I was sprawled out on the floor in the lounge, books strategically placed open around me, from groggily stumbling in the house a few hours ago. I was in my second month of uni with a full-time job and a full load of classes. On top of having so much work to do I barely got any sleep and haven’t seen my friends much either. Perrie had been trying to get together to talk wedding details for weeks and, as much I hated to leave her hanging, I’ve had to deny and reschedule countless times. I felt terrible about the whole thing, so when she called at my break today I just couldn’t say no again, despite knowing the amount of homework I had to finish before Monday.
Harry had gone to bed shortly after I arrived home, so it startled me a bit when I heard his sleep filled voice, “Still at it, Love?”
I looked up at his squinty eyes and heavily blinked mine, “Yea,” I sighed.
“How much more do you have?”
“Not too much more, for tonight at least.”
“Do you see the time?”
I checked my phone, “Wow, is it really two in the morning already?”
“Mhmm,” he groaned sleepily.
“Why are you up Haz?”
“Couldn’t sleep.”
“Awe I’m sorry,” I frowned at him.
“’S okay, but will you come cuddle with me?” he asked with a slight pout to his lips.
I chuckled at him, “Sure.”
I stacked my books into a neat pile by the couch and raised myself to follow him up to his room. I climbed into the bed next to him and he wrapped his arms around my middle and rested his head on my shoulder. I curled my arm around the back of his head and played with his hair, the other resting over his.
“I miss this Natalie,” he mumbled close to my ear.
“I know, I’m sorry.”
He yawned exhaling hot breath over my neck and sending chills down my arms. “Goodnight Love.”
“Sweet dreams Haz.”
It was silent as I listened to his light breathing, still twirling his hair around my finger. I waited a few moments before I tried to wiggle out of his grasp and back to my work. His arms tightened around me and he nuzzled his head closer to my neck, all without waking. A small smile graced my lips as I kissed the top of his head, deciding I was enjoying too happy of a moment to ruin it with school work. I settled down further in my best friend’s bed, wrapped in his arms, and drifted off to sleep.

I was rudely yanked out of sleep by the shrill ring of my phone, causing me to jump. I noticed the absence of the body next to mine as I picked up my phone, seeing the time as 9:59 a.m. and Perrie’s smiley face looking back at me. I slid the bar and put it to my ear, “Hello?”
“Hiiii Nat!” she exclaimed. “We still on for today?”
“Of course,” I tried to smile and yawned, “We said noon right?”
“Yep, yep! Did I wake you?”
I giggled, “Yes, but only a minute before my alarm would have.”
“Oh, ‘m sorry.”
“Pear it’s okay. But I see that someone is excited,” I smiled into the phone.
“I am, I am!”
“Good!” I giggled again, “Well I will be over soon.”
“Okay see you then. Byeeee.”
“Bye.”
I hung up and slowly got out of bed stretching myself on the way downstairs, “Morning, Hun.”
“Good morning love,” he smiled at me as I rubbed sleep from my eyes. “Would you like me to make you some breakfast?”
“No thanks, it’s okay Haz. I’ll just have some cereal.” I replied walking into the kitchen.
“Did you sleep alright?” he asked following me and sitting at the table.
“Like a rock. You?” I asked pouring my cereal and sitting with him.
“Better than I have in a while.”
“Why is that?” I asked scrunching my face up and taking a bite.
He hesitated for a moment, scowling and looking deep in thought, “I don’t know really.” He shrugged.
I wasn’t too convinced by his rather unsure statement, “You sure?”
“Yea,” he tried to smile and it looked too forced, like he was trying too hard not to pout or something. “I’m sure. So what do you and Perrie have planned for today?”
“Just talking about some wedding stuff,” I replied finishing my food. “She’s got tons of magazines for us to look through. So don’t wait up,” I smiled and chuckled as I got up to dispose my dishes into the sink.
He laughed, “Okay Nat.”
“Do you have any plans today Haz?”
“Nope. I think I’m just gonna sit around and do nothing.”
I smiled making my way out of the kitchen, “Sounds like a plan.”
I made my way upstairs and quickly got myself ready. I picked up the few bridal magazines that had caught my eye in the store and made my way back downstairs. “I’ll see you later Harry,” I yelled to him from the front door.
“Byeee Nat, have fun.”
I walked out to my car and made the twenty minute drive to Perrie’s. I rang the bell and she answered the door almost immediately, “Ah there you are!”
I smiled at her, “Hey Pear.”
We hugged and made our way to the lounge. “Hey, not that I mind helping you, but don’t you usually have a Maid of Honor for these sort of things?”
“Oh, that reminds me. I want you to be mine.” She smiled as she grabbed for my hands. “And if that makes it too hard to cater as well then I understand and we can get another one, but I want you to be there next to me on my big day.”
A smile from ear to ear split across my face, “Of I would love to Pear!”
She smiled at me again, “Great! So, shall we begin?”
We got to work going through the piles of magazines on the center table and spent hours looking through and discussing various little details of the wedding. “So Pear, when do we get to go dress shopping?” I asked with a smile on my face. “Soon, we want a spring wedding next year; so, probably within the next few weeks at the latest.”
“Good,” I smiled.
We spent the rest of the evening in each other’s company going over every little wedding detail we could.
