smile spread across her face. I started running, feeling time slip away from us. I felt a jolt between our hands as she stopped running to take off her shoes. She kicked off her heels, grabbing the straps in her free hand and ran with me, her dress flailing out in the wind. I laughed with her and didn’t hesitate to look back at her beaming face in the moonlight.
I took her around the back of the house, up the stairs, through the door and inside the room where Gemma and Nick were keeping all their wedding gifts.
I quickly pushed her up against the wall, leaving kisses along her perfumed stained neck. She grabbed the hair at the nape of my neck like she always did, tugging on my curls.
I pulled down the spaghetti straps of her dress, making room for my lips to run themselves over her tanned shoulders.
I heard her giggle as we stumbled around the room, trying to keep our lips attached to one another, knocking over presents in the midst of our movement.
I flung my jacket off and violently shook it to the floor. Her fingers reached for my shirt, prying open the buttons, loosening my bow tie.
“I love you.” I managed to say in between kisses.
“I love you too.” She breathed back.
I watched in admiration, wishing she’d hurry up, as she let the silk dress slip and slide over her hips and land gracefully on the floor.
I pulled her in close to me wrapping my arm around her waist, continuing to press my lips against hers, feeling her heart beat through her lips. My shirt was dumped on the floor, and her hands began working at my belt
Our kisses were cut short as we heard footsteps coming from across the hall.
Her eyes widened and our bodies stiffened in unison.
“Shit.” She whispered. I pressed a finger to her lips telling her to be quiet.
The footsteps started to grow louder, and for some reason our giggles seemed to grow louder with it.
I didn’t have a care in the world if we were caught, having her close to me, in this moment was perfect.
She snuggled her head into my chest trying to quieten her laugh. I felt her breath tickle my collarbones as she tried to force herself to stop.
The footsteps walked past the room we were in and continued down the hall heading for the kitchen.
I kissed her head as we collapsed into laughter. As she sprawled herself across the floor reaching for her clothes, I grabbed her by the waist picking her up and spinning her around.
“What do you think you’re doing missy?” I kissed her earlobes and grazed my lips along her rosy cheeks.
“Harry, we have to get out of her before whoever that is, comes in here and sees both us!” She attempted to pull her dress over head, but I flicked it back off and let it cascade to the floor. “Styles.” She warned.
“Come on, whoever that was, is gone now. Let’s finish what we started.” I kissed her lips, holding her close.
The frills of her underwear tickled my skin, causing the fire within me to burn brighter.
She gave into me, wrapping her legs around my waist as I carried her over to the table. Her arms wrapped themselves around my neck as she pulled down on my bottom lip with her teeth. As she carelessly shoved presents aside on the table, we heard the footsteps returning once more.
She immediately shot up, grabbing her dress, shoving it over her body. The footsteps were definitely heading towards our room this time. I grabbed my pants, hoisting them up over my hips. I rummaged through presents to find my shirt when the door was unlatched and swung open.
“Oh my god, sorry.” I heard a familiar voice say. “Shit, sorry guys I didn’t know-”
“It’s cool, it’s fine, it’s-” I stumbled over my own feet falling to the floor as I tried to reach for the light switch.
“Harry!” Sophie said bending down, helping me back up.
The lights were flicked on and all was revealed. Sam was standing in the doorway, covering his eyes with his hands.
“Is everyone decent?” He said nervously laughing.
I noticed Sophie’s body posture stiffen as she backed away behind me. Why did she appear to be so afraid?
She gripped onto my back, and I gave her my hand to hold onto.
“Sam! Buddy! Uh, hows it...how’s it going man?” I tried to hide the embarrassment. If he didn’t know I was dating Sophie, then he certainly would now.
“I’ve been better...yeah, looks like you guys are good.” He continued to laugh awkwardly.
“Yeah, we’re, we’re good. We’re just, yeah its good.” I had no idea why I was baffling on so much. Sam backed away out of the room, telling us he’d leave us to get changed but that the cake was about to be cut back at the marquee and that we should hurry up.
I saluted him as he shut the door, before turning to Sophie.
She looked as though she’d seen a ghost, all the colour had been drained from her cheeks and I could see her mind in deep thought.
I clutched her close to me, wanting her to feel safe.
“You okay?” I asked. I looked into her eyes searching for an answer.
“Yeah I’m fine.”
I knew she was lying.
“Come on, lets get ready. We uh, don’t want to miss the cake being cut and stuff.” She got up and walked over towards the door, fluffing her hair out.
I grabbed my shirt and jacket before following her.
What on earth had happened?
