She's Not Afraid
Why Me?
“I’ll Skype and call you every chance I get!” Louis smiled and waved.
“Love you!” I smiled.
“Love you too!” They were off.
“Perrie, you’re so quiet.” Adrienne commented. I totally forgot they were both there.
“Yeah.” She shrugged. No wonder Zayn loves her so much. They’re so similar, yet so different.
“Have you started getting stuff together for the nursery?” Adrienne asked. Perrie’s eyes lit up.
“No I haven’t even started that. Louis and I got the room cleaned out; he said I can design it how I want.” I smiled a little.
“Can we help?!” Perrie asked, cheerfully.
“Of course, you two were going too whether you agreed or not!” I giggled. We walked back to the car and drove home.
“What about tings from Ikea?” I asked, rubbing my temples. Things like this ALWAYS stress me out.
“Does your accent come out like that when you’re stressed too?” Adrienne asked. I nodded.
“You’re Irish too?” Perrie looked at me.
“Yep, I have da luck o’ da Irish!” I wriggled my eyebrows.
“So have you told Louis the genders?” Adrienne asked me.
“Nope, didn’t have the chance too, between him and Harry fighting and him flipping a shit over packing, I never got the chance.” I sighed.
“TELL ME THE GENDERS?!” Perrie squealed. Both Adrienne and I looked at her.
“Boy and a girl. Perrie are you on drugs?” I laughed.
“No, I’m just excited!” She was jumping in her seat.
“Have the babies started kicking yet?” Adrienne asked me.
“Yeah, they move around too much.” I whined as I felt a little kick against my ribs. Both girls laughed at me.
“That’s what you get for not wearing a condom.” Perrie teased.
“Hey, I was on birth control! I am the damn one percent!” I playfully pouted.
“You’re special.” Adrienne laughed.
“Yes, very much so!” I beamed.
“What do you want for dinner?” Adrienne whined.
“Anything!” I whined. Perrie shook her head.
“Where are we ordering from?” I whined.
“Chinese?” Perrie suggested. We both nodded in agreement. Perrie placed the order and we decided to sit and watch doctor who reruns. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach.
“Anna, you okay?” Adrienne looked at me, concerned.
“Yeah, just in pain.” I winced.
“Describe the pain love.” She sat next to me.
“I think one of the babies just did a full fucking summersault.” I leaned back; the pain went away as quickly as it came.
“Okay, just keep an eye for any irregular bleeding.” She told me. I nodded. I missed Louis. How did Perrie deal with tours? I was in the mental hospital for the first one…but this one I’m home.
“How’d you do it?” I looked at Perrie.
“Excuse me?” Perrie asked.
“Deal with da boys leavin’ fer tour?” I asked.
“Oh! I’m used to distance. I mean I tour too, but usually Zayn and I Skype, facetime, text and call.” She smiled. I just nodded.
“Ah shit, my phones upstairs.” I sighed, slowly getting up to make the long walk to our room.
“Why don’t you let me get it?” Adrienne suggested.
“No, I’m already up.” I reassured her.
“Okay.” She sighed. I made my way upstairs to the room. My phone happened to be ringing.
“Hello?” I asked.
“Baby! I miss you.” Louis bellowed.
“Hi Lou, I miss you too.” I smiled.
“How are you?” He asked.
“Tired and hungry, yourself?” I responded.
“I want food!” He sounded hyper.
“How much caffeine did Niall give you?” I laughed.
“I only had…three pixie sticks.” Louis chuckled.
“Ugh, I miss you like crazy.” I plopped onto the bed.
“I miss you too, love.” He said softly.
“Where do you guys go first?” I asked.
“I don’t remember. Hey, I got to go, I’ll text you, love you, bye.” He said and hung up.
I smiled a little and made my decent downstairs. The pains in my stomach returned. I sat down on the steps and tried breathing.
“Anna, food.” Perrie called.
“Coming!” I got up slowly. As soon as I stood, the pain returned. I winced and slowly made it down stairs.
“Anna? What’s wrong?” Adrienne looked concerned.
“I’m in pain.” I hissed.
“Forget the food, let’s go to the hospital.” Perrie stated, grabbing her keys. Adrienne and I just
nodded. She helped me to the car.
At the hospital
I was rushed back to a room and was immediately hooked up to a bunch of monitors and such. The pain had gotten worse. The ultra sound tech came in and began the process.
“Anna, I’m sorry…one of the babies is a stillborn.” She looked at me.
“Meaning?” I knew the meaning…I just needed to hear it.
“He didn’t make it. The choice is yours, you can keep him until your due date, or we can operate.” She said sympathetically.
“Can I take a minute t’ tink ‘bout it?” I asked. She nodded and left. Adrienne and Perrie rushed in.
“What happened?!” They must have seen the look on my face.
“One didn’t make it.” I said, staring at the wall. Their faces fell.
“Anna…we’re sorry.” Adrienne sat next to me and pulled me into a hug.
“What should I do?” I whispered.
“Honestly? It may be better to get the operation.” She rubbed my back. I nodded, she was a nurse after all.
“When are you going to tell Lou?” Perrie asked.
“I don’t know…” I sighed. The nurse walked back in.
“Ready?” She asked.
“Operation.” I stated. She nodded and began the necessary preparations.
Louis’s P.O.V
“Louis!” Niall yelled from the other room. Me, him and Liam were sharing a room.
“What?” I responded.
“What were da girls doin’ when ya called?” He asked.
“They were at home I assume.” I shrugged. Now that he mentioned it, Anna hasn’t texted me back.
“Okay, I’m gonna call Adri.” He smiled.
“Ask her if Anna’s okay?” I asked.
“Sure, why?” He asked.
“She hasn’t replied to my texts.” God I sound like one of those obsessive boyfriends.
“Sure mate, I’ll ask.” Niall reassured me. I nodded as a thanks. I decided to go on my laptop. My eyes went wide when I read the most recent headline:
Louis Tomlinson: Already Cheating on Anna?
It had a picture of me and a girl. It was the girl I was showing how to get to the hotel. Is that why Anna’s not talking to me?
“Louis…you may wanna hear dis?” Niall came in, face pale.
Anna’s P.O.V
I woke up, completely disoriented. Adrienne and Perrie were sitting in the chairs next to me.
“Wha happened?” I asked.
“Surgery love.” Adrienne smiled.
“How’d it go?” I asked.
“Well good news, and bad news.” She rubbed my arm.
“What’s da bad news?” I asked.
“Well you lost one of your babies.” She looked down.
“Good news?” I asked, feeling tears well up in my eyes.
“The other survived. You’re having a baby girl.” She smiled. I nodded. Her phone went off and she went out to answer. I looked at Perrie.
“I feel horrible.” I looked down.
“Why love?” She asked, startled.
“I fail. If I wouldn’t have gotten into dat fight, if I wouldn’t have relapsed…maybe I’d still have both.” I started crying.
“Love you!” I smiled.
“Love you too!” They were off.
“Perrie, you’re so quiet.” Adrienne commented. I totally forgot they were both there.
