The Happiest Place On Earth

People tend to think that celebrities have the best lives in the world - that everything they do must be all fun and games. They're wrong. There are upsides and downsides, just like everything else in life. Sometimes being a celebrity can be a hassle, but, yes it's true, there are definitely moments that make it all worthwhile. Those moments are the simplest ones - the ones shared between family and friends. The moments that include laughter and love and being able to feel like an ordinary person again.

To be ordinary is one of the best feelings because everyone is normal, celebrities and non-celebrities alike, but being a celebrity means you are put on a pedestal and your every move is watched: you are no longer ordinary. So sometimes you just have to play the game with the cards you were dealt and make the best of any situation.

"Ryan if only you could have been there when we had a prank war. It was one of the most hilarious things I have ever done," Alanis chuckled. "And it just so happened to make YouTube history."

Kaylani and Jake sat cuddled together as they listened to Alanis retell the stories of their prank war against the boys of One Direction. After Kaylani made amends with Jake the pair were inseparable and decided that they both just needed to be there for each other for a while.

"I saw the video actually. I gotta admit it though, you've definitely stepped up your game Kaylani." Ryan had a look of humor in his eyes as he glanced at her. "You're still the reigning champ."

Everyone in the room laughed loudly at that statement when they caught Kay's smirk. They all knew that she would be hard to take down, but they were planning on doing it eventually. Maybe sooner than she expected.

Louis had opened his mouth to start talking, probably about the time he almost scared Kaylani, almost, but Paul took the opportunity to interrupt. "Sorry to break this up, but boys you should probably step outside and say hi to fans for a few minutes. They're a little more intense than usual and security's trying to clear it up but they refuse to move unless they see you for at least a few seconds."

"Okay, but Kay, Ryan, Jake, Al, and Sam have to come with us." Zayn said as he Louis, Niall, Liam, and Harry shared a knowing glance while they stood.

"What? Why?" Jake pushed his bottom lip out just enough to make him look like a pouty five-year-old. He was comfortable on the couch and didn't want to get up.

"Because I said so. Now let's go!" Zayn smiled excitedly then grabbed Kaylani's hand to pull her up causing her to grunt in the process.

"Hey, be careful. She's delicate." Harry couldn't help but chuckle at the look on Kaylani's face as he spoke. When he was within reach of her he wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed a gentle kiss on her head. "Oh come on, you know I love you."

Kaylani rolled her eyes before stepping out of his embrace and hopping on Jake's back. "Let's go steed!"

"Steed? The fuck? I'm not your horse Kay." Jake tried to shake Kaylani off of his back but she had a good hold on him and the fact that everyone was encouraging her didn't help him at all. "Fine, whatever. Let's just get this show on the road."

"Uh, guys?" No one noticed but Ryan was sitting on the couch fidgeting as everyone smiled and started to make their way out of the bus. "I don't know if I'm really comfortable with that."

With a few glances shared between everyone on the bus it only took a few seconds before someone grabbed his hand and pulled him off of the couch. "We'll be with you every step of the way and if you end up feeling uncomfortable you can come back to the bus. We at least want to show our fans our friends. They also tend to be nicer when we have friends with us."

"Oh, so we're your bait?" Alanis laughed loudly as she intertwined her hand with Liam's. She immediately walked off the bus without giving anyone a chance to answer because the screams started the minute the door opened. Everyone simply shrugged before following her lead and making their way outside.

Once the group was outside safely Kaylani hopped off of his back and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before making her way to her rightful spot next to Harry. As soon as the duo were within arms reach Harry snaked his arm around her back and pecked her cheek causing the crowd to go even crazier.

Everyone made their way to the fans and took pictures with them and signed autographs, even Jake, Kaylani, Alanis, and Sam, before someone finally noticed Ryan standing to the side looking a little sheepish.

"Wait, no offense but who are you? You and Jake are twins, obviously, but we've never seen you around the boys before! Unless it was actually you in some of the pictures and not Jake... like you switched places or something. Now I'm just confusing myself." A fan trailed off as she looked between the brothers rapidly.

"Uh... hi. I'm Ryan. It wasn't me in any of the pictures, I just met the boys today actually." As Ryan delved further into the story of him and Jake he found himself easing up to the fans. Eventually ten minutes had passed so Kaylani walked up to him and rested her head on his shoulder as she smiled.

"I knew you'd get along with everyone well. You had nothing to be worried about." She couldn't keep the slight gloating out of her voice but Ryan didn't seem to mind.

"Yeah, yeah. Here's a piece of advice," Ryan addressed the eager fans who were watching their exchange, "never underestimate Kaylani, she's almost always right."

The fans chuckled before squealing when they noticed Harry walk up behind the pair. "That is 100 percent true. Also, never get in a pillow fight with her. She's vicious. Just ask any of the boys."

Kaylani's mouth formed an 'o' as she registered what Harry said along with Ryan's chuckles and nod in agreement. "Hey! I'm not that bad!"

"Yes you are!" was the chorus of responses from the rest of her friends. They had finally gathered around and caught the end of their conversation.

"Oh fuck off." Kaylani jokingly grumbled as she ran towards the gate that separated the fans from the boys. "They're just jealous because they all know I kick their asses at pillow fights and prank wars."

The chorus of sniggers from the crowd was all the incentive she needed to turn around and smirk smugly at her friends. "See, the Directioners even agree with me."

"They still love us better though." Niall yelled loud enough for the entire crowd to hear him which earned a round of loud screaming in return. "As a matter of fact, they love us so much that they agreed to do us a favor. Isn't that right?" Another round of screaming was the response.

"What are you talking about?" Kaylani started to slowly walk to the side when she noticed the smirks on everyones faces - her friends and the fans.

"Well we decided it was time to get you back for the prank war so we decided, what better way to prank the champ than by calling in reinforcements?" Louis slowly edged his way closer to Kaylani as he spoke until he was standing a foot away from her. "Now, what was the key phrase again?" He tapped his chin as he pretended to think. "Oh yeah, GET HER!"

As soon as the words left Louis' mouth he ran back to the group of friends just in time to avoid getting hit with hundreds of balloons filled with water and paint in the form of powder. Just as he stepped back in line with his friends they all released a second round of balloons at her.

Once all of the balloons were gone the group started to laugh hysterically before running along the fence and hi-fiving all of the fans who helped them out. It took a good two minutes before the laughter died down enough and by that point Kaylani was laughing as well.

"Congratulations, you all got me." Kaylani laughed as she pushed some of her hair out of her face.

"You needed to be knocked off of that pedestal of yours. It's no fun when you don't get pranked back." Harry chuckled as he took cautious steps towards his paint and water covered girlfriend. When he was within arms reach he pulled one last balloon out from behind his back and popped it on her head. Since the balloon was popped directly on top of her head it made the powder run down her entire body and mixed with the water it turned her into a human Smurf. "Payback's a bitch baby, but I still love you."

The fans went wild when they heard Harry tell Kaylani he loved her and but they were also too busy laughing at how ridiculous Kaylani looked.

"You're right. Payback is a bitch." Kaylani smirked evilly as she jumped on him. Even though she was covered in paint and was soaking wet Harry caught her like he always did which caused him to be covered in paint and water as well. They laughed together before Kaylani pulled her face towards him and kissed him quickly before rubbing the paint onto his cheek.

"Aw would you look at that. Now you're a cute Smurf couple!" Kaylani laughed at Jake's remark before sharing an evil look with Harry. He let go of her and together they ran to their group of friends and squished them all into a hug leaving them all covered in paint and water.

"My hair! Man, why can't any of us ever act our age?!"

The group of friends, and all of the fans who were watching, laughed until their stomachs hurt as they realized how ridiculous everyone looked and how true Alanis' statement was. Ryan even had a smile on his face and his eyes gave away that he was genuinely happy.

Looking around Kaylani noticed that as crazy and dysfunctional her friends may be, they were her family. Between them, the supportive fans, and the fact that her and Ryan were back on track to being good friends again she realized that she was the happiest she had ever been in her life and it was all thanks to the people surrounding her at this very moment.
