“28, 29, 30,” Zayn said as he handed the money over to his father. “Manchester United for life,” His dad exclaimed. I sat there and laughed. I knew Zayn was going to lose that bet, and I tried to talk him out of the bet, but he wouldn’t listen.
“Next time listen to Gray, she knows what she’s talking about.” I nodded in agreement, “I do.”
“Zaaaayyyyyyyyynnnnnn” I high pitched voice shouted from upstairs. I watched as Zayn’s face lit up and he raced up to where the voice came. I followed slowly behind and entered the kitchen just in time to see him and a little girl in the middle of an intense embrace. “Gray?” A soft voice questioned. I turned around and behind me stood two beautiful girls. Obviously both part of the family, their cheekbones were perfect. One looked to be about Zayn’s age, maybe a year older and the other was younger, but most likely not by a lot.
I smiled, “Hi, you must be Waliyha and Doniya.” They smiled and each hugged me, “It’s nice to meet you,” They chimed. “It’s nice to meet you too,” I said, returning their hugs. Waliyha looked over my shoulder and grinned, running to her older brother. “You’re my brother’s friend,” A little voice spoke. I turned again and smiled at the girl, “I am. And you’re Safaa.”
“That’s me!” She cheered and then walked away. “She’s a little sassy,” Doniya chuckled, “Learned from Louis.” I laughed, “I see.” Doniya rested a hand on my arm, “I’d like to speak with you for a moment, if that’s okay.” My eyes met hers and I was frightened but I nodded anyway. I saw Zayn watch us walk into the next room out of the corner of my eye.
We sat across from each other on the dining room table. “What are your intentions with my brother?” She asked immediately. I was taken off guard, I figured at some point this question would rise but I expected it more from his mother. “I don’t really have any intentions. I met him in the mall yesterday and he offered me a place to stay, just until I figure out what I’m going to do.”
“How long is that going to be,” She asked. As I opened my mouth to answer, Zayn walked in, “What’s going on here?” Doniya looked up and smiled, “Oh nothing, Gray and I are just getting to know each other, she’s great.” I smiled back at her as she got up and left the room, tapping Zayn on the chest as she passed him. He raised an eyebrow at me and I shrugged, getting up and walking past him and back to the basement.

“So, first day here, what do you think?” Zayn asked as we got ready for bed. I smiled to myself, “I love it. Your family is incredible.” I made way to the bed and sat down with my hands in my lap and my head down. I was unbelievably jealous of Zayn. His family loved him so much, they were so close and there were no secrets. They were happy.
“Hey, you okay?” He asked. I felt the bed sink under his weight as he sat next to me. I looked up at him and smiled, “Yeah, more than okay. I’m so happy to be here, it means so much,” I choked back my tears. “Oh Gray, we’re happy to have you,” Zayn replied, tackling me in a hug. I chucked and messed up his hair. “Get off.”
As we got into bed I thought about the cake I was going to make tomorrow. “Hey, Z, how would you like to help me make a cake tomorrow?”
Zayn looked at me and smiled that smile, “I’d love to.”

I am so ashamed of how slow it takes me to update and how short this chapter is.

By the way, never take 3 AP Classes at one time it is such a pain and takes up way too much time.
