Why Me?

Freedom

Abrial's POV

Well ever since that week ago, I haven't talked to Louis or Isis. The boys and I have made encounters, but nothing more, apparently Louis must be telling them to make little contact with me. I didn't mind, but I was so bored. The only person I can hang out with is Darren and his girlfriend. That usually ends as a huge fail. Ex: Making out, movie night to themselves, wanting privacy time, etc. The worst is that it's summer time, like, seriously. I thought this summer was going to be fun. I logged onto twitter to find a party invitation from this girl. I've seen her in the halls before but never really talked to her. I decided to accept it since I have nothing better to do.

I was ready to go ten minutes later. I headed downstairs when I heard.

"Uhh where are you going?" Why now?

"To a party." I sighed hoping he would let me go without an argument.

"Well you can go, but don't do what you did before you hear me?" He gave me a stern look.

"Really big bro? You think I would do that again?" He looked at me weird.

"Well...." I hit him on the shoulder before grabbing the house keys and left.

I arrived at the party filled with dunken, out of their mind teens. I assumed that I didn't need to knock since the door was cracked. I walked in to bursting music and people grinding everywhere. I walked to the kitchen, when I got there I found the boys. What shocked me the most was the three girls sitting in Louis, Liam, and Zayn's lap. What the duck? Who are they? Who cares, I said hey to all the boys before grabbing a drink and leaving. I walked to the corner of the living room where a lovers seat was placed. I sat down on the comfy seat before drinking the coke I had. I planned not to drink since I had to walk home and might do something stupid.

Pretty soon, a guy walks up. He doesn't look drunk at all.

"Is this seat taken?" He had a nice voice. Impressive, good looks and nice voice. I shook my head before downing the rest of my drink.

"Whatcha got there?" He raised an eyebrow.

"Uhh..coke. I don't drink." I said hoping he would find me boring and leave. This was too awkward anyways.

"Me too, I don't drink." He smiled at me, wow, nice smile too! Three points for this dude.

"I'm Abrial by the way."

"I know who you are. You're Darren's little sister. The one that got high with his best friend. I'm Caden." I rolled my eyes before replying.

"Look, if all you are gonna know me by is Darren's little sister, than you can leave. I wanna be known as Abrial, the girl with a normal li-"

"Hey, okay. I get it, I have an older brother who is in college right now. All of my teachers would compare me to him. I don't want to be known as Josh's little brother who is nothing like him either." He looks at me with those beautiful grey eyes.

"Yeah it does suck cheeseballs." I sigh while he laughs. I begin to smile, because his laugh is so cute. You know, me and Caden could have a relationship. He's nice, he doesn't drink, he understands me. I don't know, maybe.

Throughout the rest of the night, we have many conversations. Before he leaves, he gives me his number and I give him mine. I leave the party and began walking home. When I get home, I get a shocking surprise.

"Honey, where were you? Why are you dressed like that?" Oh no, mom and dad are home.

"I just came from a party." I looked at them with an innocent face, hoping they would let me off the hook.

"Now sweetie, normally I wouldn't allow this but, you are grown now so, I'll let you off the hook. If you ever come home drunk or high or with a guy though, no more parties. Ever!" Wow.

"Okay, well I'm tired, good night I love you guys." I hugged my mom and dad, who seemed mad, before heading upstairs. I got halfway up the stairs before I got a call.

"Hello?" I smiled thinking of the reasons Caden could have called me.

"Hey beautiful, did you have fun at the party?" I laughed.

"Yeah, what about you?" He sighed.

"Your laugh is so cute." I blushed madly.

"Thanks."

"Hey we should hang out sometime, tomorrow maybe?" I thought about saying no, but I have nothing better to do.

"Yeah sounds great."

"Great, well text me your address tomorrow, see ya then." I grinned.

"Yeah....see ya." He hung up. I had a good feeling about tomorrow. Right now I'm going to take a shower and changed. I laid down in my bed and got comfy before falling into my nightly fantasy.

Victoria's POV

"David, I'm worried about her."

"Me too."

"What are we gonna do? I'm afraid she'll start again." I bit down on my polished fingernails, chipping the paint.

"Only time can tell, and when that time comes, we'll just have to get help."

"Do you think she's seeing him again?" I looked at him, hoping for a good answer.

"I honestly don't think so. She seemed happy when she walked in." He did have a point.

"I don't know. We'll figure something out tomorrow, let's go to bed." We walked upstairs to our bedroom and went to sleep. I hardly got sleep though, I was deeply worried for what trouble our daughter might be in.

Abrial's POV

I woke up this morning really happy. Happy to see Caden. I walked downstairs to find my mom and dad having breakfast. They gave me a weird look.

"Young lady, where exactly are you going with that outfit on?" My dad sipped on his coffee.

"With a friend, out." They looked at each other worriedly.

"Abrial, honey-"

"No, stop calling me honey. I'm not a little kid anymore. No, I'm not gonna start again, so leave me alone." I walked to the front door.

"I'll be home late, don't wait up." I walked out the front door grabbing the keys before walking towards Caden who just pulled up. He kept wiping his nose, must have a cold. In the summer though? Oh well, could be anything. I walked to his car where he was standing, smiling.

"Hey stud." I tried to sound cool, to which I failed terribly. He started laughing.

"Now that was hot. Even though it was a bad impression." He looked into my eyes. We started leaning in. Closer, closer, he pulled away laughing. I nudged him with my elbow.

"Tease." I smirked at him.

"That's what they call me." He grinned.

"Well let's go!" I screamed before hopping in the car. We drove until we reached an abandoned house. I noticed that Caden's eyes looked full of hunger? As if he needed something in that house really bad. He took me inside where we found a couple of guys shooting up and laughing. Oh no, not this, I promised them. It looks so tempting.

"Hey guys, got some for me?" Caden wanted some?

"Want some babe?" He turned to me. Should I shoot up or leave it alone? It's so tempting though. Why not though? Sure.

"Sure." I sat down on a rusty stool, that seems to be sturdy enough to hold me up. After the heroin makes it into my system, I feel a sense of freedom. Finally, I haven't had it in so long. I feel this weight being lifted off of my shoulders. I look to Caden who is smiling.

"Atta girl, good job." He gives me a high five.

"Hey let's go to a club nearby." I just nod my head, I was out of it.

We get to the guard in front of the club and he just lets us in with no id.

"My cousin's best friend is the owner of this club. I get whatever I want here with no id."

"Cool. Let's get a drink." He nods his head and we head to the bar. I order four straight vodka shots. The rest of the night is all a mystery. But I could care less.

Notes

Well, that was interesting. There was more to Abrial's past than you thought. Aha!
