Falling for Harry Styles

Chapter 6

“No, no! Chad I-I’m sorry I shouldn’t have said that.” I tried to apologize; my hands up in defense, as his hand came crashing across my face again.
“This is how you treat me after all I’ve done for you?” he growled.
“I know. I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I-I didn’t mean it,” my voice cracked and I tried to stop the tears threatening to spill over. I opened my arms as a gesture of apology. It was my fault after all, I am the one that said we don’t do anything fun anymore. Ever since he met Harry a few weeks ago he hasn’t been the same.
He accepted my hug and rubbed the day old bruises on my back. I winced because they were still sensitive. “I’m sorry I hurt you. Are you okay baby?”
“Yes,” my voice was still shaky, “I’m fine.” I looked at him through my lashes as he kissed my cheek where the skin was red and hot. He moved to my lips as he led me to the couch. He pushed up my t-shirt and examined my lower back before he gently kissed every bruise there. I tried not to flinch when he pressed his lips a little too hard. I don’t know why I let him do this, hurt me then try to kiss it all better to make up for it. If Harry knew he would hate him even more then he already does.
I looked at the clock with that thought of Harry; I was supposed to meet him for dinner in an hour. “Babe,” I said as he lifted his head to meet my eyes, “I have to go get ready to meet my mum for dinner.” I lied; Chad didn’t like me seeing Harry.
“Okay,” he said as he kissed my cheek again, “I love you.”
“Love you.” I grimaced slightly as I kissed his lips and went upstairs to get ready.
I turned on the shower and undressed. I stood there in front of the mirror giving myself a look over. I was at fault for all the bruises on my body and limbs; I started the argument or said something I shouldn’t have, things I knew would anger him.
I got in the shower and cleaned myself, then got out and wrapped a towel around my body and headed into the bedroom. I shuffled through the few articles of clothing I kept here looking for something that would hide the bruises from Harry. I settled on a fancy enough shirt and some jeans. I dressed, and then grabbed the blue cardigan Harry bought for me and my purse and headed downstairs.
“Wow, babe! You look good.” Chad said with wide eyes, unabashedly checking me out.
“Thank you,” I replied with a shy giggle, as he tried to pull me into the lounge with him. “Babe, I have to go.” I chuckled and playfully shoved at his shoulders.
“Okay,” he pouted, “but hurry back.”
“I will,” I kissed him on the lips. “I’ll see you later.”
“See you, babe.”
I walked out the door and got in my car. I looked in the mirror at the still red mark on my cheek and covered it up as best I could with makeup. I put on my cardigan telling myself I couldn’t take it off or Harry would see the yellowish green bruises that were healing and the bluish purple ones that were new. I had been almost a month hiding the bruises from Harry and that long hiding Harry from Chad. I felt like I was about to break, but I just pushed the feeling aside and started the car. Heading to the restaurant, I was both nervous and excited about having dinner with my best friend.
