Lily's POV:

Today was horrible, Louis and Eleanor had forgotten my birthday! I had woken up, expecting to be surrounded by them singing the birthday song, but there was nothing. I ran downstairs and expected there to be a cake a presents but again, there was nothing. Actually, Eleanor, Louis, and Louis's sisters were all sleeping. They slept in till twelve. When they woke up and didn't recognize the date, I gave up.

I left, with my computer and phone and walked to a café. I ordered a berry smoothie with the money I had made from all those auctions when I sold my families stuff (which was about a million dollars; I have, excuse me, Had, a lot of family members). I opened my computer and sipped my birthday smoothie, it was actually pretty decent. I emailed Nick: Can you Skype now? I waited for ten minutes until I saw that Nick had signed into Skype.

"Nick! Guess what day it is?" I hoped Nick would remember.

"Your birthday!" I laughed in delight and relief.

"Yeah, I just turned fourteen." I shrugged, "No biggie." Nick chuckled.

"I wish I could give you a birthday present."

"Don't worry, you can give it to me a camp!"

"Alright, is there something you desire?" I thought about it long and hard.

"No, not really. But I'm sure you'll think of something fantastic." Out of the corner of my eye, I spotted Jacob in the window of the café, he was coming inside.

"Gottagoseeyouattenbye." I hurriedly logged out of Skype, knowing that Nick would call me back to ask me what's wrong.

"Hey Lily!" Jacob grinned at me, grabbed his drink and strode over to my table.

"Hi." I gave a nice smile to Jacob because Louis's sisters were annoyed that Jacob didn't like them. I kind of felt bad that I was using him, oh well.

Nick's POV:

At midnight, I heard a beeping sound coming from my computer. I sleepwalked to it and with half-closed eyes, I read: Can you Skype now? I almost laughed, only Lily would forget that it's midnight in my time. I ran to the bathroom and splashed some water on my face, waking me up a bit. I dried off, changed into a nicer shirt, combed my hair, and then I logged into Skype.

"Nick guess what day it is?" I remembered, so that's why Lily was so excited!

"Your Birthday!"

"Yeah, I just turned fourteen," she shrugged," no biggie," I laughed.

"I wish I could give you a birthday present."

"Don't worry, you can give it me at camp."

"Alright, is there anything you desire?" I smiled to myself.

"No, not really. But I'm sure you'll think of something fantastic." I already have. Then Lily looked away for a bit, she almost looked, scarred. I almost asked her what's wrong before she said a mumble of words and logged out of Skype. Only Lily. I walked over to my desk and opened a drawer, and pulled out a large, thin, box. I opened it and it sparkled in the light of the computer.

It was a necklace that read: Property of Nick.

Charlotte's POV:

When Lily came back from the café, it was around two o'clock. All the girls smiled at me, we smirked at Lily. She probably had to leave so she could cry in private. The rest of the day went by smoothly, Lily actually got over it, the fact that her own parents forgot her birthday. When we left for home and said our goodbyes, Lily gave a hug to each us. Did she know? Was she trying to trick us?

No one tricks me. No one. But I doubt she genuinely likes us, because of what we did. I told Louis and Eleanor, after Lily had fallen asleep that she had told us a deep dark secret. Her best friend had been killed on her birthday and the memories were too terrible. So she wished that no one celebrate and even recognized her birthday. They believed every word.

Maybe next time we can get ahold of that kid that she was talking to on her computer and tell him his girl was cheating on him. Then Jacob will take me to the wedding. All fair in love and war.
