Prologue -sneak peek
"Are you sure you want to still do this? It concerns me that it might be disturbing your studies after all you are the top student of the school in more than 10 years!" Professor Nunn exclaimed, her worry lines appeared across her forehead whilst she played with her heavy chained bracelet, strangling her white coloured wrist. Astrid smiled and nodded and played with the hem of her skirt. Professor Nunn sighed and gave a convincing smile.
"Alright then Astrid, I will let you do this task for me. Besides I don't think I could ask anybody else. Thank you, they will be here in at least an hour so you can prepare the presentation for the tour. Dismissed" she quickly arranged the delicate orchid flowers in the vase and made a hand gesture to leave.
"Thank you Professor, I will make sure that they see to a welcoming and comforting tour. They are most likely in some way frightened and confused about what has recently happened to them" Astrid exhaled the breath she had been holding once she had entered the office of the Professor. She gave Astrid a quick smile before Astrid decided that was her queue and left the room through the massive sized oak doors. She shut the door behind and walked away before turning into a run back to her dorm room.
"Hey Astrid!" a small voice called out. Astrid turned around and looked at the petit figure that represented Macy, a junior in the school having a tough time ‘fitting in’.
"Oh hey there Macy how you doing?" Astrid greeted giving Macy a warm smile and a quick hug.
"I’m doing great thanks! Oh, guess what, I got 85% in my chemistry class thanks to you!" She grinned and gave her thumbs up. A smile spread on Astrid’s lips and she gave Macy a pat on the shoulder.
"That's amazing but I, have something really important to do and it's not like you aren't oh no you are very important but I am so sorry tell me about it later okay sweetie" Giving her a wave Astrid sped off distancing herself from a couple enjoying themselves against a wall.
This is Scargrove School for gifted and talented youngsters. Gifted and talented as in having abilities that extend what normal human beings are capable of. Mentally or physically, anything that exists above and beyond nature in humans. Every student, teacher, cleaner everyone in this domain has a gift or power that is different from everyone else’s, no one’s is the exact same. We all have different powers and unique abilities.

This is well a supernatural story and I swear when I started writing this I am doing my research and letting my inner comic book nerd run wild! It's exciting really! \(^.^)/
I started off with third person and I think I'll TRY and stick to that as it's well...really hard to describe actions through superpowers and I ain't writing a comic book either.
