Remember Those Days?
Coming Home
Louis grabbed my hand and pulled me behind the school where nobody else was. We laughed quietly, chasing each other around. I felt a hand grab my pink jacket. "Gotcha!" Louis exclaimed. I turned around, inches apart from Louis. Out of nowhere, he pecked my cheek. He pulled away, blushing. I felt my cheek, smiling. We hugged, and headed back. But the school was completely white...
My eyes opened slightly. My head was throbbing with pain, and I was extremely tired. I gripped my forehead, grimacing. I tried to sit up, but I was too weak, and fell back onto the pillows. "Just lay down. You're not strong enough yet." I looked to my right to see a tall female with long brown hair and dark skin. "What happened.." I asked. "The results are showing signs of anorexia.
"When was the last time you ate, Ms. Ridgeford?" She asked, taking out a clipboard and pen. "Uhh.... A few d-days ago, I think.." I responded. She scribbled something down. "I was getting something last night, but..." I stopped. The doctor looked at me. "Well?" She asked. "I... got distracted, and then fainted.."
"Mmhmm.." She scribbled. "Do you have any family we can contact?"
"Not that I know of."
"What about a spouse?"
"L-" I stopped myself. "N-No, ma'am."
"I see."
She scribbled some more, then typed something into her laptop. "Ill back back in a few hours." She dragged her equipment out of the room. I sat quietly, listening to squeaky wheels of wheelchairs, and footsteps. One pair of those footsteps led to my room. I quickly pretended to be asleep. I heard the person shush, and he was followed by six other pairs of footsteps. "She's asleep." I cracked one eye slightly open, and saw the boys, Drew, and Eve. I stifled a smile, hoping to not give away the fact I was awake.
I groaned a little and shifted a bit to make it seem real. "I hope she wakes up soon," I recognized Eve's voice. She was shushed by one of the boys. "Sorry." She whispered. I cracked open my eyes, acting like I was waking up. "Good morning," Drew spoke softly, smiling. "Hey guys.." My voice was hoarse, and My eyelids were heavy. I lifted my selft upright, even though Louis insisted I lay down. I looked at him with sad eyes.
He looked groggy, as if he hadn't gotten any sleep at all. All of them did, but Louis stood out the most. "How are you feeling?" Eve asked. "My head hurts like hell, but I can manage." I answered. "Oh, we can leave if you want - " "No!" I interrupted Drew. He looked startled. I shrunk back. "Sorry... I just don't wanna be alone.." I felt so depressed, but I didn't know why. "Oh, it's fine." Eve sat down next to me. "I feel so depressed... But why?" I asked. "It's just the meds." Louis answered. "Oh." There was an awkward silence.
"I think we should go and let you rest," Liam said, looking around. Everyone agreed, and waved as they left. Louis stayed behind. I pretended to not notice him, and curled up in the sheets. I twitched my nose, as I've been told I do when I'm asleep. " I love you." Someone whispered in my ear. The same person pecked my cheek. As soon as I was sure nobody was in the room, I smiled and felt my cheek.
Louis.
~A few weeks later~
I sat in the lobby, dressed in a green hoodie and a black and white striped t-shirt, matched with green skinnies and black Toms. I shifted nervously in my seat. I wanted to be home and see everybody. Especially Louis. Every time they had visited, Louis had stayed behind and kissed my cheek.
Every time the door opened, I looked frantically at the door. I was extremely homesick. I missed normal food, a normal bed, normal house. I heard the door open. I whipped my head around. "Louis!" I exclaimed. I ran up to him, giving him a great big bear hug. "Hey, love." He greeted me. He put me down, and we walked out. "Have I missed anything?" Louis' face drooped. "The tour was cancelled because of the bus. They can't fix it." "Oh no..." "That's not the worst part." He looked down. " Your flat was robbed." My jaw dropped. "No no no no, oh GOD no..." I panicked. "I should've been there, it's all my fault, I-" Louis interrupted me.
With a kiss.
The sparks were obvious, and so were my red cheeks. We pulled away. Louis was blushing, and looking away. I smiled. He was so cute when he blushed. "Let's go home." I intertwined my hand in his. "So... The flat..." I asked. "They took the jar of money you had on the bookshelf, broke a window, and painted graffiti on the mailbox." He replied
"Damn."
"I know. The Bobbies caught them, though they didn't replace anything."
The rest of the ride home, we talked the past 15 years. We pulled into the driveway, still talking about mobiles. "Oh, and one more thing." I added. I pecked him on the cheek, then got out of the car.
