Perfect To Me

I'll Keep You Warm

“Harry Lad, where ya goin?” Louis asked the curly haired boy who was currently seated on the couch putting his shoes on.

“Out for dinner.”

“With whom?” Louis questioned.

“This girl,” Harry simply said, going to tie one of his shoes.

“Yeah? She cute?”

“Yes she is. But it’s not like that. She had a terrible morning and I felt bad so I offered to buy her dinner since she lost her breakfast.”

“Hm. That’s awful nice of you. You gonna bring her ‘round? I’d love to meet her,” Louis said from his new spot across from Harry.

“No mate. I’m almost certain she isn’t aware that I’m in One Direction and I just don’t want to take any risks.”

“Hold on there lad, she doesn’t know who you are? That’s absurd!” Louis exclaimed.

“No it’s not. And if she does know who I am she does a damn good job at treating me like she doesn’t and I like that about her.”

“You fancy her.”

“I do not. I don’t even know the girl! I just know her name!” Harry yelled while standing up and slipping his coat on.

“Whatever mate, in a few weeks you two will be dating,” Louis joked, but Harry took it all too serious.

“Mate! Now I know why Eleanor thinks you’re so annoying! Just leave me be and let me go have a nice time okay? You make it seem like I’ve never fancied a girl before!” Harry yelled out as he walked out of the flat he shared with Louis. As he walked down the hall he pulled out his phone to text the girl he was meeting:

I’m on my way to Nando’s, see you in a bit!

Harry looked over the text before he sent it and once he felt it was okay he sent it. Almost instantly he got a reply back.

From: Abby
I totally forgot to walk my dog this morning so she’s probably suffering right now! Do you just want to meet me at the Starbucks we ran into at? Yeah? And you can just come over to my place real quick? I don’t want to keep you waiting

I smiled at her message and decided to be a bit witty.

Thought you don’t want me knowing where you live? Cause I could be a ‘pedophile’? See ya in a bit

I stood on the curb outside and hailed a cab before the paps saw me. I hope they don’t ruin this night, as much as I want her to know who I am there’s a part of me that doesn’t want her knowing. She treats me how I wish more people treated me, like a normal human being.

The cabbie pulled up outside the Starbucks and I quickly handed him some money as I hopped out into the cold London air. I found a bench outside and took a seat as I waited for Abby to come meet me. I don’t know what it is about her but she just seems so interesting, and I really want to get to know her more. She’s not really my type though, I like short hair and girls who aren’t super skinny, but I loved her personality. She’s a female who isn’t afraid to curse, she’s humorous and you can tell she’s very independent. As I waited I decided to pull my phone out and check Twitter. I was scrolling through my timeline when a tweet caught my attention:

@Louis_Tomlinson: My mate @harry_styles left me for another woman! How dare him! Directioner’s do your thing and punish him! X

I groaned to myself at his tweet, he’s a real pain in my rear. Just as I was about to reply to him a person stood in front of me, facing me. I lifted my head up and my eyes came in contact with the face of Abby.

“Hey Abby!” I said as I stood up.

“Hello Harry,” she said with a smile on her face. “Are you ready to head to my place so I can walk my dog?” She asked me, tilting her head to the side a little bit.

“Of course, lead the way!” I said, throwing my arms out drastically. We began walking down the slightly empty sidewalk when I noticed Abby pull her cardigan tighter around her body.

“Would you like my jacket?” I asked her.

“Oh no I’m fine. My place is just 3 blocks away, I’ll manage.”

I took my jacket off any way and handed it to her, she looked up at me and took it.

“Thanks,” she mumbled as she pulled it on. “Are you sure you aren’t cold?” She asked and I shook my head. We continued walking the streets of London until we strolled up to a nice building. We walked in the doors and went straight to the lift.

“So Abby, how old are you?” I curiously asked.

“I’m twenty years old, yourself?” She asked as we climbed the levels.

“Eighteen,” I simply stated and the lift came to a stop on the third floor and when the doors opened I ushered for Abby to go first.

“I take it your in university then?” She asked over her shoulder as she went to unlock her door.

“Uh, no. Something came up when it was time for me to go.”

“That’s too bad. I didn’t go to university or college either. Now I must warn you, my dog isn’t too fond of men. She only likes my grandfather and the doorman,” Abby said while cautiously opening the door. As soon as we walked in Abby was happily greeted by an all-white husky with white eyes, it couldn’t have been more than 6 months old.

“Hello Sage! Did you miss mommy?” Abby said to the dog as she pet it. After petting the dog Abby stepped aside and allowed me to walk in behind her where the dog eyed me, and got down into a stance and started to growl. Next thing I know the dog barked and then jumped up connecting its paws to my thighs, and it smiled at me.

“I think it likes me,” I said as I scratched behind its ears. “What’s its name?”

“Her name is Sage,” Jade said as she walked further into her flat, I’m assuming to get the leash for Sage.

“It’s a pretty name for a pretty dog.”

“Thanks. Um, if you want you can make yourself at home as I walk her? It shouldn’t take long, I imagine as soon as she hits grass she’ll go.”

“Okay, yeah I can wait ‘round here then,” I said to her as I followed her into her flat and I spotted some couches and went over to sit on them.

“I’ll just be right back!” She yelled and then I heard the door shut. I sat there for a little bit but I have the jitters so I stood and began walking around her living area. She was living pretty well for a twenty year old that didn’t attend university. On one of the walls she had many picture frames hanging up, some were of her from when she was little I assumed. One picture in particular caught my eye, she was in the middle of two people that were older than her, possibly her parents, and she had the biggest smile on her face, and the man and woman on the sides of her had one just as big. She was in a cap and gown, so I assume it was her high school graduation and Abby was holding a sign that said “We didn’t think you’d make it, Jet!” Next to that frame there was another of her, when she was younger, with the same man and woman and Abby was sitting on the man’s shoulders holding her arms out like she was an airplane while the woman stared on in admiration. I was too preoccupied with her photos that I didn’t even hear her door open.

“Those are my grandparents,” Abby said from beside me.

“You seem close with them, I take it you’re Jet?” I stated and she nodded her head as she stared at the photo.

“I am.”

“Why aren’t there any photos of your parents?” I asked, not knowing it was a touchy subject.

“I have some family issues going on with them right now,” she said and the smile that was on her face faltered.

“Oh I apologize. How was your walk?” I asked her, hoping to change the topic.

“It was good. There are a bunch of teenage girls outside though, claiming some boy ran in here that I guess is famous? I don’t know. Stan wouldn’t let them in and claimed the boy they were looking for wasn’t in here and that he went in a different building. It was weird,” she said as she walked into a room on the wall opposite of the one I stood at. She walked out less than a minute later with a coat in her hand while she shrugged mine off. I walked over to help her take it off and when I did she thanked me and I helped her put on her coat before putting mine on. We approached her door when I reached out and grabbed her shoulder.

“Abby can I ask you a question?” I asked when she turned around.

“You just did,” she said with a smile adorning her face. “What’s up?”

“Do you really not know who I am?” I asked her, desperation in my eyes.

“Excuse me?” She asked, confusion written all over her face.

“Do you have a computer?” I asked and she led me into her dining area and pointed to a laptop that sat on a table, I walked over to it and she followed me. I typed One Direction into YouTube and clicked on our video for ‘What Makes You Beautiful’. It started to play and Abby was still confused. Liam was opening the song and I was patiently awaiting my part that followed his. When my face popped up on the screen Abby’s mouth fell open.

“Oh my god! You’re the boy the girls were looking for! I knew you looked familiar I just couldn’t put my finger on where I’d seen you before!” She exclaimed while watching the video with an incredulous look on her face.

“Yes, I’m in the band One Direction.”

“That was in California right? I remember that shoot! The beach was shut down the day I wanted to go on it when I was visiting some of my friends in the states last year!” She said as the video ended. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Pardon?” I asked.

“Why didn’t you tell me you’re in one of the biggest bands in the world right now?” She said, repeating herself.

“Why didn’t you know who I was?” I said to her with a laugh.

“I don’t pay attention to that stuff! I’m too busy with work to watch music videos or whatever else! Now why didn’t you tell me?” She said.

“I don’t know. I wasn’t sure if you knew who I really was or not. Then I realized I didn’t care because I like how you treated me when you first met me, you were yourself and you treated me like the normal boy I am.”

“Oh my, well we don’t have to go out if you don’t want? I don’t know if those girls are still down there?”

“No! Let’s go, you had a terrible morning and I want to make it up to you!” I said as I pulled her towards her door. She locked her door and we rode the lift down to the lobby where the doorman was waiting for us.

“Stan! You are the devil! Why didn’t you tell me he was the boy?” Abby said as she pointed to me.

“Why didn’t you know!” He said with a smile on his face. Abby just shook her head and apprehensively looked out the window of the door.

“I think the coast is clear,” she said, turning to me and Stan held the door open for us as we stepped out into the streets of London. We walked up to the curb and I hailed a cab for us, just as we were climbing in a flash went off.

“Ah shit,” I said as I closed the door to the cab.

“What’s the matter?”

“I think paps just took a photo of us, it’ll probably be all over the internet tomorrow, I’m sorry,” I said to Abby and she just waved it off.

“To the closest Nando’s please!” Abby told the cabbie and he began to drive. The drive over was pretty quiet aside from the small parts of conversation between us. We arrived at Nandos and I paid the cab fare and got out and Abby followed me. We ordered our food and took a seat, and so began our conversation.

“So I take it One Direction was the thing that came up when it was time for you to attend college?” Abby asked from across the table.

“Ding, ding, ding, you are correct!” I said to her and she smiled. “Why didn’t you go?” I asked.

“Well I went to Stanford, for pre-law, but I only went for three weeks and then dropped out. College wasn’t for me, I didn’t like the atmosphere.”

“I see. Why pre-law? You don’t seem like one who likes law,” I asked her, truly wanting to know.

“Family tradition. Both my parents are lawyers, and my dad’s parents were lawyers,” Abby said while nodding her head. “What did you do before the band?”

“Well I was in another band prior, with a couple of mates, and I went to school to get my GCSE and I worked in a bakery,” I told her, her eyes never leaving mine.

“That’s neat! I’ve always wanted to work in a bakery!”

“I loved it. I got all the sweets I wanted. So, what kind of work do you over here in London?” I asked her and a smile broke out on her face.

“Mainly photography for like magazines, schools, stuff like that and I do a little bit of film. I work for a company that has offices all over the world.”

“Yeah, that’s really cool. I’ve always wanted to be a photographer but I’m afraid I’m not very good,” I said and Abby just laughed at me, she had a beautiful laugh.

“A lot of people think it’s easy but it’s actually not. Lighting and angle is really difficult, and it’s all about capturing the perfect picture. Not just taking a picture and editing it to make it look fancy.”

Once our food arrived we ate dinner and still kept the conversation going, she was really funny and had a great sense of humor. Not only that but she was gorgeous, even though she had long hair and had a little bit of meat on her bones she was still gorgeous. Her eyes were a piercing blue with darker blue specs and grey specs, they were almost icy. Throughout the dinner she managed to keep the conversation going, never letting it hit a dull moment, I loved that about people. She had this confidence vibe to her and it was sexy not going to lie. I love it when a girl is confident and carefree, as one might say. She also didn’t wear a lot of makeup, even though she did say she woke up late today but when the contents of her purse spilled onto the sidewalk as I helped pick it up I noticed her makeup was in her bag. I really want to get to know her some more because I love different and Abby is definitely different. After we finished dinner we ran into a few fans who asked for pictures and what not and Abby was very patient with it, she even snapped some pictures for my fans. We got a cab back to her building and I walked her up to her floor.

“I had a great time tonight,” she said from beside me.

“I did too, I hope it made you feel better about your crummy morning?”

“Oh, it did. Although I still miss my muffin.” I couldn’t help but laugh at that. She loves food.

“I’m sure it misses you too!” I said staring into her eyes.

We stared at one another for a while and I went to lean in to kiss her when a bark interrupted us. It was her dog, seeing as we were in front of her flat’s door.

“Sage knows we’re back,” Abby said with a shy smile on her face, and a blush that complimented it.

“Yeah, I better let you go. I hope we can hang out again yeah?” I asked, hoping she says yes.

“Yeah I’d like that, I’d like that a lot,” she said and she came in and hugged me goodbye, which I hugged her back in return.

“I’ll see you later then,” I said and turned around to walk away.

“Goodnight Harry,” She called out and I turned around with a smile on my face and waved goodbye.

Louis was right, I think I fancy the girl.

Comments please!
Sorry this update is so late, I spent all day painting my room and looking for decorations! My room's theme is LONDON :) Anyways, I'm also not in the best of moods because on Monday I'll be putting my 15 year old dog to sleep that I rescued from a bad home, so my mind is a little scattered right now.
