Remember Those Days?
This is It
I stepped out of Drew's car, walking quickly to the door. "All of you, go pack your stuff." I commanded once I got inside. "Go. Now." I said, gesturing to the hallway.
"But we - " Harry started, pausing and looking behind me. I spun around, facing Louis. Rolling my eyes, I pulled him by the wrist back outside.
"Why did you lie to me?" I demanded, crossing my arms. "I..." He started.
"Hmm? Tell me, Louis." I snapped, watching his arms tense up.
"Why do you feel you have the right to lie to me, and use me?!" I shouted. He clenched his fists.
"WHY DON'T YOU LIE TO ME AND TELL ME YOU LOVE ME?!" I shrieked. He broke. His fist collided with my jaw.
I cupped my stinging jaw, staring at Louis. "That's what I thought." I said, my voice cracking. I rushed inside, ignoring the questions, running up the stairs. I locked the door to my room, and looked in the mirror. My jaw was purple, and it ached. I was startled by a knock on my door. "Go away, Louis!!" I hollered, throwing a pair of shoes at the inside of my door.
"Louis? Wha - Oh, Louis! No, this is Helen." Helen answered. I opened the door a crack.
"What do you want?" I growled. Her eyes glinted with the slightest bit of fear.
"I want to help." She told me, pushing the door open more. I sighed, and let her in, closing the door and locking it.
"How did you get in here in the first place?" I asked. She shrugged, sitting on my bed.
"I followed you guys to the hospital, then back to your house. The boys let me in." She responded. "Of course they did.." I muttered.
"Abigail, you haven't even given them a chance to explain."
"I don't need them to explain."
"Yes, you do. You don't understand."
"I completely understand!"
"ABIGAIL LISTEN TO ME!!" I winced at her volume. She could be a bitch when she needed to be.
"When I came inside, Louis was in tears. You're becoming someone else, Abigail. You can't let one silly little thing tear you apart! Louis told them to hold off the tour because he loves you, and he doesn't want to leave. You mean too much to him. "
A tear slipped from my eye, because I knew it was true. I was the problem, not Louis, or any of them. Louis didn't deserve this shit, any of it.
"It's okay, you just got caught up in all the drama and panicked." Helen reassured me, rubbing my back. Had I said that out loud? "Thanks, Helen." I smiled through my tears. She truly was an amazing friend. I didn't deserve her, after what I'd put her through.
"Could I... be alone now?" I asked, trying to sound polite. "Oh, and can you apologize to Louis for me?" Helen nodded with a smile, then closed the door on her way out. I snuggled into my pillow, crying silently, thinking about what I had done.
I got off my bed, searching underneath it, when my fingertips reached a thick, stringy thing. I pulled out the rope, crying harder. I tied it into a loop shape, tying the loose end around a hook on my ceiling.
I took my desk chair, placing it under the noose. Grabbing ahold of the loop, I stepped onto the chair. "Goodbye.." I whispered through tears. My door whipped open. "Abigail, STOP!" I shook my head, my palms shaking. Strong arms picked me up off of the chair, making me lose my grip of the noose.
I fell loosely into the strong arms, crying into the shirt they were coming from. I apologized several times between cries. "It's okay, Abigail...." I recognized Louis' voice, which made me cry harder. He kissed the top of my head, stroking my hair.
Sunlight beamed through my window, straight into my eyes. I looked up at the hook, seeing a severed rope. I felt my cheeks, only to find tear stains and a bruise. I cringed when I touched the bruise. Stretching, I got out of bed, and walked over to my closet. I wanted to look special, because Louis was leaving today, and I didn't want him to forget me.
I picked out my favorite outfit, hoping it looked okay. I walked downstairs, smelling pancakes. I walked into the kitchen, sitting at the table silently. Everybody was quiet. "The bus is coming in 2 minutes.." Louis broke the silence. I bit my lip, stifling back tears. I didn't want him to leave. Ding-dong! The doorbell chimed a few times, when Drew got up to get it. "Hey Eve." I greeted her, peering around the corner. "I just came to visit." She beamed with happiness. Drew looked at me.
"Um, Eve.." He swallowed. "Th-they're leaving.." He coughed, gesturing to the big tour bus headed for my house. "Oh." She said, as if she were a third wheel finally figuring it out. I watched as the boys stood up from the table, and walked over to the door, filing out like soldiers.
We followed them, and we hugged goodbye. After I hugged Louis, I looked him in the eyes. I kissed his nose, ruffling his hair. I smiled. "Happy travels." I whispered. I watched them board the bus, tears cascading down my cheeks. It seemed like just yesterday they had arrived. As the bus pulled away, I blew a kiss, sniffling. I would probably never see any of them again.
Probably.
