I'm about to knock on Abbey's door when I hear the sound of a guitar playing. Then I hear a song:

I turn the handle and walk into her room. I see her sitting on her bed. I clear my throat. "Surprise.... How is my Abbey?"

Abbey had set down her guitar before I walked in, but she shrieks and throws herself under the covers of her bed. "What are you doing here!? I though you were going to be gone for another two weeks!"

She seems scared to see me..... She wouldn't act like that. I sit down on the edge of her bed. Se won't even let me see her face. "Hey.... What's wrong?"

"N-nothing...." She's crying.

"C'mon. Tell me." I touch her arm and she flinches. This isn't right.... I pull down the covers and see that her face is practically black and blue. I pull off the covers completely, she has cuts and bruises everywhere. "What happened? Who did this to you?"

"N-no one...."

"Abbey, tell me this instant who did this to you!"

"It was my boyfriend.... Well, ex boyfriend now."

I feel my body go cold. Her boyfriend had hurt her.... I clench my fists together. He needs to pay.... I stand and I'm about to exit the room when Abbey calls.

"D-don't...."

"Why not? He hurt my princess." I catch my breath. I can't believe I just let that slip. I whip around and begin to run. I practically fell down the stairs and tripped into my car. Now she knows that I like her. I don't think I'll be going back anytime soon.
