Holdin' On
Your daddy better hurry up with my coffee if he knows what’s good for him,” Gray cooed to little sleeping Spencer. They were on their last day in the hospital, thankfully. Even though Gray loved the support she received, she was ready to break out of there and be in her own home. Hospital beds and hospital meals both sucked. Now with the initial shock worn off and after all the visitors left Gray was ready to try this mother thing on her own. She and Liam made a good time but he was leaving sometime tomorrow and she would be alone with Spencer again, it was them against the world.
“Sorry, I got recognized,” he grimaced walking into the room with a large cup of coffee. Gray could smell it from a mile away. The sweet sweet smell of delicious coffee. Liam handed it over and sat on the bed, careful to not bother the little one.
“Were you at least nice to them,” Gray laughed. She took a drink and sighed. It had been way too long.
“I tried, I’m sure someone will complain though.” Gray grabbed his hand and squeezed. She knew he was having a hard time with the thought of having to leave tomorrow. She gave him a smile letting him know it was okay.
“You take her, I’m going to go change into real clothes.” Gray hopped off the bed and went into bathroom. Gloria brought her a different set of clothes since the press found out about the birth, Gray didn’t want to be seen leaving home in just her pajama’s. It was weird to see her belly so small again, now she just literally looked fat instead of pregnant. Hopefully it wouldn’t take long to shrink again. She changed into the sweater and pregnancy jeans before heading back out. Liam had Spencer uncovered as he changed her clothes too.
“What did you bring for her,” Gray asked. Liam held up the One Direction onesie and pants. On the back was Spencer’s name and the number 00.
“My God, where did you get that,” Gray groaned. Her poor child.
“The boys before I left. I promised them pictures of her in it,” he explained. It was beautiful for Gray to watch. Liam worked smoothly yet carefully while getting little Spencer dressed. She stirred and looked like she was about to cry but Liam moved fast enough and picked her up before it happened. He cuddled her into his shoulder and rested back in the bed. Gray snapped a photo on her phone before he had a chance to realize it.
“Are you always going to take pictures of her,” he asked.
“OF course, I’m the Mom, duh.” Dr. Whalen walked into the room with the papers she had been waiting for.
“Time to go home,” he cheered. Gray breathed a sigh of relief, finally it was time to break loose.
“Here is everything you need, if you have any issues or problems do not hesitate to call me Gray, I mean it. Otherwise you take care of that little girl and love her to deal.” Gray gave him a hug and started tearing up again.
“Don’t cry dear, you’ll be fine.”
“I just wanted to thank you,” Gray whispered, she was having a hard time controlling her emotions right now.
“Well you are quite welcome. You two go have fun with her. I’ll send the nurse in when you are ready.” Dr. Whalen left leaving just the three of them alone. Liam moved Spencer over to her carseat putting her in gently and buckling her up.
“You ready love,” he asked. Gray looked around the room once more taking it all in. This was it, time for her to rock being a mommy alone.
“You bet.”
----
“Slow, slow,” he dictated behind her. After having to dodge an enormous amount of people and press they made it home safely. Now they were headed downstairs to Gray’s little space with Spencer in tow.
“Be careful love,” Liam warned. He was in front of her while Gray carried the carseat. She rolled her eyes at him.
“Babe, these seats are made to with handle a car accident, I don’t think knocking into the wall of a house is going to hurt her,” she joked. She breezed past him and set the carrier on the floor. Gray got Spencer out and laid her sleeping body on the couch. Both of them stood around in the awkward silence.
“Well, what do we do now,” Liam sheepishly asked from the side. Gray laughed at him.
“You get to babysit, I need to shower.” Whoever installed those showers in the hospital were on crack. She felt like the dirt and slime from the past days were still covered on her body. Gray gave Liam a kiss on the cheek and headed for the bathroom before he caught her again. Liam pulled her into his arms, swirling her around so much it made her heart race. She looked up at him feeling her face blush. Liam smiled down at her while running his hands over the lower part of her back.
“Don’t forget that I love you,” he whispered to her. His head tipped down brushing his lips against hers. Gray’s head went dizzy. Even through it all, they still loved each other.
“Love you too jailbait.” She kissed him one more time before walking off into the bathroom. Her face was still bright pink and her skin flushed. Damn him and his ways. Gray stripped off her clothes and jumped into the steaming hot water. It felt amazing, just to feel clean and fresh again. She washed her body and her hair before getting out and covering up. Gray threw up her hair, taking her sweet time in the warm bathroom before putting on her clothes. It felt weird, very weird. She didn’t have her belly anymore, her child was here and yet she was still completely calm. Definitely not the way she thought it would go. Gray prepared herself to be the anal mother who constantly had to be next to her child. Instead she was calm, cool and collected.
Gray walked out of the steamy bathroom to hear silence. Part of her expected to hear at least one of them crying or cursing. She tip toed down the hall to see Liam and Spencer cuddled on the couch. They were in their typical position of her curled up on his chest. Gray smiled, tears hitting her eyes, and covered them up with a blanket. She headed quietly upstairs to work on something other than sleeping.
“Gray, good to see you.” Her mom said hugging her. Gray was surprised; typically her mom wasn’t home for another hour or two from work.
“Hey, what are you doing here,” she asked.
“I left early, figured you may need help or food or something that us grandma’s do,” she smiled. Gray looked over to see a sink full of dishes and some random pots cooking on the stove.
“You cook, I’ll wash.” She headed over, putting her hands in the soapy water and went to work.
“Where is the other two,” Gloria asked.
“Sleeping.” She shrugged her shoulders; it was what they did best.
“I should have known that answer. Why aren’t you sleeping? You know that’s what they tell you to do,” Gloria responded. She had a point, Gray was extremely tired and very sore but she didn’t want to sleep the day away just yet. Liam would holler if anything happened and she could catch up on some Zzz’s later.
“I’m antsy and wired. Besides there is no room for me on that couch.” She did think about sleeping in the bed, but that was just too weird. Without Liam or Spencer it would be far too empty.
“When does he leave,” Gloria asked quietly. It was always the mood killer, even after all this time.
“Tomorrow morning.” She kept her back towards her mom not wanting to see the tears in her eyes.
“You going to be okay with him,” Gloria said. At this point Gray just wished she would stay quiet and cook.
“I have no other choice.” It was simple as that.
“The girls and I are always here for you,” Gloria told her, giving her a pat on the back. Gray nodded but didn’t say anything else. She wanted to keep her emotions in check right now, Gray had to be strong. She went back to doing the dishes in quiet; Gray needed anything to keep this all off her mind.
----
Liam shook Gray out of her deep sleep trying to get her attention. Gray stirred for a moment trying to figure out what was going on. She looked over to the clock seeing it was just a little past one in the morning. Ugh.
“Love, she is awake,” Liam whispered. Gray sat up and yawned. People who said no get no sleep with kids weren’t joking. It was the fifth time Spencer had woken up since they put her to bed at eight that night.
“You get the bottle I’ll change the pants,” she mumbled to him. Liam headed off upstairs to warm it up while Gray went into Spencer’s room. The little baby laid there whimpering and crying in her crib wanting for some to show her love.
“Hey sweet girl, you are fine, shh don’t worry,” Gray cooed to her. Spencer immediately calmed down once Gray picked her up. She quickly changed her diaper while Liam walked in with the bottle.
“I’ll do it,” he whispered grabbing Spencer out of her arms. Gray tried to object but stopped. He had less then twelve hours with them, she needed to give him every moment he had. Liam sat down in the rocking chair while Gray watched from the doorway.
“Go to sleep, we got this,” he smiled at her. She walked out of the room stopping just around the corner. It felt wrong to eavesdrop but she wanted to. Checking the moments between those two were priceless. She heard Liam start to talk on the other side.
“Alright Spence, I’m going to fill you in a secret. Your mommy and I have a song but I think I’m going to share it with you too, that sound okay?” The room stayed quiet while be began the lyrics of “Us against the World”. Gray smiled from the other side, it took all her might not to go in there and enjoy it with him. She wiped the tears from her eyes and hurried back to bed.
Gray felt the bed move later when Liam climbed in forty five minutes later. She turned over and looked at him.
“Everything okay?”
“Back to sleep easily. We have a good baby,” he told her wrapping his arms around her waist. Gray snuggled into his stomach and closed her eyes.
“We make a good team,” she yawned. Liam locked their fingers together and kissed her shoulder.
“Haven’t been this close to you in a while,” he murmured in her hair. It was nice not having a huge belly getting in the way of being with each other. They were suctioned together in there enjoying the moment.
“Kinda nice isn’t it teammate?” Gray yawned again barely able to keep her eyes open at this point. Her body needed the sleep.
“Team Gramer. Get it? G-R-A-M-E-R,” he told her making Gray snort very loudly.
“You are sleep deprived, that’s not even how you spell grammar,” she laughed.
“Well love, considering we aren’t normal I think it works out well. Team Gramer.” She felt the bed move next to her. Gray rolled her eyes.
“Jailbait I know you are tweeting right now. Put your damn phone away and go to sleep!” Gray yawned again and stretched out in his absence. Tweet or not to tweet, either way she was going to sleep without him. Liam quickly clicked out his message and put his phone down.
@Real_Liam_Payne: Team Gramer forever
He looked over to see Gray already fast asleep. His beautiful girl who he had to leave so soon. It killed him inside like usual. This never got any easier like he wished it would. There had to be a day where they could actually be together without planning plane rides, skype calls and wondering what time zone their love is. They boys’ tour ended soon but that was just be the tip of the iceberg. Before all this happened, with Spencer coming, they planned to put out one last album before taking a break. Now though he wondered if it was worth it. That would mean another tour, more time in the studio instead of being here with his girls. He hadn’t told Gray yet though. A very stupid idea but he wanted to make sure everything was in a row before that happened. He had time, time always seem to work on his side. Liam cuddled back into her body and closed his eyes. Right now, it was time for sleep.
----
“What do you think Spencer, pink or yellow today? What color suits you?” Gray asked the sleeping baby in the crib next to her. She woke up wide and refreshed at ten to six this morning, much earlier than usual. It worked to her favor though, Spencer was up ten minutes later leaving Gray with a mess to clean up.
“I saw pink, very girly. You’re father is lucky he got out of this one,” Gray laughed quickly changing her little girls outfit into a pink and white striped sleeper. Her daughter had to have Gray’s favorite type of clothes too, every girl loves pajamas. She picked up her sleeping body and headed upstairs.
“I say we make breakfast for the clan, how good are you at flipping pancakes,” she asked the sleeping Spencer again. The baby moved in her arms but still stayed asleep. Gray put her in the bouncer she had set up in the living room and carried her into the kitchen. Poor Spencer looked so small in it for a newborn. She could have been swallowed up by the blankets and Gray wouldn’t even have noticed. She quietly set the baby down and got to work on breakfast. Everything sounded amazing to her, but she stuck with pancakes, muffins, eggs and bacon. The typical Cameron/Payne/Russell breakfast of choice. Her mom came down just as she was finishing the first set of pancakes.
“My god you are up early.” She was surprised to see Gray even functioning at this point.
“It’s almost seven, that’s not bad,” Gray commented.
“Not bad for a normal person, but you just pushed out a child days ago. I expected you to be sleeping at this point, a lot of sleeping.” Gray shrugged, her body wanted to get up so she got up.
“I’ll deal with that later, pancakes?” Gray held out the pan for her to see.
“Duh. Hit me up.” She platted enough for both her and Gloria and sat down at the table. Sleeping Spencer was positioned between them.
“How’d it go last night? I didn’t hear you guys once,” Gloria mentioned.
“Up a lot. I think six times total I lost count after one in the morning,” Gray explained. Her mom looked at her with wide eyes.
“Why in the freak are you awake right now? Honestly, that is an idiot move.” No way in any world should she be awake right now.
“I know, I’ll deal with it later. He actually has to get up soon anyways.” Gray stood from the table and threw her dishes in the sink.
“Spence, you and me have a nap date later remember that. Mom, you okay with her while I get him up,” she asked. Gloria nodded and waved her off.
“She needs her grandma, time to start teaching her everything I know.” Gray rolled her eyes and opened the door to the basement. It was still completely dark, other than the light from the windows shining through. She walked into the bedroom to see Liam still in the exact place he was when she woke up. Gray laid down on the bed crawling up to him.
“Jailbait, oh Jailbait,” she whispered into his ear, tickling his chest with her fingers. He stirred below her touch but his eyes didn’t open.
“Liam, come on babe.” Gray let gentle kisses caress his cheeks trying to get him to stir. His eyes still stayed shut again. She sighed, it was time for drastic measures. She climbed on his hips, moving slowly not to hurt her aching body and tickled his sides.
“Wake up boy,” she yelled. His eyes popped open, looking huge up at her.
“What in the hell,” he moaned. Gray laughed, happy her efforts succeed. Liam had a cheeky glaze come over his face. He quickly grabbed her body, flipping them both over so he was almost on top. Gray barely had time to react.
“Whoa, careful there.” The weight of his body was crushing her stomach, it hurt like a biotch. A look of fear came over his face and he quickly got off of her.
“Sorry,” Liam blushed. Gray grabbed his arm and pulled him down next to her.
“I’ll live.” She cuddled up in his arms enjoying the embrace. Liam’s fingers ran through her hair and down the side of her face. He studied her intently trying to read her vibe. Everything changed after he left today. It wasn’t just them anymore, they had another person to worry about. He feared this would be the last time he would see both his girls for a while.
“Don’t be sad Liam. We will see you next month for Thanksgiving,” Gray whispered to him. He closed his eyes forcefully knowing he had to tell her the truth.
“Love, I’m not sure that will work.” The words barely came out of his mouth; it was the hardest thing he ever had to tell her. Gray moved away from him quickly.
“What do you mean you aren’t sure?” She asked, the tone in her voice immediately changing. This was not the time to be bringing up this kind of news, he was leaving in less than an hour.
“Things are up in the air right now. We are being forced to start our fourth album and may need to go back to London then. I’m trying Gray, but I cannot guarantee that I can come back,” he explained. Gray rolled her eyes viciously at him.
“Let me guess, you have known this for a while now and just felt the need to tell me now? When you are leaving so soon?” He looked away from her fully knowing he was caught. Gray scrambled out of bed and stared him down.
“Liam you cannot do this shit. It’s not fair to me or her. So what, if you cannot come back when is the next time I can see you? My birthday? Christmas? Tell me when,” she ordered at him. Liam still looked away not saying anything.
“Fuck Liam, you aren’t even going to see your daughter until after the New Year? Forget me right now, you are already good at that but try to think of her, she needs you,” Gray cried out. Angry tears started to fall out of her eyes. He moved out of bed and pulled her body into his arms. Gray wanted to hit him so bad, hoping to knock some sense into him but she couldn’t. Being tired and emotional got the best of her. Instead she cried into his shirt while he hung on tightly.
“I don’t yet love, I’m still going to do everything I can to be here next month, I promise,” Liam vowed into her hair. He wanted her to realize he was going to try with everything he had, but there was a part of him that knew it may not happen.
“Liam, I swear to God if you don’t make it back here by New Year’s I may not forgive you.” She glared up into his eyes with passion. Gray wasn’t lying right now.
“You can always come visit too, I’m sure my mum would enjoy you,” he suggested. Gray knew he had a point, she needed to go halfway with him there.
“I’ll think about it. Get your stuff together and come up, I made breakfast.” She broke from their embrace feeling cold about the whole situation. Gray knew she was sounding like a complete bitch but right now he deserved it. She walked out of the room quickly before he had a chance to do anything else and headed upstairs. Gray walked up shaking off the bad vibes and threw a fake smile on her face. She needed to pretend to be happy even if she still wanted to kill him. The less her mom knew the better at this point.
----
“Alright son in law, you have a safe trip,” Gloria told him hugging his body. Curtis was waiting outside to bring them to the airport and back to Canada. Liam had his small bag sitting by the door as he made his goodbyes. He hugged Gloria once more before doing the same to Grace and Gillian and walked over to where Gray stood with Spencer.
“Come on girls, let’s give them some space.” Gloria ushered them out leaving just the two in the foyer. Gray still didn’t know how to feel. Right now she was upset and afraid to take this all on by herself. She kept Spencer in front of her, hoping to create a barrier from him. She could never keep a clear head when he was that close to her. Liam grabbed the sleeping baby out of her arms.
“Alright my little love, you be good to your mum. No hissy fits, no sicknesses and no boys. Remember that your Dad loves you very much and I will see you again so soon,” he whispered. Liam bent his head down giving her a long but light kiss on the top of her head. His eyes turned back to Gray.
“I love you Gray, remember that. As soon as I figure everything out I will let you know. Call me for anything, okay? Please don’t hide from me.” Gray continued to look down knowing she couldn’t control her emotions right now. Liam used his free arm to pull her body into his.
“You can do this Gray, I promise I will do everything to be with you two,” he whispered. Gray threw her arm around his waist trying to remember those last moments together.
“I love you Liam,” she choked, tears gliding down her face. Liam used his hand to tip her face up to his, giving her another passionate kiss. He broke away, giving Spencer back to Gray and grabbing his bag.
“I love my girls, always.” Tears slid down his face too as he looked at them one last time. Liam went to open the front door only to have Gray run up behind him.
“Please don’t go Liam, please don’t.” She sobbed, holding onto his back with her free arm. Spencer was smashed into between them. Liam flipped around pulling Gray’s body into his.
“I’m so sorry love, I’m so sorry.” He kept repeating the words while rubbing her back hoping it would ease the pain some, but it didn’t work. Gray was full on sobbing at this point, unable to control herself. Her hands gripped his body, practically puncturing his skin hoping that it would make him stay with her. Liam buried his face in her hair trying to control his own emotions. This was the hardest thing he ever did in his life. His career was making him choose of his family and he had to go with it. Life was unfair. Spencer started to fuss in between them making Gray step away. She didn’t even try to wipe her face off, there was no point right now. More tears would come just as fast.
“I’ll see you two again.” He kissed Spencer’s head once more before doing the same to Gray. Liam grabbed his bag and opened the door, looking back at his girls once last time. Gray watched as he walked down the front steps and into the awaiting SUV. They drove off with her still standing in the doorway holding Spencer tight. She started to sob again as they rounded the corner and out of her vision.
“I guess it’s just you and me now Spence,” Gray cried down to the sleeping bundle in her arms. She went inside, shutting the door and made her way into the living room. Gloria was already there, her arms waiting. Gray fell into them and sobbed. Nothing could take away the pain she felt right now, nothing at all.
Liam sat in the car having a hard enough time controlling his own emotions at this point. That was the first time ever since they had been together that Gray completely broke down. Usually she would cry, but at the same time be able to smile through it all and advise him that they would see each other again. Not this time. It broke him deep down inside seeing her get so emotional and look so weak. There was nothing he could do either at this point. Life called for him to be back in Canada with the rest.
“I’m guessing it doesn’t get any easier,” Curtis asked him quietly from the front of the car. Liam shook his head no, unable to speak.
“I’m sorry man, I wish I could do more for you.” Liam looked back up at him through the mirror with a tear stained face.
“Sure you can’t put us in a car accident right now?” Part of him was joking while the other half was willing to face a broken ankle just to spend more time with them.
“God no. Keep your head high Liam, it will get easier.” Liam kept his mouth shut, Paul had no clue. His child wouldn’t show up for a while longer, he didn’t know the pain of having to leave him yet. It ripped Liam from the soul. His daughter wouldn’t be that cute little newborn the next time he saw her. He would miss it all just because of his celebrity status. Right now he would do anything to go back in time and be the unknown boy from Wolverhampton again.
----
Gray made it through the week, somehow. It was a rough battle that included a lot of swearing, crying and three bottles of wine with Mila but she got through it. Liam called every day no matter what the hour it was for him just to check up her. It was nice and comforting but it just wasn’t the same, she wished he was here. Especially today since it was Spencer’s first doctor appointment. Gray had her all dressed and made their way upstairs to see her Mom still home.
“What are you doing here? It’s Tuesday,” Gray asked.
“Figured you needed a partner in crime today so I took it off. Head to Spencer’s appointment and maybe some retail therapy.” Gray smiled back at her, that was already her plan for the day. Gloria knew her way too well.
“Consider it a date.” They headed out into Gloria’s car, making sure Spencer was tucked in well before taking off.
“You supposed to call Liam after this,” Gloria asked. Gray shook her head, she wished she could.
“He is in interviews all day, said he would call me when he could,” she explained.
“I see.” Gray could hear the strained voice of her mother knowing she was thinking bad things.
“Spit it out mom,” Gray groaned.
“I just don’t get him. It has nothing to do with you Gray, you are taking this far too well then you should be. It’s all him. He should have fought harder to be here with you,” Gloria cried. Tears started to come down her own face. Gray was in somewhat of a state of shock seeing her mom get like this.
“I know Mom but he didn’t have many options,” Gray explained.
“That’s bullshit. He could of tried harder and you know it. It would be different if it was just you, but that is his child back there. He needs to be here for her.” Gray sighed and shook her head. She couldn’t think of anything else to say, her mom was completely right. Even Gray felt that way.
“I know Mom,” Gray said quietly. She looked out the window feeling so beyond indifferent.
“I won’t bring it up again Gray, but I just wanted to let you know I feel the same way about it that you do. You are an amazing Mom, remember that.” She gripped Gray’s hand from over the console and gave her a reassuring squeeze. Gray gave a smile back to her mom, but she knew. It was wrong on so many levels but Gray had to work with what she had. She had no choice but to be there for your daughter.
----
“Pretty sure she hates me right now,” Gray yelled over the screaming baby in the backseat. Her appointment went well, little Spencer already gained 4 ounces in bodyweight back from being out of the hospital. Right now though, she was pissed. The doctor had to do a needle prick in her heel and Spencer was having none of that. She cried all the way through the hospital and still in the car now.
“Nah, she is just mad and hungry, it’s a lethal combination. She will quiet once we get to the store,” Gloria explained. She pulled into the store’s parking lot and they headed in, still with Spencer screaming at the top of her lungs. Gray got her carseat situated in the cart and pulled out her little body. She quickly threw the bottle in her mouth quieting her. Gray breathed a sigh of relief. She didn’t want to be one of those moms who just lets their kid cry throughout the whole outing.
“I’m going to get grab some things, be back soon,” Gloria smiled walking off. Gray positioned Spencer in her arms better before slowly walking through the store looking at nothing.
“Oh Spence! You need a Halloween costume!” Gray squealed in delight. How could see miss that holiday? Spencer’s first holiday, this was an exciting event. She walked over the Halloween section flipping through costumes. Definitely something unique, that is for sure.
“What do you think Spence? Would you rather be a caterpillar or an octopus,” she asked the almost sleeping baby in her arms. Gray gently put her back in the carseat, buckling her in and went back to shopping. Her phone started going off in her bag, fully knowing it was Liam before looking at the screen.
“Hi baby,” she smiled.
“Love, what are you doing?” His voice sent shivers down her spine like always.
“Buying your kid a Halloween costume. We haven’t decided between a caterpillar or an octopus. I personally think the caterpillar is the winner.” Gray threw the costume into the cart and continued down the aisle. She kept the phone to her ear as she scanned the shelves.
“I found out when I can come back to the States.” It stopped Gary in the aisle. His voice was lower then normal, she knew this wouldn’t be good news.
“Tell me Liam,” she ordered. Gray heard him sigh over the line.
“January 25th.” Gray gripped on to the car praying it would hold her up. That was three months from now.
“What,” she breathed back.
“I know Gray, I’m so sorry. That’s the first time I actually have more then one day off at a time. Trust me, I am just as upset as you are.” She felt the blood starting to drain from her body while the tears started in her eyes.
“Fuck Liam, you cannot do this. You cannot go that long without seeing us. Why? Why do you do this to me? You always call me right in the worst times, usually when I am around people and give me the shittiest news. You are killing me.” Gray tried to keep her voice low and her face hidden so no one would see her in the aisle. The last thing she needed right now was a scene.
“I know Gray, I have been a pretty horrible father and fiancé lately,” He tried to talk but Gray cut him off.
“You think Liam? Damn it, this isn’t fair.” Gray put her head down, letting it rest on Spencer’s tiny little legs. She had to breathe otherwise Gray knew she would hyperventilate.
“I know Gray.” He didn’t know what else to say at this point, Liam knew she wouldn’t take the news well.
“I’m so mad right now Liam. I think I need to go.” She whispered. Her hands shook with anger.
“I understand that, but I wanted to let you know I think you should come out here for a while. Maybe before Christmas or right after. My family and I want to see you both.” Gray quickly thought about it in her head. Traveling that far with a two month old could be a very stupid idea.
“I don’t know Liam, let me think about this later when I don’t want to kill you, and trust me, I REALLY want to kill you right. I just can't believe you and your thinking. How could you act like this is okay? It's not Liam, no where near being okay. Good bye.” She hung up on the phone quickly shutting it off before he could call her back. She stayed in the random aisle of Halloween goodies trying to compose herself. Once again, it was Liam breaking her heart. He seemed to be so good at it by now. Always bearing down more and more bad news to her. Gray wondered if he even tried to put up a fight and tried to get here sooner. Did he really even care? How dare he ask her to go across seas with a newborn while he could just jump on a plane and only worry about herself? She took another deep breath trying to cool her jets and not freak out in the middle on the store. Fuck him, she though. Fuck him and his ideas. Right now it was just her and Spencer. The idea of visiting could wait until later when she could think straight. Gray stood up straight, rolling her shoulders and stretching out. Calm, she had to think calm.
“Spence, your daddy is butthead. Let’s go find grandma and buy more junk we don’t need.” She left the aisle pushing her daughter in the cart. All of the bad energy and thoughts stayed in that Halloween land. She needed to be positive and think less of Liam at this point. Her and Spencer against the world.
@Real_Liam_Payne: Team Gramer forever
