Nightingale

There was a light. A blinding white light. Gray wondered if she was in school again. Her tenth grade English teacher had lights like those. Bright and annoying, the ones that wake you out of a deep sleep during a Hitchcock film. That was Gray, waking up. Only this wasn't school. Her eyes blinked to show monitors and sensors all around her, while two paramedics were on each side of her.

"Coming in with a twenty six year old female, approximately twenty two weeks gestation. Possible dislocated shoulder, concussion. Bus to pickup truck accident. Six minutes out."

They grabbed at her body placing cords, tubes and everything else around her. Gray's eyes darted between the two of them trying to figure out what was going on. The last thing she remembered was going to the bathroom on the bus. Now she was here, with random strangers. Panic began to build in her body.

"Gray, my name is David. Do you know happened," the paramedic to the left of her spoke.

"Where's Liam," her voice cracked. She needed Liam. If she was in an ambulance she knew he was freaking out somewhere else. Liam needed to be here, right now. Gray moved her arms, well one of them trying to sit up. Both of the paramedics lightly held her down in place only causing her to freak out more.

"You must calm down," the other man spoke to her. She didn't feel like listening right now, Gray demanded answers. She thrashed her body again, other to have them hold her down.

"Gray, listen to me. Everyone else is fine too. Everyone on that bus. So if Liam was there, he is okay. I promise," David tried to reason with her. She cooled her body down, willing to trust this complete stranger. He seemed to be real, Gray could see it in his eyes. The ride to the hospital felt short, soon they were pulling the stretcher off and bringing her into the entrance. Her whole body was surrounded by random nurses and doctors. She felt like she was in shock, unable to say anything. Gray just stared at them all hoping for answers. They wheeled her into a room where she could swap to a different bed.

"Gray, My name is Dr. Wheeler. Can you tell me your full name?" The younger doctor asked while the rest of the room worked busily around her. She tried to focus all her attention on him.

"Gray Lydia Cameron. You have orange hair." Her brain told her to be quiet but her lips didn't listen. It felt like she was drunk almost.

"Good work, least your eyes are working," he chuckled, "looks like you have a concussion and definitely a dislocated shoulder. Now we are going to have to set that again and it's going to hurt like extremely bad. Be prepared okay?" He signaled to the others in room. Two nurses held down her left side while the other doctor held down her legs. Dr. Wheeler positioned himself behind her right shoulder. Gray sat there, dazed. They talked about pain, but right now she couldn't feel much. Gray still looked at the door hoping to see at least one person she knew.

"Okay. 1, 2, 3." Gray cried out in pain. She definitely felt it now, it felt like a thousand needles with cutting all the way down to her bone. Her eyes prickled with tears wishing this sick dream could start again. The doctor gently laid her sore arm in a sling and tucked under the blanket.

"Sorry, I know those suck. We will be back in a bit okay? If you need anything just press this button." He handed her while the rest of them walked out of the room. Now Gray was alone and scared. She had no phone, no TV, nothing to put her in touch with the world. She held her face in her good hand and cried. Her head hurt, her arm, and she wanted to know what happened.

"Gray?" She looked up to see Curtis standing in her doorway looking distraught. His face looked tired and he had dried blood on his arm.

"Curtis, what's going on? What happened?" Her voice got louder making the blood pressure machine beep like crazy. Curtis rushed over his bed, pulling her thin frame into his arms.

"Shh calm down, everything is okay. The guys are fine too, they are spread out around the department here. Everyone is fine, I've seen them all." Gray felt her body sigh in relief.

"What happened? All I remember was going to the bathroom and then waking up in an ambulance."

"Drunk driver. He rammed a car into us, then hit the bus himself. Fucking fool." A grimace ran over his face.

"When can I see Liam? How bad are they all hurt," Gray was going insane without seeing him.

"Soon as I can get him here. Niall got the brunt of it, broken foot. Harry and Zayn just got some bruising. Louis broke his pinky and Liam got a huge cut on his forehead. If your butt would of been in bed too you would be just as fine." Gray rolled her eyes. When you have to pee you have to pee.

"Thank god they are all okay," she breathed out leaning back in bed. Now that everyone was save Gray felt the overwhelming need to sleep. Her eyes started to close until Curtis shook her again.

"Hey, stay awake. No sleeping with concussions," he barked. Curtis reached into his pocket pulling out her phone. Yes!

"Call your mom, I'm sure she saw the news by now. I'm going back to them. Promise as soon as he can get here he will." Curtis gave her leg a squeeze before heading out of the room. Gray quickly jumped online to catch herself up on what exactly happened.

BREAKING NEWS: Whoa kids, WHOA. Early this morning the bus of One Direction was struck by a drunk driver. Details on the whole accident have been kept mum but want answers. Someone on the road was able to snap this picture, but the grainy effects doesn't help. To our eye it looks to be our favorite damsel Gray Cameron in the back of an ambulance. Gasp! Trust us, as soon as we have details we WILL share them!

Gray slid through the pictures with her heart dropping. There was a huge gash on the side of the bus looking like the on ground version of the Titanic. The truck literally hit them between where Niall slept and where Gray was in the back. No wonder they were the worst. She signed off, ready to dial her mom.

"Gray! Is that you," Gloria screamed over the line.

"It's me mom, I'm fine. Baby is fine." Gray sat there staring up at the ceiling wondering when she could get back to man.

----

Four hours. Four hours she sat in that room alone. The doctors came in to check up on her every fifteen minutes but right now she was over it all. Her mom cried for a good fifteen minutes before even speaking back to her. Gray sat there patiently waiting to let her know she was okay. The shock of it all still hadn't left her body yet though. She hoped seeing a familiar face, other than Curtis. It was time to break out of this bank. Except for her immobile arm she felt fine. Bits and pieces of the accident came back to her, but it didn't help that she was practically sleep walking when it happened. If another doctor asked her what day it was she was going to break.

"Knock, knock." She groaned. Dr. what's his name was back again. This nightmare needed to end.

"Brought a visitor." He moved out of the way showing a bruise and beaten up Liam. He looked just like she felt. Tears came to Gray's eyes as his body rushed to her.

"Oh god baby," he cried holding her in his arms. The pressure on her shoulder made her flinch but she didn't want to let go of him, not now. Liam pulled back checking over her entire body for any other injuries.

"How's your body? How's the baby," he whispered out. Dr. Wheeler stepped up to the bed.

"Other than a concussion and the shoulder she is fine. Your baby is good too, nothing to worry about. We should be able to let you all lose in the next hour," he stated. Liam couldn't stop looking at her with a worried look on his face. Gray saw the stitched up gash that stretched over his eyebrow. It looked deep and painful to her. Her finger lightly went over it, making him flinch too.

"I was so worried. They had you in that ambulance, all unconscious and it crushed me. Thank God you are okay," he whispered out again, his voice cracking at every other word. Gray rubbed her hand down his arm and connected their fingers. She squeezed tight.

"Don't worry I'm okay," Gray whispered back giving him a smile. He didn't seem convinced though, Gray was always good at hiding the pain.

"How are the rest," she asked, trying to take the attention away from her.

"Fine. They have already been discharged we are just waiting on you right now," Liam told her. Gray was ready to roll too. She was hungry, tired and wanted some real pants on. Not these paper like scrubs. Thankfully the doctor picked up on it, he walked in with the golden papers right now.

"Alright, you are free. Rest Gray, you need an extreme amount of rest right now. I'm serious. If you have any memory loss, dizziness or anything else out of the ordinary you get your butt to the ER. Hear me?" She nodded, ready to tell him anything to get out of there. He signed the last sheet of paper, handing them over and said their goodbyes.

"Go. Now." She barked. Liam helped her carefully get out of the small bed and tucked her body protectively into hers. Gray let him lead her out of there and down the long hallway where the boys were in a private room. They all smiled seeing them walk in. Niall was on the couch with his foot up in a boot, Louis was nodding off in the chair with his finger cast and the rest were talking quietly in the corner. Harry cheered seeing her in the doorway.

"She's here! Can we leave now?" He had a large bruise on his forearm and on his cheek but otherwise he looked fine. Curtis and Steve stood, ready to give them all orders. Gray held on to a yawn, ready to just do what they needed to do.

"Alright, let's go." The group followed Steve out to the lobby of the hospital where the press was being held. Gray closed her eyes but the blinding lights still cut through her eyelids. She felt Liam pull her body into the oversized SUV. The screams and shouts was just about enough for her.

"Where are we going," she whispered to him hoping he could hear.

"The hotel." Gray looked out the window, she didn't even realize that they were in Portland already. Maybe she hit her head harder then she thought. The van moved along while they all stayed quiet. Everyone looked just as dazed and beaten as she was. There was about a million questions running through her mind, but it was better to stay quiet at this point. Everyone needed time and sleep.

“Are you all still doing your concert tonight,” Gray asked him quietly. Liam looked at her with anger in his eyes. It felt almost like he was mad at her, like she drove the truck into the bus. Gray was taken back.

“Yes,” he barked through his teeth. He looked like he wanted to kill her. Gray felt even more shocked then before. She unclasped her hand from his and moved closer to the side of the door. Whatever she did wrong clearly pissed him off. Her mind ran through the moments before all this happened wondering where she went wrong. Things were good with them, after their ‘date’ night they were happy like normal. Why was he being a dick now? She leaned against her window with her throbbing head counting down the blocks until she could be in the hotel and sleeping.

----

Sometimes being an ass was so easy for Liam. He really didn’t even catch himself doing it until the damage was already done. Just like now. He barked at her in the car, not because it was her fault he was just so upset. The words came out wrong, making her look like she was a small child. As soon as they got to the hotel she marched up to the room and went to sleep. They didn’t have any clothes there, due to the bus still being looked at by the cops which made Liam just get more pissed. He left her there sleeping, looking bruised and broken yet again and met with the boys in the other room.

“As long as I have a chair I should be good to go,” Niall said as Liam walked in. Of course they were talking about the concert tonight. Word about the accident spread through the news like wildfire through social media making everyone question if it was possible. The boys knew it would still happen though, they weren’t that broken.

“Is anyone else having a hard time wrapping their head around this one,” Louis asked, rubbing his temples. Everyone nodded in response.

“Thank God Gray wasn’t in the bathroom then. She would be crushed right now,” Zayn replied. It made Liam grimace. He didn’t tell her that part, it was best she didn’t know. Steve said that the truck blew out the bathroom completely when it hit. The exact spot Gray was just moments before. Who knows what would of happened if the truck slammed into them moments before. Liam didn’t even want to think about it.

“How is she,” Louis asked. Liam shrugged awkwardly. They were in another predicament all because of him.

“I may have been a bit mean to her,” he quietly responded. The whole room groaned. What else was new.

“What did you do now,” Harry bitterly asked.

“Barked off to her in the car. It was an accident but you know her, everything is a big deal.” Harry rolled his eyes.

“Everything is a big deal. Especially if you just sat in an emergency room getting your shoulder shoved back into your body. You best watch your tone Liam, it will get you in trouble,” he announced. Liam knew Harry was right, even for being the youngest he had a brain on his shoulders.

“I didn’t mean to. I was just upset, this shouldn’t of happened. None of us should be hurt right now, even the pregnant girl,” Liam stopped, not wanting to continue. It was weighing on his mind, he knew that this point could come, just wished it didn’t.

“I know what you are getting at Li. I understand. Talk it over with her, she took the first part so well I think she would be okay going home earlier, even much more now with her arm that way.” Liam sighed, good old Harry to have the calming words."Just get through tonight and deal with the rest later." Harry gave Liam a pat on the back before leaving to his own room down the hall. Liam sat there in thought, wondering if it was all too much.

----

He got out of the shower, wiping down the fogged over mirror checking out his face. Some of the blood washed off his cut making him look less like a serial killer. He wondered how they could actually perform with everyone looking so beat up, but when there is a will there is a way. Liam knew he owed it to his face. He was just about to start shaving when a thunk came through from the other room. Only one out there was Gray. Liam rushed out to find her on her knees on the floor.

"Shit Gray are you okay? Did you fall," he asked, helping her frail body off the floor. Liam held her until her butt landed back on the bed.

"Where's Perrie, tell her I changed my mind I'll come tonight," she mumbled to him. Liam say the dazed look in her eyes, something wasn't right. He sat down next to her continuing his glaze.

"Gray, Perrie left a while back. Where are you going tonight," he asked softly. Gray's look on her face didn't change.

"Concert tonight, I said I wouldn't go but I will. Liam?" He could see her eyes drifting back and forth, not able to focus on his face in front of her. His hands and feet began to shake. He knew he had to stay calm, calm was good.

"Gray Love, what's your last name?"

"It's Gray.. Gray. I..I don't know." The look on her face started to show her being scared.
"Stay here love, don't move." Liam bolted out of the room and down the hall to where the rest were.

"Steve, you have to come, something is wrong with her," he sobbed out. His whole body shook while he let Steve lead the way back. Gray was laying on the bed again with her eyes closed. In a way she looked dead.

"Gray. Gray!" Her eyes snapped open staring at them both. She tried to sit up but Steve stopped her.

"No sweetie, just stay there for a second," Steve light cooed to her. He didn't want to freak her out. Liam stood beside him, quickly pacing with worry.

"Gray, can you count to five for me," Steve asked. Her eyes darted between them before answering.

"1. 4.5" Liam bit his lip, something wasn't right.

"Good job girl. How do you feel," Steve asked her again.

"I don't feel good," Gray pouted. It was breaking Liam's heart, she sounded like such a little child. Steve helped her sit up and stand. Her body swayed back and forth causing Steve and Liam to hold her. They started walking down the hallway to the main area when Gray stopped.

"I'm going to be sick." Her skin went to ash making Liam freak out inside even more. He quickly picked her up, ignoring her broken shoulder and rushed her to the bathroom. She heaved in the toliet, barely making it while Liam held her close.

"Liam, we need to bring her to the hospital." He looked over to see Steve standing in the doorway. Her cold body shivered in his arms. Liam picked her up easily again carrying her out into the main room. The rest of the guys looked at him with big eyes wondering what was going on. They breezed past them all heading to the hotel hallway and into the elevator. Liam finally had a chance to look down at Gray. She definitely didnt look the same. Her round stomach stuck out even farther them before. Liam was scared shitless. His love and baby were seriously in trouble now.

"Liam, give her to me," Steve ordered sticking out his hands. Liam stayed exactly where he was. No one was touching her but him.

"Liam come on, you have to stay you all leave soon. Give her to me, I'll keep her safe and keep you posted." Liam knew he was right. As much as he wanted to stay with her, work came first at this point. Steve gently took her body in his arms. It immediately made Liam feel empty.

"Go back upstairs, I'll call you as soon as I know anything," Steve order. The elevator doors flew open with Steve walking out of them as fast as possible. Liam stood there watching the love of his life, cold and unconscious walk away from here. It killed him, yet there was nothing he could do. The world could have ended right then and there and Liam wouldn't have noticed. His heart and soul left with her.

----

Beep, Beep, Beep

The sound made Gray stir. She moved her good arm only to find it heavy. What was that? The beeps continued when all she wanted to do was sleep. It sounded so good right now only if it could be quiet in here.

Beep, Beep

She felt a groan in her mouth coming. Liam needed to shut his phone off. Gray opened her eyes, ready to yell at him only to see that this wasn't the hotel room. The walls where white, this wasn't the same place. Her eyes darted around to see all the medical equipment surrounding her bed. This wasn't right, she already left the hospital with Liam. She shouldn't be here. The room was dark, yet no one else was around. Gray began to shake as she hit the 'call' button. Within seconds a nurse walked in.

"Hi Gray, I'm Norah. How are you feeling," the brunette woman asked as she stood above her.

"Confused," Gray croaked out. Her throat was unbelievably dry. It felt like she swallowed way too much sand paper.

"I bet. I'm getting the doctor in here as soon as I can and he can explain it to you. Your mom was here, I will try to find her too," she smiled. Gray looked at her again. Gloria was here?

"My mom? Where's Liam?" The nurse walked to the other side of the bed checking one of the random machines.

"I do believe that's who she said she was. Looks just like you. I'm not sure who Liam is. Let me go get the doctor." She left without saying anything else leaving Gray to look around the room again.

"Hello Gray, we do meet again." Dr. Wheeler, the same man from before.

"Orange hair man, I remember you."

"Well that is a good sign. What's the last thing you remember," he asked, coming close. Gray thought about it for a second. She remembered the car ride to the hotel with Liam and his sour attitude. After that was the hotel bed, an now here. That was it.

"Taking a nap," she told him.

"Your friend Steve brought you in. Turns out your concussion was worse then we thought after checking your CT scans. You are also suffering from a pretty good case of exhaustion." Gray stayed silent looking at him.

"How you been feeling funny lately?"

"Dizzy and tired, but I'm pregnant. Thought it went hand and hand," Gray replied. It was true too, Liam's app even said that.

"Tired sure, but dizzy can be a bit too much. I know you live a very busy life, have you had time to rest," he asked. Gray could tell she was about to get the speech. This would be a good time to curl up under a rock.

"Well, we will talk about that later. Right now you will need to stay here, at least until tomorrow morning." Gray looked around, what time was it anyway.

"What time is it," she asked.

"Just about 9:30. You've been out for about five hours now." Gray shut her eyes, Liam had to be completely freaking out at this point.

"Gray!" Her mom's voice made her open her eyes. Gloria came running up to the bed already having tears run down her face. She grabbed Gray being careful not to hurt her still injured shoulder.

"Hey mom," Gray whispered quietly.

"Child you are going to give me a heart attack!" Gloria sobbed again not letting go of her body. Gray sighed, it wasn't her fault she continued to get injured, at least she thought. Gloria pulled away giving the doctor's a smile.

"Can we get some alone time," she politely asked. Gray laughed, sometimes her mom did have manners.

"Of course, Gray, you rest we will talk later about the plans." Dr. Wheeler gave her a smile before walking out with the doctor. Gray waited until they left before she spoke.

"Where's Liam?" Gloria laughed.

"I knew that would be your first question. He should be here soon. Steve said he was itching at the bit to get here." Gray thought about it in her head. If it was 9:30 now he should be here in an hour. That made her feel a bit better. Liam was her safety net.

"When did you get here," Gray asked Gloria changing the subject.

"About an hour ago. He called me sobbing saying you were headed to the hospital, the poor boy. I jumped on the first plane out here," Gloria explained.

"Where are the girls?"

"Mila actually has them." Gray shouldn't have been shocked here that but she was.

"Oh." She couldn't think of anything else to say. Gloria grabbed the chair from the corner of the room and slid it up next to the bed. She sat down, taking Gray's hand.

"Sweetheart you need to take better care of yourself," Gloria told her, holding back sobs. It killed Gray seeing her like this.

"I do Mom. The bus accident was just a freak thing," Gray whispered out.

"The exhaustion is not." Gray looked away, not able to keep her contact with Gloria. Yes, she did feel really tired and sluggish lately but she just thought it was being pregnant. Gray tried to take care of herself but keeping up with eating and sleep is hard when you are in a different city every day. She really didn't see how bad it had gotten.

"I don't know what else to say other then I am sorry." A single tear rolled down her cheek fully knowing more were on the way.

"Oh Gray, it's okay. You are too strong of a lady. You need to let us take care of you for a while. You just rest, get some sleep," Gloria dictated. Gray was ready to crash but wanted to see Liam first.

"Don't worry, I'm sure you will know as soon as he gets here," Gloria told her. Gray smiled, her mom really did know her too well.

----

Gray woke up later seeing the room got darker. All the lights were turned off, only the monitors left a small glow there. Her good hand felt hot, way too hot then the rest of her body. She looked down to see Liam using it as his own personal pillow. Gray smiled, her boy was here, finally. She wiggled her fingers trying to wake him up but the poor boy was dead to the world.

"Liam, Liam," she whispered. His eyes fluttered open, immediately seeing her look at him. Liam jumped up pulling her body into her's.

"Oh my love," he sobbed into her hair. He rocked their bodies together not willing to let her go. Gray held onto him just as tight. It felt like days had past since she touched him. It wasn't a feeling she liked. Gray pulled back to examine his cut as best as she could in the dark room.

"That looks deep," she complained. Liam rolled his eyes.

"Please love. You have been in the hospital twice in one day and you are yelling at me?" Gray could barely see his face, but she could tell he was smirking.

"I'm your soon to be wife, I'm allowed to worry about you," Gray cooed at him, running her thumb lightly over the cut. He flinched under her touch.

"I'm your soon to be husband who may not making it past twenty three if you continue to injure yourself," he moaned.

"Such a drama queen jailbait." She laid down back in the bed patting to the small open spot next to her. Liam didn't miss a step, his was next to her sideways in the bed staring at her face.

"You scared me," he whispered.

"I know. I'm sorry." Gray reached her head up kissing him. It felt amazing, they really had gone too long without doing it.

"Don't do it again." The look on his face was so sincere. He really did mean the words coming out of his mouth. The past eighteen hours had been too much, way more then he could handle. Seeing Gray unconscious twice killed him inside and out. He never wanted to experience that again.

"I'll try." Her hair held her stomach. That feeling came back. It was like a flutter or fingertip running over her abdomen. It actually make her feel like she was getting tickled from the inside out.

"What is it," he asked, his face going back to the same worried look. Gray gave him a reassuring smile.

"I think it's Little One, I keep feeling this weird sensations down there." Liam's hand covered hers and rested them on her belly. Neither of them said anything else, just enjoyed the time being completely alone without noise. The silence felt reassuring to her. Gray rested her head under his and closed her eyes. They were going to be okay, definitely.

----

"Knock, knock." Dr. Wheeler walked in the next morning looked a lot more rested then the three of them. Gloria came by earlier after spending the night at the hotel but she still looked exhausted to Gray. She and Liam slept on and off throughout the night but it didn't help. Gray wanted a big fluffy bed as soon as possible.

"This a good time to talk," he asked. All three shook their head yes. Dr. Wheeler grabbed the last remaining chair by the door and sat next to the bed. Gray knew it was a bad sign, doctors never sat down when you saw them. She grabbed Liam's hand from where he was sitting on the bed and gripped it tight.

"Gray, you aren't going to like this so bear with me but this is serious. Speaking from me, and not just my doctor side I think you definitely need to relax. And I mean full on relax. Sit around, gain weight, watch movies. All of that." Gray intently listened to him, knowing there was more. He sighed before speaking again.

"I'm talking about bedrest. At least three to four weeks of not moving like you have been." No no, this cannot be happening.

"What are you saying," she breathed out.

"I'm saying you need to be in a calm atmosphere where you aren't getting shuffled from pit stop to pit stop. No tours, no buses and definitely no more plane rides." Gray bit her lip to keep herself from crying. This was not an option right now. She only had a little time left with Liam before it was time for the big moment to be away.

"So you want her to go home," Liam asked, finally chiming in. Dr. Wheeler nodded.
"Home is the best place for you right now. Between your head and your arm, your body needs to cool off before you give birth." Gray shook her head at him, unwilling to go through with this.

"Not an option doc," she told him.

"Can she at least fly back to Chicago," Gloria asked. Gray looked at her shocked. Can anyone join her side right now?

"It's not ideal but yes, that would be fine as long as she didn't move at all the days after." No, no!

"NO! I'm staying here. I can rest on the bus. They have that huge couch where I can stretch out and get fat. I don't need to go home," Gray cried out. Everyone looked at her with sympathetic faces. She wished should could cuss them all out right now.

"I'll have Steve check some flight times to see when you leave. Tomorrow work," Liam asked the doctor. He wouldn't even look at her right now.

"That's fine. Gray I'm serious. You need to the rest, your baby especially. I can tell you are pretty upset right now, but you have to take care of yourself." He waved them goodbye before walking out of the room and leaving them alone.

"I cannot freaking believe you two! I am a grown adult who is allowed to do what she wants," Gray yelled out. Liam jumped off the bed and looked at her.

"Gray, love. You have my heart but right now you are overruled. You put yourself in the hospital again because you didn't take care of yourself. I can't always keep tabs on you. You need to go home and rest," he tried to reason with her. Gray looked away, not wanting to see her cry.

"Gray, Liam is right." Gloria had stayed quiet until now. This was a battle Liam and Gray needed to work out.

"This is bullshit," Gray whispered. She knew she couldn't win this, but at least go down swinging. Liam's face look strained, he was unsure of what to do.

"I'll go make some calls." Liam squeezed her hand once before walking out. Gray continued to stare at the wall wishing she could run out of this place.

"Gray, I know you are pissed but you need to remember your child. You nee the rest." Inside, Gray knew was right, her body did need a break but there was no way she would admit it. Gray rested her hands on her belly. At this point, it was just her and Little One, the rest could piss off.

----

"You have everything?" Gray and Gloria stood in the airport terminal with Liam. The doctor released her out earlier that morning only giving them a couple of hours before she was shipped back to Chicago. Gray was still trying to get Liam to change his mind and beg her to stay but nothing was working. After he handed her the tickets earlier, she knew it was all over.

"Yes." The word came out a bit more forceful then she wanted, making her sound like a complete bitch. She didn't mean to but controlling her emotions was hard right now.

"I love you Gray." He looked at her truthfully in the eyes. Gray sniffed, holding back the tears. Liam protectively covered her body with his, trying to make her feel better.

"Couple of weeks and we will be in town, okay?"

"That's too long," Gray pouted into his chest. She didn't want to leave him, not now.

"Oh please, you will be fine. It will be quick. You just sit, watch tv and not move until I get there." He pulled away giving her a smile. Gray couldn't return it, right now all she could do was cry.

"Don't cry sweet love," Liam whispered in her ear hugging her again. He kissed her one last time before letting her go.

"Talk to you soon Liam," Gloria smiled at him. She walked away, giving them a moment.

"Love you," Gray choked out.

"And you know that I love you too. Very much." He wiped the tears from her face and kissed her one last time. Gray walked away continued to look back at him. He gave her another weak smile and a small wave before joining Steve who was off to the side.

"Come on sweetheart." Gloria grabbed her hand pulling her away. Liam became smaller until he disappeared completely.
