Wonderwall

Gray felt like the wind had been knocked out of her body. Their little secret was just told to the entire world by none other then her idiot fiance. She didn't know whether to hit things, cry, or pass out.Gray gripped Perrie's arm tighter as she led her quickly out of the studio and back to the dressing room. She felt to the couch sobbing and convulsing, not feeling like she could breathe. The sight in her eyes left, all she could feel was Perrie guided her body into the dressing room and onto the couch. Gray sobbed more, wondering where everything went wrong and why he did what he did. They talked about this before, no more secrets yet he couldn't stick to his own rules. Gray's body shook the more and more she thought about it.
"Gray! Gray you have to calm down you are going to make yourself sick," Perrie pleaded as she knelt in front of her. Gray heard her talking but there was no way she could stop at this point.

"Why.. why did he do that," Gray sobbed. She wiped the tears from her eyes, but they came coming twice as hard.

"I'm not sure love, I can't even make excuses from him right now." Perrie wrapped her up in her arms, letting Gray cry into her shoulder. Perrie tried to soothe her by rubbing her back and it seemed to work. Gray's sobs turned into calmer whimpers. She pulled away and wiped her eyes.

"Perrie, you have to keep him away from me, I swear to God. I literally want to strangle him right now, how dare he do this to me," Gray yelled. Her sadness was turning into anger at this point. He was the complete douche bag who let the cat out of the bag.

"Gray, don't do anything stupid." Gray rolled her eyes and waved her off. Right now she was seeing red, and red meant someone needed to know that they were a complete idiot. How could Liam forget it wasn't sure about them now. They had a little baby who couldn't protect themselves, it was their jobs as parents. That was her baby she had to o whatever she needed to protect it. Gray was still pacing the room when the boys came walking in. Liam locked eyes with her right away and started heading straight for her.

"NO. Do NOT come near me Liam," she yelled at him. The tone in her voice forced everyone to stop. Liam tried to take another step but Gray pushed her hand in front of him.

"I'm serious Liam, I really want nothing to do with you right now. How dare you this to me and the rest of us! What in the hell were you thinking! I cannot believe you right now Liam," Gray yelled to him, feeling herself getting angry again. Everyone else sensed it too, Louis stepped in front of her making a curtain of protection.

"Love, let me explain," Liam started before Gray cut him off again.

"No, let me explain. I'll make this crystal clear for you. Do not come near me, at all until the feelings of beating you to a pulp go away. Trust me, if we weren't here right now, you'd know how I really feel.I cannot believe you, apparently you have no respect for me, I get it. So I suggest you back far far away from me right now," Gray warned. Her hands were balled up in tight fists while his eyes glared into hers. Nobody moved in the room, not sure of what to do. They had seen Gray mad before, but this took the cake. She literally looked like she was going to rip Liam's head off at any second. It was a heated room in the middle of the largest morning show there was. It was the only thing that was holding Gray together. She knew she couldn't make a scene and tarnish their name. Liam took another step towards her, and Gray's hands quickly flew up.

"Let's talk about this when we get back to the hotel maybe," Harry said, trying to ease the tension. Liam ignored him, trying to walk to her again. Louis stepped beside him, grabbing his arm to try and get him to stop. He needed to listen to Gray for once.

"Mate, listen to her." Louis started until the unthinkable happened. Liam tried to get his hands off his arm but swinging his back, but instead his elbow ran straight into Louis' cheekbone. Gray couldn't believe that he just hit him, regardless if it was an accident or not.

"Are you fucking crazy," Gray yelled. She hurried over to them standing in the middle, blocking each of them from each other. Gray grabbed up to Louis' face, already seeing a faint purple blob forming. She glared at Liam, having a hard time believing he did that.

"It's time to go, now," Gray shouted. She charged out to the hallway, motioning to Steve. The rest stood in the room wondering where Gray got this new found sense of confidence going on.

"Can we go please?" Steve could tell something was going on immediately. He quickly nodded to her before heading out to get security ready and the car. Gray ran back into the room still feeling the tension going on. For a moment, she wondered if this was a dream. Never in her life, or even when she woke up that morning did she think this would be what was happening. This wasn't supposed to be going down, not like this. Gray turned to Liam, trying to still control herself.

"I suggest you stay ever far away from me and my baby until you can control yourself. The rest of you, let's go." Liam looked like someone just killed him. His eyes went from stone cold slits to big, huge puppy dog eyes. Gray refused to act on them. She needed time to figure this all out, and figure out why he was such a gigantic ass. Harry led the group with Gray wedged between Niall and Louis. Liam stayed in the back with a tight jaw. He wondered where he went wrong. The words slipped out, part of him wondered if he was in an outer body experience or not. Between the lack of sleep and the stress of everything he couldn't keep the secret in any longer. Now his fiance hated him and he injured his best mate. Life was beyond difficult at this very moment.
----

Gray got back to the hotel and immediately headed to her room. Part of her wondered if Liam was going to follow her back, but after twenty minutes he was nowhere to be found. Gray flopped on the bed after realizing he wasn't coming. The tears started again, only to piss her off more. There was no way she could go through this whole pregnancy crying, she would lose her mind before the happened. Gray grabbed her phone out of her purse to see five missed calls from her mom. She immediately called her back. Sometimes there was nothing better then some motherly advice.

"Hello."

"Mom," Gray sobbed to her, unable to control it.

"Oh Gray, it's okay," Gloria said, trying to soothe her.

"This is not okay Mom! He didn't even give me a warning. We are supposed to be a family and talk about these things."

"Yes, you are Gray, but you are all in a different situation then a normal family. Things work on a drop of a hat for him," Gloria beckoned. Gray groaned and rolled to the other side of the bed.

"I'm so sick of hearing about being normal I could knock myself out. I don't care if he is the King of Mars, he needs to talk to me about these things when it to my child."

"My? Really Gray, are you becoming that dense. It's not just your child," Gloria huffed. Gray pulled the phone back to look, just to make sure she didn't have voices in her head too.

"I know that." her voice went down an octave, fully knowing her mom was about to chew her out.
"I don't think you are acting like the girl I raised. Have you even thought about Liam feels. Sure you are the one experiencing it all, but he is still the father. Think about him Gray, not just yourself." Gray threw her arm over her face. Her mom had a point, but this was not how she thought the conversation would go.

"I take it your silence says a lot. I'm going to let go so you can think things through. Grow up Gray, be the twenty six year old you are." Gloria hung up without saying a goodbye. Gray was even more confused then before. What was she supposed to do? Right how she needed a nap and to forget about thinking at all.

----

"I'm coming, I'm coming." A knock at the door woke Gray up and out of her sleep. She hurried over to see Perrie waiting outside for her.

"You ready," she asked. Gray looked at her funny.

"Hello love. We need to head to the arena." Gray had already slept three hours away like it was nothing.

"I'm staying here," Gray told her. Perrie immediately gave her a dirty look.

"No, no that's not it. I'm not playing the bitch card. I think I need to stay here and give the boys something else to think about. I'm in the way Perrie, they all need to clear their heads," Gray tried to reason with her. Perrie walked in breezing past and sat on the bed. Gray let the door shut by itself while she joined her.

"I get what you are saying love, I do but how do you think Liam is going to handle that?" Gray looked down at her hands, she wondered how he was doing.

"How is he," Gray whispered.

"Better. Him and Louis are already buddy buddy again, of course. Things happen and they get over it. As for you, he is quite gutted about it. Feels like a complete ass right now," she explained.

"What was his excuse?"

"I never asked. That's for you two to figure out. I'm not getting involved." Gray nodded, Perrie had a point, it wasn't her issue to fix.

"Are you sure you want to stay here?"

"Yes. They need to rock this last show here without worrying about my pregnant ass. I'm staying here with a good amount of room service and relaxing. Tell them all to not worry, especially Liam that I'm not mad or upset. I just want a good night for them," Gray reasoned with her. Perrie rolled her eyes while she stood up.

"They aren't going to like this, but whatever you say Gray."

"Thank you," Gray smiled, "when do you leave tomorrow?"

"One in the afternoon. See you at breakfast, yeah?" Gray shook her head and waved goodbye to Perrie. Right now, it was time to pig out and watch some boring cable tv. She stretched and picked up the phone.

"Hi Room Service? Yes I need to make an order of buffalo wings, piece of cheesecake and a plate of french fries."

----

She woke up the next morning feeling sad. Gray thought there was a slim chance Liam would come back to their room last night to sleep, but he didn't. It shouldn't of surprised her, after all she said possibly every mean thing she could think of yesterday. It was already giving her a headache, she had to figure this out at some point. They left for San Diego later this afternoon and a plane ride for that long was horrible enough. She got her butt out of bed and got ready for the day. Now that the secret was out, there was no sense in hiding her bump. Gray threw on a tight yellow shirt with jeans and headed down to join the rest for breakfast.

"Whoa belly," Niall laughed as she walked in. It would be fourteen weeks in a couple of days. Her stomach wasn't that big, but after hiding it for weeks it was a shock to them all. Gray smiled and sat in the only seat left next to Harry. The group stayed quiet, not sure on who should make the first move.

"How was your concert," Gray asked, breaking the tension.

"Harry about fell off the stage and Louis forgot the words, again." Zayn laughed throwing his napkin at Louis.

"And I missed that, shucks! Guess my butt will be checking Youtube later," she teased. Gray ordered some oatmeal and fruit, her new latest breakfast obsession. For some reason, cantalope in oatmeal was complete joy in her mouth.

"Are you all ready to go," Liam quietly asked her from across the table. She could feel everyone's eyes on her.

"I am, all packed up last night," Gray smiled. She didn't want anything else to go down. Those boys had a lot of tour left before they could go home. The less stress Gray created from them all the better. Liam said nothing more to her and turned his eyes on the rest of his pancakes.

"Okay, I need to get my things and head out kids." Perrie announced, standing from the table. Gray immediately felt sad, her bestie was leaving her to the wolves again. Hopefully she could find a way to turn her energy to something else after Perrie left.

"Love, stay strong," Perrie whispered when she hugged Gray. The tears were already prickling in her eyes.

"I'll try."

"That's an order. Talk to him, work it out. Little Rebecca needs her parents happy." Gray laughed pulling away and wiping her eyes. Perrie gave her one more wink before leaving hand and hand with Zayn.

"Well kids, time to go become California groupies," Niall announced. The rest left the table leaving Gray alone with her oatmeal. She saw Liam look at her one more time from the doorway. She waved him off, a silent way of telling him she was okay. Eating in a quiet room felt nice, it was helping her work out her thoughts. Once she got in San Diego, she knew she had to talk it out with him, but first check in with Louis the bruised.

----

The crowd at the airport was insane. Somewhat terrifying in a way. Gray was ready though, by now moving fast and looking down was her way of life. The boys got out first, leaving her and Liam at the end. He jumped out waiting for her to come out of the van safely. Gray didn't grab his hand, but her body stayed as close as she could to him. Whether Liam was an ass or not, she still loved him with everything she had. He was her life after all. They went through quickly, getting past the TSA counter and at the terminal before boarding the plane. Gray sat on the end seat, feeling much more comfortable against the plane then the aisle. She flew plenty of times, but having a baby with her now made her uneasy. Anything could happen in a metal bird in the sky. Liam sat next to her, and she could feel the nervousness coming from his body.

"I'm still plenty mad at you, but right now I am freaking out inside about this plane ride so keep me calm, okay," she begged, looking up at him. Liam felt a smile come over his face looking at her. She really was scared. He grabbed her hand, locking their fingers tight. Gray gripped on to his arm like nothing else mattered. He was going to keep her safe, she knew it. Gray rested her head on his shoulder while the plane went up up and away.

She woke up later feeling disorientated. It took her a moment to realize she was still on the plane next to Liam while they headed to San Diego. She lifted her head off his shoulder to see Liam paging through a Rolling Stone magazine next to her. Gray gave him a small smile while she stretched the best as she could in the small space.

"Before you say anything, I need to tell you that I am sorry and very very stupid," he ducked down and whispered to her. Gray looked around to see that the rest of the plane was off in their own little world.

"Why did you do it? Why didn't you at least give me a warning," she asked, matching his tone.

"I'm not sure love, I wish I had a better answer but it just fell out." Gray looked at him with a blank expression. She wasn't buying it. There is no way something that big would just literally fall out. He had to try a little better then that.

"Really? Just fell out? Because you had nothing else at all to talk about to Matt Lauer," she snorted, her voice getting louder. Liam uncomfortably cleared his throat.

"Perhaps we should talk about this later," he whispered. Gray rolled her eyes.

"Perhaps you should grow a pair and own up to your mistake better." They stared each other down before Gray broke away and turned to the in flight magazine wishing she could change seats right now. She just wished he would own up to it or at least explain his thinking. Right now, all she could do was count down the minutes until they were off this plane and get some fresh air.

----

For a pregnant girl, Gray could move. Once the plane landed and the plane gave the OK to move, Gray jumped to it. She quickly flew over Liam's lap and followed the rest out of the terminal and to the van. Now, she was at the hotel in the empty room again. Liam's bags were here but she didn't see him since the van. Gray knew he was more then likely in Niall or Louis' room. What a coward.

"Gray, open up." She heard Louis yell from the other side of the door. She opened to see him standing there with a bag of chips.

"Girl time," he cheered, marching himself into her room and making himself comfy on her bed. Gray walked over examining his face.

"Looks better then before," she murmured.

"Please, just a bruise I've gotten worse on a tour before, this is nothing," Louis waved her off, cracking open the chips.

"Still feel like crap about it."

"Oh Gray, stop beating yourself up. You didn't swing your arm, he did. We made up already so stop fretting. You, we are talking about you now. How's eggo?" Gray rolled her eyes on that damn nickname.

"Eggo is fine." Her hand rubbed her belly smiling.

"Check. Now's how Gray Goose?" He asked, throwing another chip in his mouth.

"She is fine too."

"Lie." He yelled as soon as she said it.

"I'm here, I'm alive. I'm confused," Gray spat out.

"Dr. Louis is here to help Gray. I assume this is about our friend Liam?" Gray nodded yes.

"Aah, I'm so good. Let me guess, you are confused about what happened and how to fix it." Gray nodded again, not exactly excited to be having this conversation with him. Gray was being a pain in the butt, she could feel it.

"Gray, I think I have told you this before but you need to stop beating yourself up so much. You are not in trouble here, Liam is. He is the one who opened up his big mouth without speaking to you first. I understand why you got mad, I do so please don't think you did something wrong," Louis told her, taking a serious tone in their conversation.

"I just feel like I am in the way here," Gray told her, staring at her hands.

"You are only in the way if you make yourself. Perhaps we need to find you a hobby, like knitting or crossword puzzles," he smiled at her.

"I feel like the wrong side of the tracks trophy wife. Eleanor has another life and Perrie is a star too. I'm just Gray, the chick who follows One Direction around like a puppy." Louis snorted and threw a chip at her.

"You need to get over this shit real fast Gray. You are a good person, stop acting like you are a hooker or something. Fairly I'm sick of it. If any of the lads had an issue with you here you know we wouldn't have an issue voicing our opinion. We want you here Gray. Get that through your head. We would like you to make up with Liam though, that would be nice."

"Did the guys send you in here as the official spokesperson," she asked.

"I volunteered, figured I was the one with the most brains." Gray laughed.

"Why did you think he told Louis, am I missing something?"

"I think Liam has a lot on his plate right now Gray, it's hard to keep things straight especially that early in the morning, he's not the same guy were knew a year ago," he explained.

" Like how?"

"He is missing his freedom." Gray moved back from him, making sure she heard right.

"Hear me out before you go crazy on me too. I didn't mean it in a bad way. Before you in the Pre-Gram stages he only had to worry about the band and himself. It was less to think about. Now with you and Eggo coming, it's more for him to take on. He loves you, and he loves the baby with everything he has, but it takes so much more to keep everything kosher and safe. Liam is constantly checking with Steve on security, trying to keep the peace on Twitter, making sure you could have everything you possibly need. It's exhausting just for me to watch him. I know he hides plenty of it from you, but he really does always make sure you are the number one in his life." Gray put her face in her hands. It felt like Groundhog's Day. She had told Liam way too many times to count that he needed to be open with her and stop worrying about life so much.

"He is going to kill himself with all of this," Gray moaned. Louis gave her a welcoming pat on the leg.

"More the likely he will be the first one to go," Louis laughed.

"Lou, you have to loosen him out. Please. Take him to a bar, strip club, anything at this point," Gray begged. It was true, Liam needed a boys night, just like he did before she came along.

"You want me to take your fiance, the father of your baby, to a strip club?" He asked, making sure he heard right.

"God yes, anything at this point. It's clear he needs to have some fun without me being around." Gray would of slowed down the group anyway. Her body was accustomed to sleep before midnight struck.

"You really want me to get him good and drunk?"

"Anything you want,as long as he doesn't puke on me. Honestly Louis, anything goes at this point. I just want him to have fun," she told him again, making sure he goes it. Liam deserved some fun for once.

"Got it. I'll check with the boys and we will hit the town tonight," Louis smiled deviously. With her blessing, he planned on doing a number on poor Liam. Gray was right, he needed to let loose.

----

Gray stirred, hearing her phone right on the nightstand. She opened her eyes to see it already three in the morning. Gray grabbed her phone making a poor attempt on answering it.

"Yeah," she yawned.

"Gray? It's Louis. Is Liam with you?" She sat up in bed looking around. The whole room was empty, even the spare bed there.

"No,why?" She asked, suddenly feeling alarmed.

"We somehow lose him between stops." Gray groaned. How do you lose an almost six foot tall celebrity?

"Let me get dressed and start searching." Gray flew to her suitcase, throwing on some sweats and headed towards the door. She stopped, seeing the bathroom door shut. Gray was the last one there, and clearly remembered leaving it open.

"Hold on Louis." Gray softly opened the door and found Liam's sleeping frame in the empty bathroom. He was fully clothed, quickly snoring as his head leaned against the soap dish.

"Call off the cavalry, I found him Louis," Gray whispered.

"Oh thank God, letting you go then. Bye Gray!" Louis hung up before she even had a chance to respond. She didn't mind them going out, but cleaning up the drunk boy wasn't her idea of a night. She needed much more sleep for this. Gray sighed again and sat on the side of the tub. For an unconscious drunk boy, he still was completely beautiful to her. She rubbed her fingers over his face making him stir.

"I couldn't find you," his horse voice whispered. Gray fought the urge to roll her eyes, she needed to be nice to the drunken boy.

"I was in bed sleeping," she softly told him.

"I thought you would hit me, so I laid here." Liam snuggled into a shampoo bottle ready to fall asleep.

"Hey hey stay with me," she yelled, snapping her fingers in his face.

"Can I sleep with you?" His puppy dog eyes stared up into her. How could she say no to him?

"Fine, but you need to get your butt out of the tub." Liam groaned and tried to get up twice before his shaky legs could hold his weight.

"Steady jailbait," she warned. Liam got both legs out of the tub somehow without falling. Gray tucked herself under his arm, helping his swaying body out into the main room.

"You smell. How much did you drink," she asked. Everything on him smelled like a brewery.

"More then thirty six dollars worth." Liam gave her a hazy smile.Gray giggled at him, he was too cute not to.

"You remembered." Liam stopped, pulling her body into his.

"I remember everything about you," he whispered. His voice sent shivers down her spine. Damn him.

"Let's put you to bed." Gray undid his pants from her waist and helped him get off his shirt and pants. Liam fell into bed awkwardly letting Gray pull the covers over him.

"You aren't going to lay with me," he pouted to her. She sighed, and climbed on top of the covers next to him. Liam wrapped his arms around her body pulling Gray in close. She tried to protest, but Liam was practically already asleep above her.

"I'm sorry Gray, I'm going to make a horrible father," Liam whispered. Gray's eyes shot up to him. How could he think that?

"Liam no. You will make a great dad. You just made a mistake. A very stupid one that I wanted to kill you for, but it was a mistake," Gray said, trying to reason with him. Liam kept his eyes closed, unable to look at her.

"I shouldn't have said anything, I don't know what I was thinking," he sobbed. Tears fell out of his eyes, running down his temple and landing in her hair. Drunken cheeky Liam was turning into Hot Mess Liam fast.
"Liam stop. Let's talk about this in the morning, not now. I love you. Little One loves you, that's all that matters." Gray crawled up his body more, curling her head into the crook of his neck. She ran her fingers up and down his bare chest until his breathing went calmer and more evenly. Finally the giant was asleep. Gray on the other hand was more awake them ever. She knew it was time to make things right, and show him how perfect of a person he was, no matter what.
