I was stood at the airport keeping an eye out for her dirty blonde locks. I watched from the window as the plane drove from the runway to the gate. I spotted her making her way towards me; hand grasped in another, a taller woman with jet-black hair and green eyes.
“Hey Lee,” she hugged me. “This is Tanya, Tanya this is my little sister Natalie.”
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.”
“I’m a hugger,” she said as she pulled me into a hug.
I chuckled, “Well good then.”
“I thought since I have to go to three different cities while I’m here, I might as well bring her along to see my homeland. Also, it’s nice to have her finally meet you three.”
“Hey sounds good to me. Shall we get going?”
They nodded in response and we made our way out of the airport, after we grabbed their luggage. We got to my car and I tossed the luggage into the boot. “Lee are you sure Harry doesn’t mind us staying at his?” asked Jen, as we got into the car.
“I’m positive Fer. It’s fine.” I smiled at her as I started the car.
“I hope his couch is big enough,” mumbled Tanya from the back seat.
“Oh, that won’t be necessary,” I caught her eye in the rearview mirror. “You two can sleep in my bed.” I smiled at her.
“Where will you sleep then, Lee?”
“Probably in Harry’s bed,” I shrugged.
“Then where is Harry going to sleep?”
“In his bed…?”
“With you?”
“Yes.”
She chuckled, “Okay Lee.”
“What?” I widened my eyes at her. “He’s my best friend, Fer. Besides, I’ve slept in his bed before. It’s no big deal.”
“Alright little sis, whatever you say.”
I chuckled and rolled my eyes at her deciding to drop the subject. A couple minutes passed and we were close to Harry’s when Jen asked, “So… tell me honestly, have you ever felt anything for Harry?”
I poked my tongue out and licked my lips, sucking in my bottom lip and nibbling at it. “Okay I have felt a, I don’t know what you’d call it, a spark, I guess. But that doesn’t mean anything. I don’t want to date him. It would ruin the good relationship we have.”
“Hmm, okay.”
We pulled into the drive, “Here we are. Home sweet home.” I helped them carry their luggage inside, “Harry, I’m home. Come meet my sister and her girlfriend.” I called to him as we set the luggage in the foyer.
I heard him trotting down the stairs as we made our way to the lounge. “Oh, hello.”
“Haz this is my sister Jennifer and her girlfriend Tanya.” They each shook hands.
“Please call me Jen. Nice to meet you.”
“Thanks for letting us stay here by the way. We really appreciate it.”
“Oh not a problem at all. Besides it’s her house too, has been for a week now,” he smiled at me wide and his dimples poked out. “So I will leave you ladies to catching up.”
“Oh, you can stay if you’d like.”
“Oh no really, uh Liam and Niall want to get together and hang out. So I will see you when I get home.”
“Alright Haz, have fun.”
We heard the door close and Jen and Tanya burst into laughter. “What?” I smiled unable to help it.
“’You can stay if you’d like’.” She said mocking me.
“Shut up!” I exclaimed, whacking her with a pillow and plopping into the big comfy chair.
We laughed together for a few moments before a comfortable silence fell into the room. Jen broke that silence with a very uncomfortable subject, “So Lee,” she hesitated before she continued, “I could tell when we talked on the phone a few weeks ago that there was more to that, um, ‘bad break up’.” She put air quotes around it. “Will you tell me about it?”
I took a deep breath and shifted in the chair, locking my arms around knees bent into my chest. I thought about it for a moment, not completely willing to fill her in. I sighed, “Well, it all started when I met him in the market…”
