New Girl
Chapter 5
I packed up my belongings putting away the paper and pen’s me and Harry had used to make a few notes on our project. Harry being harry decided to leave and let me put our equipment away. We hadn't really made much progress but we would have tomorrow’s lessons and then we would have to work on it outside of school … kill me now.
A harsh repeated poke on my shoulder diverted my attention from folding up the sheets to the person behind me who I assumed was Daisy.
“Listen Daisy, I’m sure that you had a gre-” I paused realising it wasn’t Daisy but instead Melody and her ‘crew’ of sluts. More like crew of slugs!
“How can you mistake me for that whore?” she smirked, placing her evidently badly faked tanned hand onto her hip putting slightly. Who even fake tans their hands?
“Bitch please. Have you looked in the mirror lately?”
“Yeah, I’m beautiful. What’s your point?” She fluttered her eyelashes.
“Got something in your eye” I smirked before packing up my things.
“Listen up slut, I didn’t come here to listen to your shit insults-” She knocked my books sending them spewing across the classroom floor. Suddenly the room became very quiet “-I’m here to talk business….” She dragged out.
“Please don’t rush. It’s not like I have places to go” I rolled my eyes huffing.
“Stay the fuck away from my man got it? If you don’t then I will personally make your life hell” She spat harshly, her expression hardening. I’m going to go out on a whim and guess she’s talking about Harry?
Needy much?
“Sure thing” I gathered my books, plastering on the biggest fake smile I could muster rushing out the room restraining myself from pulling the cheap extensions from her bleached hair.
Reminding myself I wanted to stay as far away from Harry as humanly possible. Why do I even need to remind myself?
The question pondered in my mind as the cool evening breeze wrapped around my body as I walked further and further away from the building along the side walk, pulling my earphones from my cluttered bag listening to a random song.
“Peyton, Peyton, Peyton wait up” 5 minutes into the walk, I swear I could hear someone calling me? Trusting my judgement I pulled out my ear phones turning around to see a fuming Harry running towards me.
“Urm hi?” I whispered whilst I carried on walking taking a sharp right, trying to lose him. The hairs on my back prickling in anticipation.
“Don’t ignore me” He growled harshly grabbing my left wrist causing a gasp to escape my trembling lips.
“Harry what are… you doing?” I whispered falling over my words as he dragged me into the damp; dimly lit passage.
Looking around I noticed the alley was narrow, just one look at the gloom would've sent anyone sprinting in the opposite direction. I shuddered at my own stupidity to even consider coming down here in the first place; I was easy prey for Harry.
The more I tried to wriggle free of his grip, the more pressure he applied on the death grip.
“Stop struggling already” I felt tears prickling the corners of my eyes as images flickered in my mind of all the awful things he could do to me, no one would hear my screams for help.
As we progressed further through the gap between two old houses, I noticed the far end wasn’t visible as it had been blocked off by a large heavy oak gate. I was trapped.
Grabbing my shoulders, he threw my shivering body against the cold brick wall swiftly bringing his giant hands down to mine harshly tugging them finally pinning them roughly against the wall; above my head, in his left hand.
“What do you want?” My lips trembled, my confidence evidently leaving with every word leaving my dry mouth.
The sinister illusions of shadows dancing of the graffiti covered walls caught my interest.
Some were clearly tags, the most commonly occurring being; ‘the crew’ which must have claimed this alley, whilst others were graphic images of people being shot and knifed, vibrant red blood oozing out and dripping onto the walls beneath.
“Don’t look so scared” his hand diving with deadly accuracy seizing my chin between his index and thumb, slowly caressing in circular motions. My stomach instantly clenching. My heart thrumming wings of a caged bird. My breathe hitched in my throat as the hand moved up north before settling on my quivering lips.
“I enjoyed science today” His head swooped into the knock of my neck nibbling between his sacred words.
“It was nice” I lied, Mustering the confidence to converse, my voice sounded broken; empty, pained. My brain scrambled with confusion, how did his touch have this paralysing effect on me?
“I can’t wait to work on our project-” He began planting wet kisses along my jaw line stopping only to breathe “- were going to have so much fun” Kissing the corners of my lips, my body remained as still as a statue petrified the slightest movement would set him off like a bomb.
The gag-inducing stench filling my burning nostrils challenged me slightly.
“I have to go” His husky voice echoed his face Inching in centimetre by centimetre, he closed the gap between us releasing my tiny hands from his grip which were instantly brought down to his chest in a feeble attempt to push the intruding body away.
I continued fisting his t-shirt as his lips finally collided with mine, they were chapped and rough but the kiss was gentle, caring. Even though I didn’t response, it ignited a feeling I cannot describe.
“See you soon Peyton” His husky chuckle filled the now metres of space between us, taking his big strides towards the gate before disappearing into the consuming darkness.
What just happened?
