-30 minutes later-
The view from the apartment is alright. I didn’t realise how close we were to the beach.
I watch the waves rumble in and think back to what just happened.
“I have to stay strong. For Lux.”
Louis gone, but I don’t feel safe.
Lux is on my hip, and looking at me as if to say “I know what just happened.”
“Your cheeky miss. You better not tell mommy.”

I eye her off.
I win.
She pops her chest out, causing her back to arch. Her arms pull to her sides, her hands touching her shoulders slightly.

Put me down.

I walk over to the lounge, and place Lux down. I turn the TV on and search for her favourite channel.
I finally find it.

“Now, I’m going to go build your crib!” I pause and look at my baby sister. She was just in extreme danger. How can I be so careless? “And stop looking at me like that!”
