Warm Lights and Loud Noises
Chapter 3
*Harry’s POV*
I woke up to the sun streaming through the windows near the bed. It seemed to be a nice day out so far. From what I could see, there were no clouds in sight. Only blue sky. Suddenly the events from last night washed over me. My gaze traveled down from the window to the beautiful girl lying next to me. In the bright morning sun her skin glowed and her hair shined. Never have I seen something so delicate to be wrapped in my arms to hold. Of course she wasn’t technically mine, but I sort of hope she would be. Eventually. Grace stirred in her sleep, moving her hand down from my chest to around my torso. She hugged on for dear life. It was like if she let go or loosened her grip, I would disappear. She didn’t want me to disappear. And if I had my way; I wouldn’t.
“Harry?” she she awoke sleepily.
She rubbed her eyes with the backs of her hands.
“Good morning, love.” I said smiling
Her eyes traveled down from my face to her arms that were still wrapped around my body.
“Oh, I’m sorry..” she let out.
“Don’t worry about it, love. I don’t mind.” I smiled again
She let a small smirk play across her lips.
She seemed at peace until she shot up and realised who was lying in bed with her. She looked astonished to see me lying next to her. Then, she sort of giggled, and the her face softened. I assumed she remembered what happened last night. The fact that she became more at ease with what that made me happy inside.
“I am surprised to see you here, next to me.” She said with a small smile.
“Why is that?” I asked.
“Well because, usually guys leave early in the morning before the girl wakes. Then, when she does, the only thing she finds lying next to her is a note from the boy who previous laid there. I was just sort of expecting that I suppose. But, I am glad you are here. I like this a lot.” she ended with a shy smile.
As she was explaining all of this to me, I watched her facial expressions, and the way she moved when she spoke. The way her eyes lit up when something excited her, but she never spoke of it; it only showed through her olive gaze. The way she propped herself up onto one elbow, and used her hands to gesture to what she was saying. Whilst I watched her movements, I also listened to her words. I was thinking about what she said too. Grace was right. I have heard so many of my lads say that they have slept with a girl and just left before she woke up the next morning. I was like that too. I always thought it was best to leave before she woke up, but now, I realise how much better it is to wake up to someone so beautiful.
“I like this a lot too, Grace. I am glad I stayed with you. Really.” I said with more honesty than ever.
She smiled brightly. We both lied on her bed in a comfortable silence for a few minutes.
“Grace,” I said breaking the silence between us, “I would really like to see you again.”
Grace quickly looked up at me. Her face wasn’t astonished which is what I was expecting; it was just simply surprised.
“Really?” her voice quivered a bit.
“Really. I like being around you Grace. I want to get to know you better- as friends first of course.” I finished.
At this last part, her expression softened. I was glad she wasn’t trying to kick me out after what I said. Frankly that was the second thing I was worried she would have done. But she didn’t thank god.
“Well ye-um, are you sure?” she asked questioningly.
“Yes.” I said with a confident smile.
“Well then of course.” she smiled still at the thought.
At that moment someone began to ring me, it was Louis.
I turned to Grace. “I’ll just be a moment love.” and answered my phone.
“Ey mate, what’s up?” I asked Lou as I got out of the bed and stepped out of Grace’s room.
“Where the hell are you?!” He questioned me like I am child or something.
“I went home with a friend last night.” I said smiling at the thought.
“You didn’t say anything to anyone Harry! We thought you got into trouble.... and you know what I am talking about.”
The fact is I did. Louis had every reason to be upset. If what he was thinking had occurred, then it could have very well been a terrible situation.
“I know Lou. I’m sorry. Next time I will let you know before I leave.” I said to him
As I said that, Lillian emerged from her room in front of me. She wore only her light pink bra and panties. With the light streaming in behind her, making the hair that fell around her shoulders and skin glow, she looked like an angel stepping down from a cloud. When she noticed me she smiled brightly.
“Hi, Harry.” she said.
“Good morning Lillian.” I said with a polite smile.
I only realised I was only wearing my boxers when her eyes traveled up and down my body. Then I realised I was still on call with Louis, who was practically screaming at me through my phone.
“Hey Lou, I have to go. I will call you later.” I said and I hung up.
“Who was that, Harry?” Lillian said with a hint of cheekiness.
“Oh just one of my lads.” I said trying to keep my eyes focused.
“Oh, okay.” She smirked realising my difficulties. “Is this too much for you, Harry?”
Just then Grace emerged from the door behind me. She had on a my t-shirt, and a flannel and some boy-short panties. Her hair was in a low messy bun and she had on her box-framed glasses. Lillian was a babe, but Grace is gorgeous no matter what. I would definitely choose her over anyone ever. And suddenly I could feel the awkwardness of the situation.
*Grace’s POV*
I could hear Harry outside my door on the phone talking to someone named.. Louis?.... so I decided to get myself cleaned up after the long night. I climbed out of bed and walked over to my bathroom. My box of toiletries was sitting in there, so I dug through it to find what I needed. I washed my face and cleaned my teeth, and put on my glasses. Honestly, I don’t want to deal with my hair right now. So, up you go. I actually think I said that aloud. I laughed aloud too at the thought. I stood there with my hands on the counter and my body sort of leaning against them; I thought back to just a little while ago, in my bed where Harry and I laid. Just talking. Embracing.
I admit, I was a little startled when I woke up and found him there watching me sleep. I did sort of like it though. I think I actually like him a little. Is that weird, or bad? I have only known him for maybe a day? I don’t even know. We’re technically frien- no. I don’t know.... but something could happen, right? I snapped out of my deep thought when I heard Lillian’s voice outside my door as well. Harry was out there too. My face heated a little bit. Was I jealous? Yes. Yes I was. Looking down at the clothing I was wearing, I looked to the floor to see Harry’s shirt lying there. I quickly stripped out out of the shirt that magically made it’s way onto my body last night and slipped his on. I found my favourite flannel and put it on over. I decided against any sort of trouser and left my arse in my panties.
I strode over to the door, before opening it, I listened to their conversation.
“Hey Lou, I have to go. I will call you later.” Harry said to the his friend.
“Who was that, Harry?” Lillian said sounding cheekier than ever.
“Oh just one of my lads.” Harry said a bit apprehensive.
“Oh, okay.” I could feel Lil smirking. It’s just her flirtatiousness. “Is this too much for you, Harry?” she said obviously referring to her fit body.
That’s when she got the best of me. I opened the door and the tension was so thick you could cut it with a spoon. A freaking spoon.
“Goodmornig Lillian!” I said and hugged her tightly and sounding so happy it was fake. I didn’t want to start anything.
As I backed away from her I gave a her a kind of look that says ‘please stay away and let me have this’ look. Fortunately for me, she understood. It was clear she didn’t really want to, being that Harry is so attractive, but she would just have to deal.
I turned to face Harry who smiling in relief. Although we were only becoming friends, it was almost like we have been for years. I loved it.
All three of us stood there in awkward silence for a good 4 seconds before Lillian announced she was going back into her room to change. Although it was unnecessary to announce, at least she was gone and it wasn’t awkward.
“Phew. Thanks.” Harry exclaimed in slight relief after she had gone back into her room.
“No problem.” I said almost agitated.
I don’t know why, but I was still jealous. Harry could sense that. Just like he could sense that I was uncomfortable when Jack called my name last night at the club.
“I’m not attracted to her.” Harry spoke up.
“W-what?” I asked wide-eyed
“I’m not attracted to her.” he said with a smile. “So, don’t get your knickers in a twist.”
My mouth fell open.
“I am not jealous!” I said whilst giggling the truth.
Harry raised one of his eyebrows and stared me down.
“Okay. Yeah. I was a little jealous. But who cares! You’re not mine anyway.” I said simply
“You could be.” He said with sarcastic cheeky smile.
I smacked him on the shoulder and he stifled a laugh, whilst I did too.
“Whatever...” I laughed again. “ Are you hungry?”
“Famished.” He said whilst grabbing his stomach and looking a bit sad.
“Oh come on then, I’ll go get something started.” I grabbed his hand as we walked down the hallway toward the stairs.
“Do you like croissants with nutella?” I asked turning slightly around to see him.
“Yes I love both of those I just don’t know how well I like them together.” He said with a laugh.
“Well, I suppose you’ll find out.” I smiled and lightly patted his dimpled cheek.
**thirty minutes later**
“So that’s it then? You just take it out of the oven and then put the nutella on it?” Harry asked me in a bit of disbelief.
“Yup. Simple.” I said back plainly.
“Okay,” Harry said looking at me. “But is it good? That, my friend, is the real question.”
“Well give it go then mister.” I said smirk and some sarcasm.
Harry took a generous bite from his croissant. His eyes widened at the glorious taste in his mouth.
“This is so good!” he said with his mouth full of coissant and chocolatey goodness.
Realising his mouth was full he quickly shut it and gave me a very comical ‘sorry’ look. I laughed and told him it was okay, and he nodded and smiled. At the moment it dawned on me that Lillian still hasn’t come down for breakfast yet.
“Hey Harry, I will be right back. I am going to check on Lil real quick.”
“Alright, take your time.” He said with a smile. “Oh, and thanks for breakfast by the way!” he called out as I left the kitchen.
He always smiles. It makes me smile. It just one big smile fest. I won’t complain.
Smiles...
“You’re welcome!” I replied back.
As I approached the stairs, I heard a loud banging noise coming from one of the rooms upstairs. Worried, I quickly ran up the stairs to check everything out. When I reached the top, I noticed the noises coming from Lil’s room.
“Lillian?!” I yelled so she would be able to hear me over the loud noises.
She didn’t reply. I sprinted to the end of the hallway and stormed through her door. To my relief she was standing in the middle of her room with a massive box.
“Uh, hello there... ever heard of knocking?” She laughed.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I thought something was wrong, I heard banging noises...” I laughed as I thought about what I had just done. What else could it have been? Well...
“Grace I want you to know that I think Harry is a good guy. What I did earlier was only to see who and how he acts. I want this for you, please don’t take what happened earlier offensively.” she said with a small sympathetic smile.
I opened my mouth to reply but then suddenly, Harry emerged through the door whence I had just come.
“Hey is everything alright in here? I heard yelling and banging.” he said.
Lillian spoke up. “Yeah everything is fine, I was just moving some things around.” She smiled sweetly.
“Oh, right. I just wanted to make sure... Ah, would you like to come down to breakfast?” Harry asked politely. “Grace made some croissants with nutella.” He said almost excitedly.
Noticing Harry’s excitement, Lillian and I both giggled at each other.
“What?” he asked grinning, catching on to why we were laughing. “Oh, I see. You think that’s funny. I just think they are really good!” He said smiling even bigger than before.
After a few more seconds of our giggle-fest, Lil was finally able to reply without laughing.
“Yes Harry, I would love to come have breakfast.” Lillian replied smiling. “Let me get finished here and I will be down.”
“Okay,” I said, and gave her a hug. “See you down stairs”
Harry waved, and we both left her room.

*Harry’s POV*
A short time later Lillian emerged from her room and into the kitchen. She walked briskly toward the island and grabbed the plate that I had made her; with Grace’s assistance of course.
Around the time she finished her food, my phone rang loud, startling all of us.
I picked it up. “Hello Liam.” I said into the speaker.
“Hey, you know we have practice in an hour right?” He said a-matter-of-factly.
“Yep, I’ll be there.” I said back.
“Where are you by the way? I saw you leave last night with two girls and the you didn’t come home...... Wait, did you sleep with them?” he sounded almost proud when he spoke. That wasn’t like Liam but I guess because of my slight reputation with girls in the past, he had to sound sort of surprised. Unfortunately I did have a past with girls. It is not one that I am proud of, but it is what it is.
“Uh, I spent the night here but I didn’t sleep with either of them. Grace and I slept in the same bed but we didn’t do anything.” I said trying to calm him down.
“Grace? Who is she mate!? Is she fit? She must be... “ He said actually thinking aloud.
I laughed aloud. “Yes, Li, she is quite fit.” I said looking over to her in the kitchen from the foyer. She was absolutely fit.
“Alright then, you’ll have to bring her by then, yeah?” he asked.
“Yeah I suppose. Not right now though. I really want to get to know her, I think I already sort of like her...” I trailed off at thought of her and the possibility of already liking her.
“You do?! Honestly Harry, I don’t think it will last very long. You and relationships are like vinegar and water. They don’t mix well.”
“Yes, well, I think this one is different.” I said back positively.
Could she be?
“Alright then mate, see you in a hour?” Liam asked.
“Yeah.” I said. “See you then.” And I ended the call.
I walked back into the kitchen, to find both girls laughing in fits on the ground, lying in nutella and flour, with a few croissants scattered everywhere. It is only when I walked back in the room that they began to laugh even harder.
“What is going on in here?” I said amazed by the sight in front of me.
Grace looked at me with tears of joy running down her cheeks.
“We....” Laugh. “We tried to get a bowl down from the top cupboard..” Laughing begins again. “But neither of us were tall enough to reach the very top.... we both toppled over onto all of the food.” And the laughter commenced. I began to laugh with them, just as hard as they were.
Both girls were a mess. With both the chocolate and flour in their hair and all over their almost bare bodies, they looked like they have just climbed out of the trash. On the other hand they did look quite sexy, sitting on the ground in their pj’s, covered in chocolate and flour, practically half naked. Parts of me wanted to go back to the way I was before and let my mind race with possibilities. I totally could. I was. I am.
They began to pick up some of the flour and began to throw it at each other. So many things ran through my mind. They weren’t making it easy for me whatsoever.
Finally I spoke up from the unbreakable laughter, “ I have to go. I have practice in a hour..”
“Oh..” Grace said finally serious for a moment. “Okay, then I guess I will see you later?” She got up from her spot on the ground and leant against the island. Lillian followed suit but began to wash her hands in the sink.
“Yeah. But I was thinking maybe we could all get together sometime?” I said trying to keep my eyes focused on her face and no the chocolate all over her chest.
“Yes of course! Uhm, would you like my number?” She asked.
“Yeah, that would be brilliant.” I said with a smile
We exchanged numbers, and decided that we would get together within the coming week.
“It is settled then, yeah? I’ll see you soon.” I smiled at her.
“Yep, let me walk you to the door.” Grace offered.
“Bye Harry!” Lillian said still high off of our little excursion on the floor.
“Bye Lillian!” I said and Grace and I walked out and toward to foyer.
“Well,” I said, “ I guess I will see you later?” Really hoping there will be next time.
Thankfully she said “Yes. Yes you will.” and beamed at me with her contagious smile.
“Fantastic.” Then I embraced her. Her body fit in so perfectly with mine.
With that I was out the door hailing a taxi.
When I had finally caught one, I climbed inside and told him the address I needed to be at. He pulled away from the house and turned the corner. I was in deep thought about my night with Grace. I thought about her and her smile and her hair. She smells so good. Sweet but refreshing. She was great and I don’t think I want to lose her. Ever.
I was quickly taken out of my thoughts when I heard a loud horn, and felt my body be thrown out into oblivion. The only thing I saw was bright light, a spark, and a large truck; then everything was black.
