A New Family
Chapter 29
Jacob's POV:
When the music started to play, one by one people started filing in. At mid point, I took Red's arm, and wrapped it around mine, giving her a reassuring smile, the total opposite of her nervous look. As we walked down the aisle, I looked at how happy and beautiful she looks. I'm blown away by how dazzling she looks without makeup, with makeup she looks like Aphrodite.
I was disappointed when we had to sit on the opposite sides of each other, too far away to hold hands. I waited impatiently for the luncheon, where I could talk to Red. But I never got the chance. After everyone had left, Louis's sisters (who are total plastics), pulled Lily outside. They showed her a computer, and grinned malevolently at her. Lily started to talk to the computer, but I couldn't make out the words she said. She ran in my direction, in tears, while the laughter of her aunts echoed in the alley.
"Lily wait!" I ran after her, worriedly.
"Jacob, don't chase after her, she was just using you!" Called Georgia.
"She already has a boyfriend!" Said Felicite.
"Well, not anymore!" snickered, Charlotte. Ignoring them, I ran after Lily, who was currently sprinting into the church's garden. Damn, she's fast, I thought. But I managed to get close enough to yank her shoulder towards me. He eyes were red, puffy, and her mascara was dripping down her delicate cheeks.
"Lily, what's wrong?" I gave her a hug and breathed in rose-smelling hair. She sobbed into my shoulder, then tried to push away from me, but then I grabbed her hands and pulled her right back into my embrace.
"Why didn't you listen to what they said? It's true, don't you hate me?" I hesitated, I'm a two-timer too, sometimes even a three-timer. When I get caught, I just move onto another girl. Am I mad? Well, I've never met a girl that hasn't liked me, let alone cheating on me.
"I don't know if I could stay mad at you." I responded, truthfully. Her eyes widened.
"Really?"
"That other guy was a jerk to break up with you. Besides long distance relationships never work out."
"How did you know?"
"Hey, pretty boys can be smart too!" She laughed, and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I grinned at her, silently wishing for another kiss with those, plump lips of hers.
"How about we get you cleaned up for lunch." She nodded and I draped her arm around her; my signature way to say to other guys: "Back off! She's mine!"
Omg...flashback to when I stayed up till midnight reading this! *heart sinks into stomach*
