Not You Again
*Grace’s POV*
“Grace .... Hey Grace!”
I looked around for the familiar voice.
“....Jack?”
Just as his name left my mouth, I felt my arm being pulled in the opposite direction, away from the calling of my name. Of course with the room being so dimly lit, I couldn’t quite make out the face of my beholder. As I looked down at the firm hand that held on so tightly, I noticed the faint showing of a tattoo. Though it was difficult to read in the lighting, I could vaguely make out what it said.
“I can’t change.” I faintly whispered
Some how, even over the blaring music, the strong male heard me. I looked up at him, only to have his gaze meet mine. For the first time, I saw his face. It was like nothing I have ever seen before. The way he moulded his lips into a straight line in determination revealing small dimples, and how how his hair swayed gently over his forehead and up into a small quiff. The way his eyes shown so brightly under the dancing of the lights above. He was breathtaking. Only had I realised this when I became dizzy and gasped for air. Yes, he was breathtaking, but who the hell was he?
“Wait! What the hell are you doing?!” I screamed over the music, attempting to free my wrist.
He only looked down at me in distress, and cleared his throat as though to say something, but remained silent.
Once I realised we were headed to the front door of the club, I was immediately scared out of my mind. I don’t know who this guy is, or what his intentions were. Hastily, I began to concoct a plan to escape him. I figured once we were outside I could do some sort of stupid karate move that I learned a while back in my brother Dylan’s self defence class to get away; but would it work? Having devised a plan despite the distracting thumping of the music, I decided that I would do what I thought of, elbow him in the stomach and then knee him in the groin so I could make a run for it. My imagination was shortly lived when we took a dramatic turn to the right, towards the very back corner of the club. We found ourselves in front of giant, heavy black door which he pulled me through with him at ease.
It was much quieter in the room, wherever it was, maybe he was willing to talk. When he didn’t say anything, I spoke up.
“What the hell was that back there? Who are you?..... and who the hell was that calling my name back there?” I asked. Even though i knew very well who it was that was calling my name, I was going to ask him anything to get him to speak.
“Calm down. I was just trying to help. And honestly, I don’t know, I think maybe you do though. You didn’t look so happy back the-”
“What do you mean help? I didn’t need your he-” I tried to finish but ended up falling over onto the nameless male.
“Are you sure about that?” he said catching me. “I’m Harry.” He smiled innocently.
After standing me back up right, Harry offered his hand for a shake but I simply looked at it. I was little tipsy and confused from the alcohol I have consumed before I was whisked away from Lillian by prince charming. By the looks of it, he could tell I had been drinking heavily.
“Now why exactly did you bring me in here?” I questioned almost half caring. I just wanted to get out of here.
“Well,” he started again, smiling, “I saw you from across the dance floor, and I decided I wanted to come and introduce myself. You see, you look very fit tonight and I wanted to tell you,” he chuckled, “ and my mate said that if I didn’t then he would; so I decided too.” his smile faded as he continued, “Then I saw how upset you looked by whoever was calling your name, so I grabbed your arm.” He finished.
“Oh.” That was all I could say. Oh. I know I am drunk as hell, but he is damn attractive. And he thinks I am fit!
“Yeah, despite the fact you are in here with me now, because of that, I hope that doesn’t bother you too much. You are absolutely gorgeous. I just wanted to tell you myself” he said smiling, “What is your name, love?”
That’s when my walls went up. Of course it was sweet that he thought these things about me but, no one has called me ‘love’ since Jack. Jack? That was him earlier? I thought he moved away? Did he move back? The thought made me cringe. My mind is racing. Harry stood there watching me. I think he could tell I was in deep thought. Should I tell him my name? What could it hurt.. I guess.
“Grace.. I’m Grace” I said snapping back to reality.
I know I was in this random room with some random guy but, for some reason it had no effect on the fact that he was the most attractive person I have ever laid eyes on. I barely know him and I already sort of like him. Maybe just a little.
“Grace.. that’s a beautiful name. Well, it is a pleasure to meet you Grace.”
“It was nice meeting you to, Harry is it..? Yes, Harry. But, I believe I should be going now.” I spoke sternly. “I don’t know what you are trying to pull here....” I said a little put off.
“Wait? What are you talking about?” he asked astonished.
“Well, there has to be some reason you pulled me in this random room, right? Quite honestly, my first reaction was that you were going to try so-”
“No. No way! I would never do that.” he said cutting me off, “That was not my intention. I’m sorry you thought that. I saw that you looked upset by whoever was calling your name and I wanted to get you out of there. This is my fault, I’m sorry.” he said with a mix of honesty and guilt.
My jaw dropped. I stood there in front of him in disbelief. But I believed him. The look on his face fused with the way he spoke, made believe nothing other than what he was said. Even though I was thinking that; I didn’t actually think I would say it aloud.
“I-I believe you, Harry. I believe you” I said smiling truthfully and more sober sounding than I was.
“Well I’m glad.” he said back a bit exasperated.
“I really should get going though. And you were right about that guy calling me. He is my ex. I didn’t see his face, but I know his voice, and frankly he is not someone I ever wanted to see again so, thank you, you know, for what you did.” I said warmly.
As I turned to make my way out I stumbled over some hidden chords that ran along the ground toward the door. Of course the alcohol didn’t help so I tripped and fell onto the ground; making the entire situation a bit more embarrassing than it already was. Already my first night out, someone has felt the need to help me. Don’t get me wrong, I love that Harry wanted to help me and that he did, but do I really look that helpless and vulnerable? I am an adult now. I can take care of myself.
Harry spoke after me- “Let me take you home, please?” A wave of concern washed over his face.
“No,” I said trying to fight off the alcohol, “ I came with someone... Uh, my friend Lillian actually. I should go find her.” I commented quickly.
“Oh, right. Well, would you like any help? I think there is someone out there you don’t want to see anyway. Maybe I could go with you just to make sure you get out safely?”
Inside I was screaming. He is just too sweet. But I still kept my guard up. I don’t need another heart break, or another loser to ruin my life. He was right of course, me being so weak, and not to mention really damn clumsy, I did need his help getting through the massive crowd of people just outside that door. If anyone out there wanted to take advantage of me they could, and I wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
“Uhm, sure. Actually that would be great.” I said, my mood softening more and more.
Turning around to head toward the door, he came from behind and wrapped one arm around my waist and placed his other arm onto my hand just as it had been earlier. Normally, this would have been extremely uncomfortable, but with Harry, it was okay. With Harry I would be okay.
As we exited the room, we were faced with the giant crowd of people I had pictured before. I was very thankful I said yes to Harry and his help. As we made our way through the crowd, I didn’t spot Jack anywhere. Relief washed over me like the ocean. On the way back to the bar area, we ran into a blonde boy who must have known Harry because they started laughing together. The blonde boy was clearly wasted by the way he spoke. I over heard Harry telling him to sit down before he hurt himself.
I don’t know why, but I quietly giggled at this.
The blonde boy did as he was told and as soon as I looked away, a very frantic looking Lillian stumbled over to me.
“Where have you-u been?! I was looking all overrr for you! I saw J-Jack in the corner of the club and I thought m-maybe he got to you or some-thing!” She yelled in my face.
I could smell the strong hold the alcohol had placed in her system and her breath. We both needed to go home. I remembered then that Harry was with me, obviously Lillian had noticed too because she was eyeing him up and down cheekily. She had already forgotten about what she just said, but that was only because she wasted.
“Hiii, I’m Lil-Lillian” She said trying to hold down her alcohol.
She was SO wasted. She won’t remember any of this in the morning.
“Hello, I’m Harry. It is a pleasure to meet you-”
“Lillian.” I finished for him.
“It is a pleasure to meet you Lillian.” He yelled over the now pounding music.
I turned my body more toward Lillian and told her Harry was going to help us get home. Of course she was okay with that. Harry is hot, and she isn’t going to say no to that. Especially when she is drunk.
*Harry’s POV*
I watched as the two girls stumbled around to grab their things. Both of them are so wasted it’s quite comical to watch. Lillian is a very pretty girl, and I am very attracted to her, but I don’t quite think she is my type. She can be very loud and obnoxious. Not necessarily in a bad way, but she is just not someone I could picture being with. Grace on the other hand, there is just something about her. Usually when I meet a girl I can figure out their personality very easily, but I can’t read her. She is truly unique. I feel like there is some sort of hidden treasure some where inside of her. I am determined to find out what it is too. Grace is someone I think I really want to get to know well. Did I mention how fit she is?
“Are you ready girls?” I asked as it has been almost fifteen minutes and they are still scrambling to get their things.
“Yes!” said Grace turning around with her bag and coat. Lillian turned around too, only much more exasperated.
Grace turned to me, “You know, whilst I was grabbing my things, I was thinking about how lucky I was to have you here tonight. Even though I was unsure about you at first, I don’t think I would have changed anything about it.”
I smiled. “No problem.”
As we neared the front door of the club, I could hear the faint sound of a thunderstorm outside. As I looked forward for a way around the intoxicated people I realised the girls were so far gone, they may not even know where they parked the car let alone drive it. We would have to take a taxi
“Hey Grace-” I turned to face her and Lillian, only to find them not standing beside me. I looked around before I finally spotted them by a large group of men. I recognised one of the voices speaking from earlier. It must have been Jack. Both girls were surrounded by the group of men, with Jack standing in the middle with them. Suddenly, I was flushed with worry and anger. What ever this guy did to her really hurt her and I wasn’t going to let that happen again. I have just met her though, why am I so protective? I pushed aside that thought and strode up to the big group.
“Hi guys.” I said to the rest of the group, eyeing Jack. “ Grace, Lillian? Are you guys ready to leave?”
They both nodded. Good.
“Hey? Who do you think you are?” asked one of the guys standing around. He was big and muscular, but I was taller and about the same build so I didn’t think much of it.
“I’m-” I was cut off.
“This is Harry.” said the one whom I assumed to be Jack.
I was about to ask how he knew that when I looked at Grace. She looked like death. She only wanted to go home in the first place, and this encounter with Jack didn’t seem to help.
“Yes, I am.” I said confidently, slightly furrowing my eyebrows. “We will be leaving now.” I grabbed Grace’s hand and she grabbed Lil’s, and we turned to leave.
As we were leaving, I could hear Jack laughing then he called out-
“I’ll be seeing you around Styles.”
I turned and glanced back at him, but continued walking toward the exit.
Why would he be seeing me around?
As much as I wanted to question him further, I needed to get these girls home. I don’t think I will be leaving them alone tonight though. After a few minutes of prying their home address out of them I was able to hail a taxi and get us on our way.
During the twenty minute drive back to their place, I kept thinking about what Jack had said to me. He said he would see me around? Why? I was taken out of thought by Grace brushing my knee with her hand and mumbling something that I didn’t quite catch. At that moment the taxi stopped and I looked out of the window, we pulled up outside of a very nice flat. Or should I say house..? It was a very tall building, with old style architecture, and lovely window panes. Overall it was a beautiful place. Lillian and her had fallen asleep during the taxi ride home. I gently shook Grace, and she awoke almost immediately.
“Hey..” She turned to awake Lil. “Lillian we’re home.”
Lillian awoke almost as quickly as Grace had and they both stumbled out of the car and up to the building. I payed for the ride and the taxi left.
After rummaging for the keys in Grace’s purse, I was finally able to unlock the door and get both girls safely inside. When I walked inside, there were boxes everywhere. I wondered if they were moving in or moving out. I have never seen them around here so they must be moving in.
“Grace? Where is your room, love?”
“Uhmmm, Upstairs..?” she said questioning herself.
I saw Lillian walking up the stairs, so I assumed that is where Grace’s room was to. I helped her walk up the massive staircase, and we walked into the opposite room to which Lillian went in. Grace immediately took off her dress, not caring that I was watching her intensely. She stood there in her bra and panties, completely comfortable. Her body was amazing. Every curve was so delicate. Her legs even longer than I had expected. She was thin but not sickly. She had curve and I loved it. She walked over to the giant mattress and laid back on it. Her hair fanned around the many pillows that were thrown around the the bed and over the duvet that was laid upon it too. She is absolutely adorable. I looked around the semi-empty room. When I thought she was sleeping she turned to me and gazed over my body. Her eyes traveled up and down, along my torso, down to my legs, then back up to my face.
“Will you stay? Please?” her eyes looked heavy with alcohol.
I nodded my head. “Yeah. If that is what you want.”
She nodded her head.
I slowly began to undress my self. I began to take off my sweater, and unbuckled my belt. As I did this, Grace watched me in a daze. Her eyes constantly wandered over me. When I got down to my boxers and t-shirt, I walked over to a box that was in a corner labeled clothes. I grabbed a t-shirt for her to wear to sleep. I strode over to the bed and she sat up just enough to wear I could pull it over her head. When she had her shirt on I climbed in next to her and she immediately cuddled in next to me.
This girl is amazing.
I laid on my back with my arm around her, Grace’s face was settled on my chest. Just where she belonged. I sat there for a while watching her go in and out of consciousness.
“Harry,” She suddenly spoke up “Thank you for being here with me.” and smiled.
“Of course, love.” I said looking down at her, hoping she would say something in reply.
She didn’t though, she had fallen asleep on me. I smiled to myself at the thought, and quickly fell into a deep sleep right along with her.Notes
