Perfect To Me

Want To Be Loved By You

Meet me on the roof of the hotel? Won’t take long. Xx

I read the text from Harry and I quickly set my phone down and stopped doing my hair for tonight. I went into the room and pulled my cardigan on and then trudged my way to the elevator so I could meet Harry on the roof. I swung the door open and I was instantly hit with a huge gust of wind and I also regretted not putting on a thicker coat.

“Harry?” I called out while I walked around the roof.

“Over here,” he said from behind me. I turned around and saw him standing over by the edge, looking out at the rest of New York.

“You’re going to be late heading over to the arena,” I told him as I walked over to him. He just looked at me and smiled.

“This talk can’t wait, it’s important,” he said while grabbing my hand. I gave him a confused look and he let out a sigh before using his free hand to run it through his hair. “I talked to Taylor.”

“How’d it go?” I hesitantly asked him.

“Not good,” he told me while squeezing my hand. “Apparently she actually has feelings for me and blew the whole thing out of proportion.”

“I’m sorry,” I told him because I didn’t know what else to say.

“It’s not your fault. She’ll develop feelings for anyone that shows any sign of interest. She doesn’t agree with anything I told her.”

“Elaborate please,” I told him.

“She doesn’t agree that in the public I’m her ‘boyfriend’ but behind closed doors you’re my girlfriend. She also doesn’t think it’s a good idea that you and I jump back into a relationship while I’m still in fake one because anything could slip out.”

“And what’d you tell her?” I said, a disappointing tone starting to take over.

“That I didn’t care because I love Abigail Emilia Grimes with every fiber of my being and nothing and no one can make me change my mind. I don’t care if my hidden relationship with you slips out one day, because you are who I want to be with for the rest of my life. You are my happiness, you are my soul, you are my everything. And if people can’t see that then they need to get their eyes checked because they’re blind.” His words brought a smile to my face but I still couldn’t help but feel guilty.

“So I take it she hates me?” I asked him.

“Oh yeah, she’s got it out for you now,” he said while looking down at me and resting his hands on my hips.

“Yeah, well I’m willing to fight for what’s mine,” I told him while puffing my chest out.

“My money’s on you,” Harry said as he brought his lips down on mine. After a few minutes of making out I finally pulled away so I could breathe and Harry rested his forehead against mine.

“I need to finish getting ready for tonight. Half of my head is curled,” I whispered and I felt him smile without even opening my eyes.

“I quite like this look on you,” Harry said as he pulled away and grabbed one of my curls in between his fingered.

“Stop it,” I giggled as I slapped his hand away.

“What are you wearing tonight?” He, huskily, asked me.

“A strapless dress,” I told him.

“How short is it?” He breathed.

“Short enough to not look like a slut,” I told him with a smirk on my face.

“What are you wearing underneath it? If you’re wearing anything at all,” he said with a playful smirk on his lips.

“Harry!” I exclaimed at him with a smile on my face. “This is a family event tonight!”

“So? Never stopped us before,” he said while pulling me against him by my hips.

“Harry, you need to go over to the arena now so you’ll be ready.”

“Are you going to be by the stage between the crowd and the stage?” He asked while rubbing my back.

“Of course I will be, where else would I be?” I said to him.

“Good, because I’m going to sing every song to you,” he said while quickly pressing a kiss to my lips. He stepped away from me and walked towards the door but before he walked through the door he turned around and blew a kiss at me.

I waited five minutes before I exited the roof and went back to my hotel room where I finished getting ready for the show tonight. I finished curling my hair and the applied more make-up than I normally wear, it consisted of red lipstick, black eyeliner on the top and bottom, mascara, and gray eye shadow. I walked over to my bed where my dress sat, it was simply strapless dress where the chest was a navy blue and the skirt was black. I pulled it on and used the hanger to grab the zipper and zipped it up. I walked over to the dresser and pulled on a black and silver wrap around bracelet, I slipped a simply black headband into my hair and tousled my curls to give it an edgy look, then used the mirror to put on my simple black earrings. I threw my make up into my black clutch with the rest of my items and then pulled on my gray heels. Before I left the room I splashed some perfume on and pulled on my gray pea coat. I took the elevator down to the lobby where I met up with the other girls and the boys’ families.

“Abby, dear you look smashing!” Anne exclaimed once I walked over to them.

“Thank you, Anne. You look wonderful as well,” I told her as I pulled her into a hug. I took my time going around to the boys’ families, who I got to know over time, and greeted each of them. I took more time with Niall’s mom, Maura, because she’s one of the loveliest ladies I’ve ever met.

“You goin’ to show a certain curly headed boy what’s he’s missin’?” Maura said into my ear as she pulled me into a hug.

“Oh Maura, just like a mom to me,” I told her when we pulled apart.

“Niall keeps me up to date on his best friend’s life,” she said while wagging her finger at me. I threw my head back with laughter before I excused myself and walked over to where Eleanor, Danielle, Gemma and Perrie were standing.

“Damn, girl! You look magnificent!” Dani said as she pulled me in for a hug.

“I know how to clean up,” I joked with them. We kept up the small talk as we waited for Taylor to join us down in the lobby. Another 15 minutes waiting and Taylor was finally stepping off the elevator, and she was dressed in something my gran would wear. Taylor walked passed us but not before opening her mouth.

“Abby,” Taylor said as she glared at me.

“Taylor,” I glared back before she walked away to greet Harry’s parents.

“What was that little exchange all about?” Eleanor pressed and I just shrugged my shoulders. “I thought you liked the lass.”

“Things change,” I told them before we all walked out of the hotel and piled into multiple SUV’s and made our way to Madison Square Garden.

--Harry’s POV—

“Harry, just calm down!” Louis yelled at me as I bounced around in my hair and make-up chair.

“Lou, nothing can go wrong tonight!” I exclaimed at him as Lou, the hair dresser, put her hand on my shoulder signaling for me to sit still so she can finish.

“Nothing will,” Zayn said from his spot on the couch.

“You don’t know that! I could mess up on my What Makes You Beautiful solo, or ANY solo for that matter,” I told them as Lou pulled at my hair in different places.

“You haven’t messed up on your solos in forever, Harry. You’ll be just fine,” Niall tried saying to calm me down but it only made things worse.

“Exactly! So it’s bound to happen!” I yelled as I threw my hands in the air.

“Okay, Harry you’re done,” Lou said as she pushed me out of the chair.

“I can’t do this right now. Where is everyone?” I asked as I paced back and forth around the dressing room.

“Abby will be here in 10 minutes, she just text me,” Niall quietly said, making sure it was just me that heard him.

“Thanks mate,” I told him while clapping him on his shoulder. “I’ll be in the other dressing room, send her my way when she gets here?”

“’Course. Anything for you, lad,” Niall said while shooting me a toothy smile. I nodded my head and walked out into the hallway and took the short distance to the other dressing room. Once I got inside I shut the door and locked it.

My nerves were going crazy, this is such a huge show. You know you’re something when you sell out Madison Square Garden. This was our first time playing here and it was sold out. I wanted to give the crowd the best show of their lives, and that meant no mistakes. But something about today just made me feel like everything could go wrong. I could trip over my feet when I run on stage, I could throw up, I could even forget all the lyrics. It’s one thing to perform at the O2 Arena in London, because we’re so used to it, but now we’re in the big leagues. We’re playing Madison Square Garden, this is every artists dream. I really need to prove myself to the music industry, I need to prove that I’m not just some pretty boy in a boy band, but that I actually have talent. Just as I was freaking out about tonight’s show I heard 5 loud knocks on the door to the dressing room and only one person knocks 5 times. I quickly crossed the room and swung the door open showing a concerned Abby standing on the other side. I grabbed her fore arm and quickly pulled her in and locking the door.

“Harry, what’s the matter?” She calmly asked me as she brought her hand to rest on my cheek. I just looked at her and pulled her in for a hug.

“I’m gonna mess up tonight, I can feel it,” I mumbled into her hair.

“Harry Edward Styles, you are not going to mess up,” Abby said to me as she rubbed my back. I pulled my head back and looked at her incredulously.

“What makes you so sure?”

“Harry, you’ve done SO many shows. You are a professional at entertaining people through your music and your shows that you are too carefree to mess up. Uptight people mess you, you are far from that when you are on stage. As soon as you step on that stage and hear this sold out arena freaking the fuck out, because they’re in the same room as you, all your cares about messing up will vanish,” Abby said as she pulled me away from her so she could look me in the eyes.

“But what if this time I do mess up from being so carefree, Abby?” I whined to her as I threw us down on the couch.

“It shouldn’t matter then. Your fans are still going to love you even if you mess up because they know, famous or not, everyone has bad days. You remember when you told me about your first live performance and you had to bolt out your solo after running for so long?” Abby asked and I nodded my head. “You received so much shit for that from people and you let them tear you down, but ever since that performance your fan base has grown, tremendously and has supported you since way before that. You gained fans with that performance, you didn’t lose any.”

“And I still don’t know why because I sounded terrible,” I exaggerated to her as I rest my head on her chest.

“Harry, look at me,” Abby said and I slowly lifted my head up. “That performance showed you aren’t perfect. That’s why so many people love you, because you know you aren’t perfect and you showed that when people say mean things about you, it hurts you. That’s the same stuff people go through who aren’t famous and that gave you brownie points in their books.”

“But Abb—“

“No buts. You’re worrying for nothing because you’re going to go out there and crush it, just like you do every other performance before this. Your career is sky-rocketing. You should be nothing but excited for this show, you’ve made it in America,” Abby said as she played with one of my curls.

“Will you be there? Front and center?” I asked her as I picked my head up to look at her.

“I’ll always be there for you, Harry,” Abby said as she kissed my forehead. I smiled at her before using my hand to bring her face down to mine and connect our lips in a passionate kiss. After pulling apart I stood up and held my hand out to her so I could help her up. That’s when I took in what she was wearing, her dress was about 6 inches above her knees, and she had a conservative amount of cleavage showing. Her hair was curled and wild, not to mention pushed out of her face, I love it when her hair isn’t in her face. I licked my lips as I placed my hands on her hips and pulled her into me.

“Abigail, you are trying to kill me with your outfit,” I whispered to her and saw a blush form on her cheeks, causing my smile to get wider.

“Why would I want to kill you? I love you too much,” she said back to me, gazing into my eyes.

“You look extremely fit tonight,” I said as I used my nose to bump hers.

“You go on in two minutes, Harry,” Abby teasingly said to me as she dragged her hand down my chest. Just as I brought my lips closer to hers a loud banging on the door tore us apart.

“Harry! Come on, mate! It’s showtime!!” Liam yelled from the other side of the door.

“Come on superstar, go show them what you’re all about,” Abby said as she gave me a playful shove towards the door.

“I need my good luck kiss,” I whined to her before unlocking the door. A smirk appeared on Abby’s face as she slowly walked over to me. She crashed her lips against mine, and the passion in this kiss made me light headed. Once we pulled apart I placed a quick peck to her lips again before having her make sure I had no signs of lipstick on me. She gave me the clear and I swung the door open and we both walked quickly to side stage where everyone was waiting. My whole family wished me good luck and when I turned to Taylor I felt a pair of lips press against mine. When I opened my eyes Taylor stood in front of me with a sly smile on her face, and when I looked behind her at Abby I saw anger in her eyes. I shot her a look that said it wasn’t me and Abby shot me a small smile of acknowledgment.

We got in our huddle and did our little chant before all five of us jumped out on stage to a screaming crowd. Instantly all my cares slipped away as I thought about the words Abby told me. As the brunette crossed my mind I looked down between the stage and the barricades where I saw her, Eleanor, Danielle and Perrie walking towards center stage. A large smile took over my face as we started singing the first song.

I did just like I told Abby and sang every song to her, even my part in Little Things. I sang my heart out with Abby on my mind, and I didn’t have a care in the world. As I sang my solo during What Makes You Beautiful I never broke eye contact with Abby, and the smile never left my face. As soon as I closed out What Makes You Beautiful the lads and I take a few bows and waved, then we all ran off stage to our respective women waiting for us. I had my eyes set on Abby as I ran over to her, throwing my arms around her waist, and picking her up as I twirled her around in circles.

“You killed it!” She giggled in my ear and it made my heart erupt like crazy. I set her down and placed both my hands on her cheeks, I didn’t care that the lads and the girls would see us, as long as our families didn’t see I didn’t care. I crashed my lips against her, a kiss full of passion and full of love. A smile broke out on both of our faces as we pulled apart and I brought her in for another hug.

“Thank you, thank you for everything. I couldn’t have done that show without your words,” I whispered into her ear, feeling goose bumps rise on her skin.

“Uh, Harry, Abby what the bloody fuck was that?!” Eleanor exclaimed as we pulled apart. We looked at our group of friends with silly smiles on our faces.

“That was me kissing my girlfriend,” I told them, and that just made their confusing expressions get even more confusing.

“Tell them Harry,” Niall said, the only one not confused.

“Taylor and I are in a fake relationship for publicity. Abby and I got back together a few days ago,” I told them as I snaked an arm around Abby’s waist and pulled her into my side.

“I—just. That’s so confusing!” Danielle exclaimed, causing Abby and I to chuckle at her.

“Harry, Abby,” Niall said before flicking his head to the side. I looked over to where he wanted me to and saw our families approaching with smiles on our faces. I quickly pulled us all in for a group hug so nothing looked suspicious.

“Harry, babe you were great!” Taylor exclaimed as she ran up to me and hugged me. I inwardly groaned because I knew she was only trying to anger Abby. Shortly, we all left and went to grab a group dinner at a fancy restaurant a couple blocks away. Then the parents all headed back to their hotel to get some shut eye while the rest of us hit the town. Once we were safe inside the clubs I never left Abby’s side, my hand always on her waist or her thigh as we danced and drank the night away. Eventually we all piled into a few cars and headed back to the hotel where Taylor headed back to our room and Niall went to crash in his brother’s room, leaving me and Abby to celebrate the night in our own fashion.
