Perfect To Me

I'm Still Looking Up

It’d been two days since the incident between Abby and I, and Abby’s parting words were still haunting me. I regret ever getting jealous in the first place because if I hadn’t of gotten jealous then I wouldn’t be in the situation I am in today. I’ve tried calling her and texting her, apologizing for being a screw up but she’s been ignoring me. I’ve sent flowers every HOUR, in hopes of her finally folding and forgiving me. The press got hold that we’d gotten in an argument so it’s been nothing but paparazzi’s asking me about it but so far no one knew if it was true or not, and I plan on keeping it that way. Just as I plopped on my couch to give Abby another ring, Zayn barged in through the front door.

“Harold, oh my dearest Harold, what are you up to today?” Zayn said as he sat beside me on the couch and threw his arm over my shoulders.

“I was just about to phone Abby,” I told him while I played with my mobile.

“Harry, if she hasn’t answered or called you back after the 50 delivery of flowers, millions of phone calls and texts, what makes you think she will this time?” Zayn asked as he got comfortable.

“If you came over here to be an asshole, you might as well leave because I’m not in the mood to hear it.”

“I’m not trying to be an asshole. I’m trying to help you, mate. I’m worried about you,” Zayn said.

“What’s there to be worried about?” I asked him.

“You haven’t gone out since it happened, you haven’t spoken to any of us, we’re concerned for you and I’m the one with the balls to confront you about it.”

“Why do you need balls to confront me?” I asked him.

“You can be a bit of a diva when someone tells you, you were wrong.”

“How am I wrong?!” I asked him, raising my voice a bit.

“You got mad at Abby for nothing, lad,” Zayn, matter-of-factly told me.

“I know that, Zayn. I regret everything I said that night to cause this problem now. And I’m doing everything I can think of to fix things because she’s supposed to be on a plane to Italy tomorrow and I’m supposed to be with her.”

“Well then, you haven’t done one thing, mate. The thing you’re best at.”

“And what might that be? Because I need some help,” I said as I looked at him, begging him with my eyes.

“Serenade her,” he said as he stood up to walk out of my flat. “In person,” he yelled just before he shut the door. Now that IS something I hadn’t come up with, and it was a bloody brilliant idea. I tossed my phone aside and grabbed my laptop off the coffee table and began searching for the perfect song to sing to her. After finding the perfect song, I knew I had to make this apology big…and public. I grabbed my mobile and dialed Charlotte’s number, because I knew I could get her to help me.

“Fancy to see you calling me, because I kinda sorta hate your guts right now,” Charlotte said into the phone.

“I know, and I don’t blame you for hating me,” I replied as I sat back against the couch.

“What do you want, Harry? Don’t you think you’ve done enough with the countless amounts of flowers sent to the apartment…EVERY HOUR, including the AM hours!” Charlotte said. “You know how Abby and I both are about being awoken.”

“I want to try one more thing, Charlotte, and if this doesn’t work then I’ll finally stop trying,” I told her and I could hear her let out a large sigh.

“Alright talk to me,” Charlotte said and I went into detail about my plans to get Abby to forgive me.

“Do you think it’ll work?” I asked her, hoping for an honest opinion.

“I honestly don’t know. Abby’s pretty stubborn but it’s worth a shot, Harry,” Charlotte told me, and I wanted to scream. “So what do you need me to do?” She asked.

“Just make sure Abby is at Hyde Park near the bird sanctuary by nine o’clock tonight, Charlotte,” I told her, a smile taking over my face.

“Alright, I’ll see what I can do. Good luck, Harry, I really hope it works, she’s been a miserable wreck. I’m talking nonstop tears,” Charlotte said just before she hung up. I quickly went to my contacts and selected Niall’s name and gave him a ring.

“Ello!” He cheerily answered the phone.

“I need you to learn a song on the guitar for me,” I bluntly said into the phone.

“When do ya need it by?” He asked.

“I’ll be picking you up at 8pm.”

“Alright, what song is it?”

“I Won’t Give Up, by Jason Mraz, you know that one?” I asked him.

“Of course, mate! I’ll see you at 8 on the dot!” Niall said into the phone before we said our farewell’s to one another. I set my mobile down and took a look at the time and saw I had 3 hours until I need to leave to pick Niall up. I quickly stood up and went to my bedroom where I changed into some jeans and a t-shirt. I grabbed my car keys and ran to the nearest store to grab some things. While at the grocery store I grabbed some things to make her favorite meal, in hopes we would be celebrating tonight, celebrating her forgiveness. After grabbing the ingredients to chicken fettuccine, steamed green beans with potatoes and red velvet cake, I bought some white wine to compliment the meal. Just before heading back to my flat I stopped at a floral shop and bought two bouquets of roses and an orchid. Once I got back to my flat I put the groceries away and ran to my room once again and began getting my outfit ready. I ironed a pair of black slacks, a pair of black socks, my white dress shirt and a black blazer. Yes, I know how to iron my own clothes, I have to look good when I go out. That means having freshly ironed clothes. I changed into the outfit I just ironed after showering and prepared the dining table for dinner and placed the orchid in the center of the table. As soon as I finished preparing the flat and myself I noticed it was half ‘til 8 and I needed to leave and get Niall.

“Hey man! I thought you forgot about me!” Niall said as he placed his guitar in the backseat of my Range Rover and hopped in the passenger seat.

“I was just running a few errands,” I told him as I pulled away from the curb of Niall’s flat.

“You think Abby is really going to buy this?” Niall asked me after a few moments of riding in silence.

“It has to,” I told him.

“And if it doesn’t?” Niall, honestly, asked me.

“Then I’m done trying,” I told him and the rest of the ride to Hyde Park was silent. Once we pulled up to Hyde Park I grabbed the flowers from the back seat while Niall grabbed his guitar. Once we got to the bird sanctuary Niall and I ran through the song for a little rehearsal before the real deal.

“Harry?” Niall spoke up just before Abby was supposed to arrive.

“Yeah, mate?”

“She’s dumb if she doesn’t take you back after this,” Niall said with a sincere smile on his face.

“Thanks, mate,” I told him with a nod of my head. Just as I replied I felt my phone buzz and saw I had a text from Charlotte saying they just arrived at the park.

Here goes nothing, I told myself as I braced Abby’s arrival.
