Chapter 3

I reached the bus stop, checking the times. The next bus for Baildon left at 16:20. Over 10 minutes to wait. I shivered, wishing I'd brought a jacket, but a warm sweatshirt was all I could fit into this bag, and I didn't get a chance to pick up my coat because I was being hassled by the bitch...
5 minutes later...
I was still waiting.
My great escape sounded so exciting in my head ; ooh! they'll be chasing after you, you will be jumping from buildings! reality: Waiting at a bus stop full of old pensioners. Oh well at least I was finally getting away from the home...

Sally's POV

Well now the little creep was gone, you'd think I'd be happy, well I was happy, I suppose, very deep down...
Well the truth is, I was getting used to her, I like getting used to things, I liked some kind of routine. And, when I was bored I could talk to her, well, ok, annoy her, but she was the only girl here in my age group. Another thing, homework! I need her so I can get her to do my homework!
Oh it'll be ok, I bet she will be here for school tomorrow. I laughed to myself at the thought. What a loser, she won't get far in the world.
Sooooo, what to do now?
The summer holidays had been boring as hell. Like all of my friends were on holiday. The first week was epic, loads of parties, and friends round. But now i felt like I had been deserted. I had never been bored at the home, always having girls follow me back. Now I was well and truly alone.

Kasey's POV

How long had I been on this bus?!An hour? Two? oh, 20 minutes. Well, still a long journey.
I must have been getting close to the station.
"Excuse me, but how many more stops until we get to the station?" I asked an old lady.
She stared blankly ahead. I figured she must be deaf.
"Um, do you know how many stops we have until the station?" I asked a younger guy in front.
"Next stop darlin'" He pressed the button for me.
"Thanks".
"So, what is a young lady like you going off to the station all by yourself?"
Why was he still talking to me? Nosy, or pervy?
I looked at the window," Meeting my cousins, I'm staying over theirs," I said unintersted," Her dad will be there too," I quickly added.
"Mmm OK, it's just, Forster Square station isn't the best place for a young girl like you to be wandering around alone." he said.
As if that wasn't a Red Flag Alert already.
The doors opened and I jumped out, breathing in the fresh air.
It was getting quite dark outside. I shivered, feeling the cold air send a chill through my spine. I traced trains to Leeds. There should be one right now. I ran to the railway, spotting a train in the distance. I cursed as I saw the ticket barriers. I sighed.
My old mate Jessica told me once, about a way to dodge the barriers, pretend your with the
people ahead.

//Flashback//

" Try to act like a little lost girl" Jessica smirked, her blonde curls resting on my shoulder.
It was a saturday evening and me and jessica were cuddled up on the sofa.
I pouted."Hows this?" I asked, giving her puppy eyes.
"Hmm I am teaching you well my cadet." I laughed
We giggled as I poked her.
"What about the ticket inspector? I asked.
"Easy," She replied, "Just hide in the toilet! There aren't usually ticket inspectors there anyway."
"Right."
The we heard a loud bang, and a girl screaming.( Assumption!)
"You can't keep me here!! I'll just run away! GET OFF ME!!!!" Me and Jess ran to the door to get a better look at the new girl. I was surprised, she looked around my age, with light brown, mousy hair. She gave me a death glare.
"What the hell are you looking at?!" She spat. I gasped and hid behind Jess.
"Don't speak to her like that!" Jess yelled.
"Come on Jess, come upstairs." I whispered.
She was fuming, but soon she gave in and we went upstairs to our bedroom.
The girl was staring at me all the way. What was her problem?!
"I didn't like her." I said quietly, when we were in our room.
" Me neither." She smiled, pulling me into a hug. She was like a big sister to me.

// End of Flashback//

I tucked my hair behind my ears, doing my best to look younger. I had always been quite petite, but I think that I'd grown considerably in the last year or so.
All I needed was a bit of luck. I waited for the right people to walk past.
The train was stopping and I was getting pretty desperate. Then the right people walked past, a family of 4.
I followed behind them. Keeping a distance of about 2 people between us. When they had gone past, I ran after them, pushing the bar.
"Wait! I yelled.
"Excuse me, you can't go past." The security guard was saying.
" But that was my family! They have my ticket!" I whimpered
The family were far ahead, luckkily, so he couldn't call them. More worringly, though the train was filling up...
" Please sir, I'm gonna miss my train!"
He sighed, and let me past.
"Thanks! I yelled, running for the train. I hopped on, just as the doors closed.
Wow! I can't believe I actually did that! So long timid Kasey! The train started moving, and I stumbled forward, onto a man's foot.
"Ssorry," I stammered, turning away, blushing. Not a good start Kasey, not a good start.

Sally's POV

Fuck. I. Am. Going.To.Go.Insane.
Seriously, if I don't talk to someone soon I will fucking jump off a bridge. If I can find a bridge. They're aren't many bridges in Halifax... Fuck! I'm talking about bridges.
I thought about michael. Damn he was hot. "Sally, you have a boyfriend!" I told myself sternly. Oh fuck him! He doesn't care about me. Anyway, he'll never know.
"Michael?" I called, knocking on his door.
"Who is it?" He called.
"Can't you tell?"

Michael's POV

"Can't you tell?"
It was Sally.
"Sally?" I opened the door.
She was smiling sweetly at me, fluttering her eyelashes.
"Erm, what do you want?" I asked awkwardly.
"Oh, I don't know," She smiled and looked at the ground. "Can I come in?"
I stood in the doorway for a bit, unsure if it would be rude to say no, but I decided it would.
"Er OK."
She hopped in, sitting on the edge of my bed. I shut the door and turned around. She was still smiling unnaturally sweetly at me, now twirling her hair.
I sat at the edge facing her. I had the strongest urge to just go back to my computer, but she clearly wanted something.
" Do you like my necklace, Michael?" She asked.
I glanced down at her necklace. She pushed her chest out, obviously wanting me to look at something else. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat/bed.
"Happy," I murmered.
"Yes happy", she whispered seductively
"Do you have a girlfriend, Michael?" She asked, so quietly, I could barely hear her. She shifted closer, her forhead almost touching mine. I didn't have a girlfriend, no. But she sure had a boyfriend, Sam Holland, captain of the football team, and the most popular boy in the school. I didn't wanna mess with him. She was making me feel very uncomfortable now, rubbing her leg against mine.
"I said do you have a girlfriend?" She whispered in my ear, making me shiver.
"N-no," I croaked.
"Good," She whispered, and before I could do anything, she crashed her lips on to mine.
I kissed her back. I couldn't help it, she was very beautiful, with her misty greyish green eyes.
But then I couldn't help thinking of someone else who is beautiful, with a sweet laugh and a kind nature...
I pulled out of the kiss just as her tounge was entering my mouth.
"What is it? Whats wrong?" She asked, looking confused and hurt.
"I-I've gotta go," I said hastily, running downstairs.
"What is it? What did I do wrong?" I heard her call, but I ignored her and headed out. I would go to mike's, I don't think I could ever look her in the eye again. Those beautiful misty eyes.

Kasey's POV

"Tickets! Tickets please!" I groaned, rushing for the toilet. Trust my luck. I sat on lou (hehe;) I mean the loo, waiting for the inspector to past. I checked my phone. 18:07. No panicked messages from Janet. In fact no messages at all.

//Flashback//

"I will messsage you everyday!" She sobbed," I promise."
"Me too! Oh Jess, please don't leave." I cried in her arms. Why was I being so selfish? She deserved a proper home, a proper family. But where did that leave me?
"How am I going to survive the Keller?" I whimpered. She laughed a bit at my comment. I was actually being quite serious. It was hard enough living with her with Jess. God knows ...
"Remember," she whispered into my curls," Don't listen to her. Don't believe anything she says. Because you are the most beautiful, clever and strong girl I've ever met. Do you understand?"
I blushed, burrying my head into her golden curls.
"Do you?"
I nodded.
The car came. I burst into a fresh wave of tears. The reality of the situation kicked in. How could I live without her?
But I couldn't do anything but wave as she drove away...

//End of Flashback//

A tear came to my eye. I remembered that day like it was yesterday. I quickly wiped the tear away. No point in moping about people who have left. People who have moved on. Without me.
My first friend was Emily, a lively girl always jumping about. she left when I was 7.
Then there was Alice, Katie,Abby and Alora, all of which had moved on.
Well now I was moving on. So long Redbrick house!
