Summer Break
Somewhere you'll remember.
He looked at me for a bit, then I started to feel a little awkward.
“You look absolutely… stunning.” He smiled at me, flashing his dimples.
“Thank you, you look rather handsome yourself.” He was dressed in skinny black jeans and a button up shirt and a black blazer.
I smiled at him shyly and he put his arm out for me to take. “So… Where are we going?” I asked then smiled at him.
He looked down at me with a gleam in his eye. “I can’t tell you that.” He responded smiling then looked straight ahead.
“What? Why not?” I begged.
He hit the elevator button and one opened right away. “Because if I tell you,” he tried to reply with a straight face but quickly turned his head and started to chuckle the word. “I’d have to..” he just busted into laughter.
“Harry, what are you laughing at?” I looked up at him smiling. You know if you’re a true directioner, you dream about moments like these. Actually if you’re with any guy you probably just want to see the laughing… maybe that’s just me. But it was cute.
“Nothing… I don’t know.” he shook his head. “I don’t know.”
The elevator door opened and the lobby was half full, not too bad. And as we made our way through it and left the building there was a black car waiting outside the doors. Harry opened the door for me and I sat. He then shut it and walked to the other side. He moved swiftly as he got into the car. He didn’t have to say anything to the driver, so I’m assuming he just new where we were going.
“So, why can’t you tell me where we are going?”
“You don’t like surprises do you?” he inquired.
“I do… sometimes.” he smirked at me. “Alright fine, I won’t ask again…. How long will it take to get there?”
“Hahaha!” he let out a huge laugh.
“I’m joking.” I liked seeing him laugh, and his dimples when he smiled. Oh my god. I can’t even handle this.
“So earlier when you were telling me about losing all your weight. What made you decide to do it?”
I turned my head from him and looked at the floor of the car. “Uhm. I guess I just wasn’t happy anymore. I didn’t like who I was, I felt like if I remained overweight then I would never be accepted by other people, and by myself. I wasn’t very confident because I felt like people were already judging me by the way I looked so I couldn’t be myself. I thought about what I was going to say before I said it. I was very quiet because I didn’t want to give people other reasons to dislike me.” I looked over at him, his eyes deeply staring into mine. “I guess I just felt like I’d never be happy, or be able to accomplish anything I wanted to. People wouldn’t give me a chance.” I bit my lip. I don’t know why I just told him that. I’d only just met him. “I’m sorry. Maybe it’s silly.”
“It’s not silly, it’s admirable.”
I smiled at him. “Thanks.”
It was quiet for a moment, then the driver said. “We’re here Mr. Styles.” Harry stepped out of his side of the car, and grabbed me hand to pull me out with him. It was a very big restaurant. The front was made from glass and wood. Windows by tables so people could admire the view of the ocean, through them you could see men and women drinking with their pearls around there necks or gold and diamond bracelets. There were guards outside the doors and a stand for the people with reservations.
“Thank you Marshall.” Harry nodded to the driver then tugged my hand a little leading us forward.
“Wow.” I breathed, moving closer to him as we approached the door.
“What?” he whispered in my ear then smiled at me. It wasn’t a big smile, it was more of a reassuring smile? Sure, I’ll say that. “Styles, two.”
The maitre d almost looked scared. He obviously knew who Harry was. “Of course, sir.” He took us through the door and it was beautiful. There were chandeliers on the ceiling and private booths along the sides of the walls. The inside was black, white, and silver. I looked around in awe then I noticed a staircase in the back of the room. We went up and walked back to the front of the building to and area where only one table was set.
“Your table.” The man pointed then walked away.
Harry moved to a side to pull a chair out, I sat “Thank you.”
As he pushed in my hair and head towards his seat he asked, “What are you thinking about?”
“I’ve never been in a restaurant this, this…” my words escaped me. “elegant before. It’s so.. Beautiful.”
“Me either.” he winked. “I just figured you’d like to go somewhere you’d remember on your first date. Hopefully I’m not the worst company to share it with.”
“Of course not.”
