Chapter 7: Forbidden Crush
*Harry’s POV*
I left Dr. Baker’s office and headed back to my room to be greeted by Levi, who was finished with his sessions for the day. He began speaking to me but I wasn’t paying attention at all. All I could see in my mind when I left the office were hazel eyes and glasses. Something about her bothered me and left me with many questions about her. Why the fuck had she kept staring at me the way she did during my session? Was she judging me? And if she was who the fuck is she to judge me?! And why do I kind of give a damn if she was... kind of... And what was her name again?
“Oi! Harry did you hear me lad?” Levi asked pulling me out of my train of thought.
“What?!” I snapped a little too harshly apologizing right after.
“Sorry mate what did you want?”
“I said I’m sorry for this morning waking you up and all on a late day.” Levi answered.
“No worries Levi. It wasn’t the first time and I’m sure it won’t be the last time, I’ll live.” I answered lying down in my bed turning away from him to face the window.
I drifted off to sleep not realizing how tired I was and as I closed my eyes I was rejoined by hazel eyes and glasses.
*Reagan’s POV*
My eight hour day ended with grabbing dinner with Laurie whom I had met earlier in the van on the way to the hospital. We started talking during the car ride both to and from the hospital and decided to get to know each other better later on that evening. She was 21, Australian, really sweet and easy to talk to. When we got back to the apartments, I found out that she lived on the floor under me so I invited her up for drinks and we gossiped about our day.
“So what department are you under?” Laurie asked sitting on a stool in front of the breakfast bar in my kitchen.
“I’m studying under Dr. Baker for psychiatric illness in young adults.” I answered and took a sip of the wine Laurie brought over, lifting up the glass and looking at the rich red color before I put it down.
“Aw that’s sick! It’s so hard to get in under Baker. I tried last year but didn't get in. I heard she’s a real tough ass as far as who she picks to study under her.She only ever chooses one intern for her department. Good on you girl! That must mean you know your shit!” She replied then told me that she and Peyton were studying in the youth ward of the hospital and that he had “eyes for me.” I laughed.
“What is that supposed to mean?” I asked her, curiosity clear in my voice as I had only met him today briefly.
“He just kept gushing on how beautiful he thought you were all day. Anytime we had a break to talk freely you were a part of his conversation.”
“But he barely spoke to me in the car this morning or this afternoon on the way back here. How does he have so much to say already?” I chuckled again bewildered by the idea.
“Don’t underestimate the sneaky peeps, he was definitely checking you out. He might be too shy to tell you or ask you out for drinks.” Laurie said pouring the last of the wine bottle in each of our glasses.
“Speaking of sneaky peeps...” I said earning a glance from Laurie,“today there was this patient from my first sit in session that I just couldn’t stop staring at. And when he left I couldn’t get him off my mind. I don’t consider myself shy in the least bit but every time he looked at me or breathed in my direction, my face lit up like Rudolf’s nose.” Laurie laughed at my expense and I began to laugh along with her, a bit tipsy from the wine.
“So you’ve got a forbidden crush on a patient like Peyton has on you? His crush is a bit more tolerated though I would think.”
“No this is different. I actually made some type of contact with the patient.” Laurie laughed covering her mouth to keep from spitting wine out. I'm not the only tipsy one I gather.
“What does he look like?” Laurie asked and I began to explain the beautifully chiseled features of Harry Styles.
“Well he sounds like an Adonis, but there’s one problem...he’s in a psych hospital Reagan.”
“That does put a damper on things doesn’t it? But that’s the thing, he seems perfectly normal. I didn't notice anything off about him. There were others I sat in on today and I could tell that there was something wrong, but with him nothing significant. I wish we were allowed to read their case files so we could know why they are here ya know?”
“Maybe you would have a better idea if you weren’t staring at him with goo-goo eyes and actually listening to his session with Baker!” Laurie laughed again but there was seriousness behind her tone.
“Fuck off you!” I laughed and threw a couch cushion at her, but she had a point. “Tomorrow I’m gonna listen to the recording and pay more attention in the session so I can do just that.” Laurie stuck her tongue out at me and glanced at the clock.
“Oh shit it’s already eleven!” she said standing up to leave. “I’d better be off darling, we've got to be up earlier tomorrow.”
I gave her a hug and told her I would see her tomorrow. When I closed the door I immediately started shedding clothes to hop in the shower and wash my hair. When I got out dried myself and put on my night clothes, I slid under the covers to sleep when green eyes, dimples and a sexy smirk invaded my dreams.
