Summer Break
Past.
“Okay, but first I want to say, don’t feel sorry for me or anything. I hate telling people things because I don’t want them to feel sorry for me.”
“Alright, no emotional attachment to anything you are about to tell me.” He peered at me through his lashes, then looked away to hide his smile. “what so ever.”
I looked at him with my mouth half open smiling, “You are not funny.”
“I might disagree. Seriously, go ahead and tell me.”
“Uhm, in the past, I was heavier. And by past I mean within the last two years, mostly this past year, I lost a lot of my weight. So, being overweight you don’t really get guys asking you out, so you don’t get your stuff paid for or anything. So, I guess that’s why. People just leave you out of things when they think you’re different. Unless they want something… then you learn not to accept things from anyone. ” I didn’t look at him, because I felt that there would be some judgment. “It wasn’t really a long story, I just…” I silently trailed of not thinking he was listening,
“You just thought that I wouldn’t ask you to tell me about it. But,” he turned his head, his green eyes staring into my chocolate brown ones. “I did, you told me. I’m not judging. That’s actually quite impressive if you ask me.”
“Thank you.” I nodded. “I’m pretty proud of myself, not to sound cocky.”
“You don’t.” he smiled
We were in the hotel lobby now, not many people considering most people here were on vacation and didn’t need to wake up early. We walked to the elevators, throwing our yogurt cups away in a near by trash bin. It was weird because, walking or simply standing here in silence with Harry wasn’t awkward. It was more comfortable, very comfortable.
We stepped in the elevator and Harry hit the button for the seventh floor then moved his hand over his mouth. “You know what love?”
“What?” I asked as the elevator stopped on our floor.
“I would like to take you out tonight, on a date. Around 6 o’clock.” I stared up at him with confusion and maybe shock. I wasn’t sure what I was even feeling. “Is that alright?” He said, now looking confused as well. I walked until we reached my door.
“Harry, you don’t have to do that just because I told you all the stuff, I mean I-” He moved his index finger over my lips, his intense eye glaring down.
“This isn’t because of your story, I would honestly love to go out with you.” his eyes were sincere, so maybe I should just say…
“Yes, alright.” I answered, Harry smiled, showing his dimples on both cheeks. “What should I wear?”
“Something pretty. It’s a fancy restaurant.” He came closer to me and pushed back some hair that was on my face from running. “Shouldn’t be too hard for you to look good.” He smiled.
I giggled and pushed him away. “Alright. I’ll be ready. I’ll see you then Harry.” I smiled as he moved away.
“SIX!” He yelled walking toward his door. Along the way jumping up and hitting his feet together to the side of him. “BYE ANNABELLE!” He yelled again laughing.
I laughed too, then turned to pull out my key and open the doors when I noticed it already was, and a pretty blonde standing in the door way.
