I could tell that the award ceremony had been a drag for Daisy. She kept telling my that #9 had cheated, and pushed her off her board. We had watched the tapes over and over, but I couldn't find anything that would convince the judges. She said that she had knocked her board, but that might have just been an accident. She was always so competitive. I convinced her to take second place for once.

She plastered a fake smile onto her face for accepting the trophy and fake clapped as #9 accepted her significantly larger and more grand one.

I couldn't deal with this right now. I couldn't wait for the after-party.

-Daisy-

We were going to the after party. I knew that the cheater was going to be there, and I really didn't want to face her, much less talk to her. But I knew that if I didn't show up, she would think I was a coward, and I would be a coward.

It was just like the club that I had first met the boys in, only the floor was sand and the cielling was a tent. I loved Hawaii for this reason. Everything was on the beach and no one cared. There was something charming about having sand in your toes at all times.

While Caleb went to get us drinks, I found a table and sat down, pulling out my phone to text one of the boys. I didn't care who, I just missed them. I decided on Liam, because he would want to know all about the details of the competition, and he would tell everyone else everything.

We talked for a while about the cheater. He seemed equally pissed off. When we said goodbye I decided to go and help Caleb with the drinks because I felt (and looked) lonely at the table by myself. He was taking an unusual amount of time. There must have been a lot of people waiting at the bar.

But there weren't a lot of people in the bar. And neither was Caleb. My first thought was to look for another bar, but there clearly wasn't one at this underdeveloped affair. My second thought was that he went to the bathroom. When I knocked on the door, I heard his voice "One minute." and then I heard a girl giggle.
