They Don't Know About Us

Chapter 17

*Justice's P.O.V*
It was early Sunday morning when my alarm went off letting me know that Harry's flight would be landing soon and I had better get to the airport. Quickly I pulled a pair of skinny jeans on along with my favorite gray pullover. My extended hair was brushed into a ponytail and my feet slipped into comfortable moccasins. I grabbed my keys off the counter in the kitchen and left the apartment unaware of if my roommates were even home. I decided to bring Thor along for the ride.
An hour later I was at Huntsville International Airport looking around for that familiar face. I spotted the hair first and made my way through the crowd calling out to him. Harry looked towards the sound of my voice. He couldn't see me until I managed to get from behind a freaking giant who was mumbling about Gate 9. There he was in a worn pair of black skinny jeans and his infamous Ramones t-shirt.
“Hey,” I threw my arms around his neck as he pulled me into his chest. We hugged knowing that this stolen time together would end all too soon. “I'm so happy you're here.” I sighed.
“Me too,” Harry agreed. “It was awful hearing you cry and not being able to comfort you.” I wasn't sure how to respond and he took it as a chance to break our embrace. “I don't mean to rush, but I'm knackered.” I nodded as he took my hand and we walked to the luggage carousel. After Harry grabbed his suitcase we made our way to the airport and got into my car. On the way out we passed a newsstand where a tabloid with the club picture and a picture of an upset looking Harry was on full display. Harry groaned rolling his eyes.
I looked up at him, “You know I didn't do anything wrong, right?” My voice was unsure. The picture didn't look too good. Neither did my tweets, or lack thereof, from that night.
He looked at me with a confused expression. “Justice, I don't believe anything the media says unless I have proof.”
“Yeah but-” The shake of his head cut me off.
“I know you would never cheat on me.” Harry assured me squeezing my hand.
I bit my lip, “Never say never. I'm telling you if Selena switches teams then I'm a goner.” I reminded him trying to lighten the mood. Harry chuckled as we reached my shabby car. “Okay, my apartment is nowhere near as nice as your house. And I share it with two other people.” I warned while driving on the interstate.
“I don't really care as long as there's a bed I can sleep in.”
My lips pursed as I feigned thought. “Yeah, I think I have one of those. Remind me what is it used for exactly?”
“It can be used for a lot a things,” Harry's voice held a suggestive nature as he reached over to me.
My eyes widened as my cheeks flamed. “I so didn't expect your mind to go there.” He laughed while looking out of the windshield. “There's only like twenty minutes left before we reach Florence.” I informed him. I was still wary of his reaction to my small town life.
“I liked being able to walk out of the airport without being bombarded.” Harry admitted. “I love my fans, but sometimes...”
“... you just want to be normal.” I guessed as I stole a glance at him.
He looked at me with wondering eyes. “You're getting pretty good at figuring me out.”
“That is one point of a relationship.” My sarcasm was automatic. “I'm so hungry. Would you mind if we stopped for some food?” I asked as my stomach lowly growled. Harry shook his head and I turned off into a McDonald's parking lot. “Drive through or...”
“How are you going to eat if you're driving?” He challenged.
“Oh, I am a great multitask driver. I once parallel parked while crying over Zayn's high note in Best Song Ever.” I informed him. “Metaphorically of course, there weren't any tears. Actually there may have been. It's all a blur.”
“Well, I value my life entirely too much to let you prove this theory.” Harry replied not even flinching at my admittance to being an irrational fan at times. Finding a parking spot was easy. We held hands as we walked inside. My gentleman of a boyfriend held the door open for me. “After you.”
“Thank you.” I bit my bottom lip in a smile as I stepped inside. “Ooh it's still breakfast. That means hotcakes. No! I want a McGriddle. Ah, scratch that, I want the hotcakes with scrambled eggs. Then again I could go for a McGriddle.” I debated with myself as Harry stood behind me looking at the menu board. “I can't decide.” I pouted.
His large hands held my waist as he rested his head on top of mine. “I've missed you.” He teased kissing my head before pulling away. It was a sweet gesture.
“That didn't help me decide on what to eat,” I called after him as he walked up to the counter. He ignored me as he placed his order. Simultaneously Harry and the cashier gave me expectant looks. “Um, I want...” I played a mental game in eenie-menie and wasn't happy with the winner. “Ugh, I'll take the McGriddle.” I finally decided still a little unsure.
“Was that the hardest decision you've ever made?” Harry teased.
“It was so close.” I played along. We shared a flirtatious smile. “Oh crap, I left Thor in the car.” I gasped looking outside to my car and seeing a teacup Yorkie in the back windshield on top of black leather seats.
“I didn't even notice him.” Harry admitted causing a passerby to laugh. This visit was off to a great start.

*Harry's P.O.V*
“You need a nap and I need to get the rest of my sleep.” Justice groaned as soon as we entered her organized bedroom. I dropped my suitcase kicking off to the side as she plopped down on her bed. Her apartment was quaint and it was obvious that three women lived in the space as soon as the you entered. Yet they recycled furniture and lack of unnecessary space provided a warm homey feeling that I didn't get many places. When we arrived a short hyper girl with bright red hair was rushing out of the door. Justice introduced her as Shardai, one of her roommates, and added that she was never around.
I pulled my shirt over my head, “You do realize I'm going to sleep majority of the visit.”
“I figured as much,” Justice nodded as she stood to change into comfortable clothes. Despite my inner fussing, my eyes followed her every movement. My tongue flicked out to wet my lips as I tried shaking my head and looking away. “I can feel your eyes burning a hole in my skin.” Justice joked as she turned around to face me. Her eyes raked down my exposed chest and she bit her lip in appreciation taking one cautious step forward. She was now dressed in tiny shorts and thin white vest. I couldn't help but think of how easy it would be to get the clothes off of her.
Behave yourself Harry.
“Come here,” I opened my arms and waited for her to cross the room and fall into them. “I don't think you gave me a proper greeting.”
She looked up at me, “I don't think I did.” She agreed stretching on the tips of her toes so our mouths could connect. My arms wrapped around her waist lifting her up so I wouldn't have to bend down. As suspected the kiss lasted quite some time and only seemed to heighten the charged atmosphere. “I seriously missed you,” Justice breathed. Her voice was filled with want.
“I've missed you as well.” I bent down to reconnect our lips. We stayed embraced as our feet carried us to the only possible destination. “Are you sure you don't want to sleep?” I pulled away to ask as we stood pressed against the bed.
“I'm not really in the mood for a nap,” Justice responded before moving her lips to my neck. I gripped the back of her thighs lifting her onto my waist and slowly laying down on the bed.

*Justice's P.O.V*
I woke up with my head resting on sculpted abs. One of my hands was on my stomach and the other intertwined with Harry's. Lifting my head slightly I saw that he was still sleeping. A smile coated my lips as I eased out of the bed grabbing his shirt from the floor and pulling it over my bare body. I padded my way out of my bedroom to the bathroom and back. It quiet meaning that Shardai and Katie were gone. When I entered my room Harry was laying on his side curled up to one of my pillows soundlessly asleep. Quietly I grabbed my phone making sure to snap a picture without the sound or flash on.
@JayQuin94: I came back to this. @Harry_Styles that pillow must be a better cuddlier than me.
I locked the device setting it to the side and crawling back in bed. I laid my head on the pillow Harry was using a sleep mate and sighed. He had been here less than five hours and already I felt better. He had some sort of magic spell on me.

*Harry's P.O.V*
“And you didn't mess up?” I asked after Justice finished telling about one of her many experiences being apart of theater in school.
“Well, I was laughing so hard it looked like I was crying, which actually worked for that scene. It's hard to be a perfect actress when you just watch your co-star bust his ass backstage.” She laughed. We were sitting in the living room on her sofa. The telly was on but neither one of us was watching it. Katie sat in a recliner on our right with Thor in her lap. It was my second day in Florence and I was dreading leaving when the week was over. I liked being able to walk outside and not being surrounded by a thousand fans.
“I don't think I could have done that.” I shook my head leaning slightly forward. “I laugh my arse off and can't sing when one of the lads does something on stage.” As we're talking Shardai came into the room.
“Um, Justice, do you think maybe you can-” She stopped as her eyes landed on me. “It wasn't a delusion!” She gasped.
“Oh no,” Justice groaned looking at her roommate with anticipation.
“Hi there.” The small girl flipped her hair dramatically and waggled her eyebrows. “I'm Shardai, but you probably already know that.” She stuck out her hand.
I looked to my girlfriend who simply shrugged. “Maybe if you shake it she'll go away.”
Katie snorted, “Like that'll ever happened.”
“It's nice to meet you,” I stood to shake her hand. Her grip was tighter than I expected. “Um...” I looked around for help. Katie wore a bored expression while Justice shook her head with defeat. “Can I... Can I have my hand back?”
Shardai smiled deviously, “Yeah as soon as you answer a question for me.”
“Just answer the question,” Justice advised. I nodded signaling for the question to be asked.
“Is anyone of the guys single and if so can I get his number?” She asked with excited eyes.
Justice groaned loudly throwing her hands in the air. “I told you not to ask that question.”
“Yeah well I don't listen to you.”
Katie sat up in the recliner, “Here we go.”
“I swear you can be so fucking annoying.” This conversation was taking a turn.
“And you're controlling,” Shardai countered.
“Should we stop them?” I asked looking to the ginger who was relaxed and watching it all as if it was simply a show on the telly.
She waved her hand, “Nah, that'll only delay the inevitable.”
“Maybe I wouldn't be so controlling if you acted like an adult and make decisions for yourself!”
Shardai finally released my hand to turn to Justice full on. “I am an adult!”
Justice's brown eyes rolled. “Ha!” She scuffed standing up. “You're about as adult as Thor.”
“Don't bring the dog into this,” Katie whined looking down at the dog on her lap.
“Hey...” I chimed awkwardly.
“Adults don't let their boyfriends, oh wait I forgot you broke up, adults don't let their ex-boyfriend make every damn decision for them.”
“Uh oh,” Katie visibly grew tense as I took a calculating step away from the escalating drama.
“This coming from the girl who just got a boyfriend? How long did that take you? THREE FUCKING YEARS!”
“Oh boy,” Katie stood. “Okay you guys let's-”
“Well, at least I wasn't opening my legs for any guy who paid attention to me.”
“-not argue...” She turned to me realizing her words were having no effect. “How about you grab Jay and lock her in her room, yeah?” At this point it sounded like a wonderful idea so I carefully approached her tugging on her arm and pulling her into my side. It was easy to steer her away from the commotion and she even stopped yelling. As we neared the hallway an angry voice halted Justice's steps.
“Yeah, well maybe if you stopped being so desperate and flirting with every fucking guy you see the world wouldn't think you're just a gold digging, talentless, hoe who got lucky!” Shardai shouted before stomping out of the apartment leaving Katie standing with a dumfounded expression. I looked down at Justice who jerked away from my hold with glassy eyes and quickly turned to her room.
“What the hell just happened?” I asked not sure what to do.
Katie sighed heavily, “Let's just say things have been tensed around here. It's kind of hard when one friend is sobbing her eyes out and the other is being rude about it.”
My head shook in confusion. “What are you talking about?”
“Basically the stress of thousands of crazy teenage girls sending uncalled for hate is making Justice a little, what's the word, emotional and Shardai has had it up to here,” she lifted her hand in the air, “because she won't say anything to you.” Katie grabbed the dark blue laptop sitting on the coffee table, quickly typing before turning to it to me. “Take a look for yourself.”
I took the laptop instantly overwhelmed at the cruel words I read. Taking a seat I continued to scroll through hateful thing after hateful all directed at my girlfriend who hadn't harmed anyone. Some of the comments were less than an hour old.
@itsALLfake: @JayQuin94 posted a photoshopped pic of Harry so she'd feel less pathetic about being a cheating slut who got dumped
My eyes widened. This was ridiculous. I knew fans could get territorial, but I had no idea it could be this bad.
“How long has this been going on?” I asked in a tight voice biting back my anger.
“Umm, pretty such since you first met. Of course things were kicked into overdrive after you two came out as a couple. She hardly tweets anymore.” Katie responded in a sad voice.
“Why-why didn't-”
“We both know that girl is stubborn. No, she pretends like it doesn't bother her and I discreetly block and report every bitch in her mentions.”
My head was swarm with thoughts of Justice reading these things and thinking them to be true. It must have been why she was so upset about the cheating rumors although she knew that I wouldn't believe them. Quickly I stood walking to her room. My knuckles lightly tapped the door before I twisted the knob and entered.

*Justice's P.O.V*
I was laying on bed trying hard not to cry as I scrolled on my phone reading more and more of the things people had to say about me. A soft tap of knuckles on my door stopped me as Harry twisted the knob and entered. A forced smile tightened my lips as I set aside my cell phone and pulled my legs to my chest leaning against the headboard.
“I just learned something interesting,” he murmured not looking amused at all.
“Katie showed you!” I gasped jumping up from the bed. “I told her not to worry about it. That little snitch. I'll kill her.” I decided trying to make my way to the living room, but Harry grabbed my wrist pulling me onto his lap and caging me in his arms. Under different circumstances this would be just fine, but seeing as how I was trying end my best friend's life it was kind of annoying.
He turned my body so that I was forced to face him, “You should have told me.” His voice was lower than usual as he read my face for some type of response.
Guiltily I looked down, “I'm not going to run to my boyfriend just because some obsessed girls are being mean.” I dismissed the whole thing as if I wasn't bothered. Truth was I avoided social media for days at a time.
Harry sighed, “Justice-”
I shook my head cutting him off. “What good would it honestly do to worry you about something so... immature?” He was silent not wanting to admit that I had a point.
“You would tell me if it was too much, right?” Harry prodded. I thought it over. I really liked Harry and a part of me wanted to believe that something futile wouldn't have an effect on our relationship, but at the same the other half of me acknowledged that every person has a breaking point. “Babe?” He was growing worried taking in my thoughtful expression.
A heavy sigh left my lips as I nodded, “Yes, I would tell you if it was too much.” He nodded and I snaked my arms around his neck. “But it's not that big of a deal.” I added pecking his lips before hopping off his lap with cries of hunger. Harry chuckled following me out of my bedroom.
We decided on Chinese, Katie tagged along, on the way to the restaurant I stopped by my sister's and picked up my niece, Akira, Her reaction when I introduced her to Harry was classic. Her eyes widened taking up half her face as her mouth popped open and an excited squeal emitted. Quickly I moved out of the way as she charged towards him nearly knocking him over in all of her ten year old glory. Quanza and Katie laughed watching from the porch as my nephew, Preston, pouted because I didn't bring him Spiderman. We all went out to eat having good conversation and laughs before going back to Quanza's where I initiated a Wii Michael Jackson game competition. Harry had never played before and claimed that I had an unfair advantage since majority of the high scores were mine. I rolled my eyes waving off his claim and danced my heart out. We spent hours hanging out. Things got slightly tense when my older brother, Geremy (the preacher) came over. In typical protective brother style he asked my boyfriend ten thousand questions and nodded after each answer as if he was evaluating the meaning of the words.
“I guess you're alright.” The short dark skinned man shrugged turning his attention elsewhere as a sound of relief came from me and Harry simultaneously.
“January,” Katie muttered rolling her eyes and handing the controller over to Akira.
Quanza shook her head, “Naw, I say March, after my birthday.” She countered.
Katie outstretched her hand, “Put money on it.” Quanza nodded agreeing to the bet.
“What are they doing?” Harry asked watching them curiously.
I held up my hand, “Trust me, you do not want to know.”
